The Missing

Did anyone else see this film? I saw it a couple of days ago and thought it was fantastic. I won't give anything away, but there were many qualities that I liked about the film, especially the location they shot at. Gorgeous cinematography!

I want to see this film, I'm not that big on scary movies, or quasi-scary movies, just never saw the point (too much gore, let my imagination wander, like the Greek Tragedies, have someone go off stage, scream, and then fall back to the stage "dead"). Anyways, it looks pretty good, can't go wrong with Tommy Lee Jones and Cate Blanchett.

Can you give me a little detail, is it a horror movie or a scary movie? Are there supernatural elements? The previews can be very misleading and I want a better idea of what type of movie it is.

Not to burst anyones bubble but I found The Missing to be boring. Tommy Lee Jones was decent but I felt the story the was drawn out and dull. To answer Diergray without giving away anything, I'd have to say its neither a horror nor a scary movie and there are supernatural elements. Dont take my word for it and see if for yourself. I was just disappointment. I expected a little more.

I partially agree with Lord Humungus. The movie could have been cut about 15 minutes in length (or possibly more), and ended before the last gunfight. Tommy Lee Jones' character would have had his full arc by then, and to me, it would have been a better movie.

I loved Jones' character and the fact that his motives for finding his grand-daughter changed throughout the movie, how he developed a love for her. It almost made me shed a tear. In all, there was only a few cliches, and for the most part, was an enjoyable movie.
