New Harry Potter Trailer

I'm not sure how many Harry Potter fans there are on this board, but I'm sure some of you might enjoy this. I personally think the trailer seems a little vague, but it kind of gives you an idea. I've also never read the books, so what do I know?

RedCometChar 11-13-2003 11:40 AM

It is a shade vague, but I guess that a "B" trailer that's a little more informative is probably on the way. I want a set of those spine candles...

Lasereth 11-13-2003 12:43 PM

That was awesome. I've read the entire series through twice and I love the movies. I think the new Dumbledore is actually better than the older one...well, not necessarily in looks, but more of the way he acted. Maybe it was a directing issue with Harris?

i can't decide whether gary oldman looks like charles manson or jesus. I know weird group to pair to gether but you have to admit have the same haircut.

YaWhateva 11-13-2003 03:39 PM

does anyone have this for download, cuz my stupid school firewall wont let me stream movies.

Totally. I mean, i know Hariis was a legend, but i always disliked his portrayal of Dumbledore, his voice was too weak, Michael Gambon's voice sounds much more what i expected Dumbledore's voice to sound like. Also, i don't think it was a directing issue with Harris so much though. relationships between directors and actors, in both film and theatre is always a little weird, but unless everything is really bad, like a control-freak director, an actor's interp is up to the actor, the director just critiques little things.

and i'm just flat-out stoked about the new movie, i can't wait to see it.

His school computers probably don't have the fabulous program known as Quicktime. What a shame! :(

Wow. A little sketchy, but still, wow. This was my favourite of all the books and I'm more excited about this than I was of the others. Thanks for the post!

guthmund 11-13-2003 10:19 PM

I really liked the first movie; I thought the second went out of it's way to be cute, but the third one....looks a little darker.

I'm glad they changed directors and with the addition of Gary Oldman, I'm just tingling with anticipation.

Oh, and the Dementors......(I know you only see their hand, but how cool was that??

Tee hee....

Just like to point out that this film won't be released on the this November like the previous two films were, tell your kids before they hear it from their friends.

The film Chamber of Secrets blew Philosopher's Stone out of the water, I'm hoping this is a trend to follow.

I wish I had seen Philosopher's Stone, but I was only able to see The Sorcerer's stone. I wonder why they changed the name?

mystmarimatt 11-14-2003 01:09 AM

i don't think there was any difference in the movies, other than changing a few words (ie, philosopher, to sorceror). as for the reason of changing the names in the books and, thusly for the movies, all i've heard is a bunch of dubious internet babble, none of which seems likely, so i dunno.

Mr.Deflok 11-14-2003 02:59 AM

Apparently the word "Philosophers" is too difficult and uncommon for children and Americans to pronounce and remember. Still a stupid reason considering 80% of the audiences were kids who had read 'Philosopher's Stone'.

Um i live in a dorm and am using my fabulous computer lol. Awww you think i am some computer illiterate person :(. But the school has a firewall or something set up which makes the downloads of certain files not work. Normal downloads go at normal speeds like 150Kbps, but files like .mov, .mpeg, .asx, and the like go extremely slow, around 500 bps. This disallows some movie dls and definitely doesnt allow for movie streaming. But i was able to get around it and the movie looks awesome!

That's not what I said. I said that the movie was Quicktime, and you might not be able to play it using school computers.

I'm glad there is a new director too. It just seems like a good idea to let multiple directors give their interpretations of the HP series. It will keep the movies interesting, instead of just watching the same vision with different plots.

Also, I had almost forgotten that they had a new Dumbledore. But since he only had one line (unless I missed one) in the trailer, I'm not going to decide immediately that he's better suitted for the role.

Fremen 11-14-2003 11:13 PM

Damn! This clip looks awesome!
Thanks for supplying it, Batman. :)
It was worth the 2 hour dl.

I'm looking forward to this one, most definitely.

Dr.Who 11-15-2003 08:46 AM

This is the best book of the Potter Serie. Can't wait to see the movie.

Flesh 11-15-2003 06:07 PM

looks good.

SSJwrestler 11-16-2003 10:38 AM

looks beast, thanks for sharing

Jakejake 11-16-2003 02:24 PM

Cool...If I walk out of my room and round the corner for about 30 seconds I can be in the hall that they filmed all the meal scenes in in Harry Potter. Christ Church college, Oxford, England. It is pretty impressive.

Hrothgar 11-16-2003 07:38 PM

It's neat to see how the fast the actors are growing up. They are no longer cute little kids.

losthellhound 11-16-2003 10:10 PM

woohoo.. more Potter!

Yeah no kiddin! Did you see how much Draco Malfoy and Neville Longbottom have grown!? They look completely different. Malfoy looks funny with Crabb and Goyle now because they didn't grow as much as him.

I like HP and all, but I saw this thread and got all excited about a new trailer coming out for, like... this year.

I think you've set a record for resurrecting an old thread... FIVE YEARS!! :)

Frosstbyte 04-16-2008 02:19 PM

Best thread necromancy ever! That is some pro use of the search function! =D
