Good Stock Market/Business Movies

Hey, I teach HS honors Economics and will have a bunch of kids absent the 2 days before Thanksgiving break, so thought I'd show a movie.

Any good ideas about movies that would be appropriate? No Wall Street or R rated stuff, obvs...

Anything stock market related .... Secret of my success? What was that rated? Or having to do with starting up a business....

Thanks!

'Rouge Traders' with Ewan McGregor, maybe worth a shot. http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0131566/

'Wall Street' with Charlie Sheen and Michael Douglas, another maybe. http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0094291/

'The Associate' with Whoppi Goldberg is another possibility. http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0115580/

Thats about all I can think of at the moment - not sure if they are what your looking for though, also it's been a few years since I have seen either of the three.

With the limitation of it not being R-rated you really limit things> Half the sraw of movies involving the stock market, is power and sex.

Here are a couple not mentioned yet:
Trading Places
Other People's Money

As a side note, there are some board games out there that might get student's interest.

Rags to Riches, Monopoly (of course), Stakxchange are a few

Yeah. A movie dealing with the stock market, or basically anything to do with economics or finance, is not likely to be marketed to a non-adult audience, making finding a good non-r-rated one difficult.

I think "Barbarians at the Gate" is a great movie. But there are quite a few curse words peppered throughout if that's what you are worried about.

However, my reccomendation has to goto the documentary:

" STARTUP.COM " directed by Jehane Noujaim and Chris Hegedus

It's rated R just like every other movie about business but it only has a very few curse words in it. Personally I think it's your best bet.

Glen Ross Glen Gary?

i think that counts. Most of the movie takes place in an office setting.
