Kill Bill Vol. 2 Delayed until April 16th

Bummer.

"Variety has confirmed that Miramax has moved the Quentin Tarantino sequel Kill Bill: Vol. 2 from February 20 to April 16. In a clever move, Disney has already moved its Lindsay Lohan romantic comedy Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen into the Feb. 20 spot."

sherpahigh 01-16-2004 07:09 AM

Bummer indeed.

Isn't everything already done on the film already? Dosn't seem to be any good reason to delay the release.

Boo to that.

CSflim 01-16-2004 07:35 AM

WHY!?
Damn! That sucks! I'm dying to see it!

They probably want to leave time to release the DVD before they release the sequel, so that people who haven't seen the first one can watch it before going to the second one. Makes sense I suppose...

BuddyHawks 01-16-2004 07:37 AM

Awwww crappy butt shoot

actionoreos 01-16-2004 08:52 AM

Well that's annoying. Like we need another Lindsey Lohan movie.

That seems like the most likely answer. It all comes down to $$$

Derwood 01-16-2004 11:32 AM

Good, cuz I missed Part 1 in the theatres :)

Mr.Deflok 01-16-2004 12:06 PM

Ya that does make sense. Still seems a little tight though. They're releasing the dvd a whole 3 days before Vol. 2 comes out. Oh well.

Also I don't really like the idea of releasing them both on thier own since it seems very likely that later they'll release both in some special bonus package money grab.

True, but someone like me can just rent Vol.1 and then wait to buy until the double release.

In celebration of the release of 'Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen' I intend to spend the 20th of February punching myself and those within reach repeatedly in the face.

Kaos 01-16-2004 06:17 PM

This is like Half-Life 2 all over again :(

Let's make it a party.

Nice Nerd, Fremen!!

What is this confessions of a teenage drama queen of which you speak. Will this be a motion picture that I will likely be as oblivious to as if it were a Mormon film?

They can stall out Part Two as long as they want. With the very justified exception of LOTR, which was a trilogy to begin with even if they made it all at once, I think these two part movies are a profit taking device, and I won't support it. (disclosure: yes, I saw all three Matricies) If I ever see Kill Bill, it will be if the second run dinner theater nearby runs 1 and 2 back to back. I'll spring for $10 to see it all at once, but not $10 each to see it twice.

I am going to cry myself to sleep tonight. I wondered why they haven't been hyping the Vol. 2 yet. AHHHHHHH. I'll just go back to listening to Nancy Sinatra's "Bang Bang" 5 times a day until April while Bang Bangin my head into the wall. :(

t3m3st 01-16-2004 10:36 PM

Once I get to Hollywood and find those Miramax fucks who are delaying that movie, I'm gonna make 'em eat our shit, then shit out our shit, then eat their shit which is made up of our shit that we made 'em eat. Then, I'll wait for a boxed set with both movies to come out in the fall, cuz I'm not buying it if they release it before vol. 2.

Spartak 01-16-2004 11:44 PM

NO NO NO NO NO NO

>_<

isis 01-17-2004 01:53 AM

Sigh. I loved the first, now I have to wait forever for the second? This is worse than the Lord of the Rings trilogy (for those who couldn't wait for it .. pfft, i certainly could ;D)

Reese 01-17-2004 02:15 AM

I love it! Kill bill on DVD is going to rent like crazy because part 2 hit theaters the same week. I'm gonna have to buy an extra copy or two.

I don't think it's good for theaters though. They aren't going to make as much money early in the films life because much of the audience won't be able to see the movie within a few weeks of it's release. Maybe it won't be a big loss because of the type of movie that it is.
