BasketBall 4/5
|
George of the Jungle 2 -- 0.5/5
The worst god damn movie I've ever had the displeasure of watching. I would rather saw off my cock with a butterknife. (I watched it cause I was babysitting my girlfriends baby brother and sister with her, and they were diggin it.) |
Glad to see ya back, crow_daw.
The Duplex - 4.2/5 A movie I didn't expect much from, it brought me plenty of laughs and taught me that there are times when it's okay to hate old women. |
kill bill volume 2
it's good. |
The Burbs. Still funny. 8/10
|
ocean's eleven, again, still 5 out of 5.
|
Scarface - 6/10
Overhyped by today's "thug" culture. Overall not a terrible movie, but definitely too long....would've been better at or under 2 hours, but at 2 hours, 50 minutes, it was stretching it. Finding the comparisons to GTA: Vice City got me through most of it... |
Men on Fire staring Denzel Washington
4.5/5 |
Apocalypse Now Redux - 7/10
I had never seen the original, so I guess I couldn't say much as to the added scenes, but overall, the movie was way to long, grinding to a halt at the French Plantation. I understand that for psychological effect, the trip up the river has to feel long and boring, but at times it was, well, long and boring. Martin Sheen and Marlon Brando were great, as was Robert Duvall as Kilgore. A super young Laurence Fishburne was also good. I never like the book "Heart of Darkness" by Joseph Conrad, so I'm not surprised that a movie based on it didn't rank up there in my top movies of all time. |
"Buffalo 66"
I'm sure I would have enjoyed this movie more if I hadn't dated the main character |
The Graduate 4.75/5 - Very well directed
|
Man on Fire
4.5/5 dragged on a little near the end, but a fantastic movie... LOVED the screenplay... amazing denzel was god AND Scary Movie 3 1/5 terrible |
Pulp Fiction 10 / 5
|
Hellboy, 3/5. And that's all I'm gonna say about that.
|
Peter Pan 4/5.
(the new one) |

Texas Chainsaw Massacre latest remake.... 3 out of 5 stars.
|
Godfather part1: all i can say is "i'll make you an offer you can't refuse: watch the movie or have your brain splattered on the tv."
hehe... Greatest mafia movie! GodFather part2: Wow! great twist of evens... I like the flashbacks to the early godfather.(1901) Must see for the fan of mafia/mod/gangster movies. I give them 100% and 95%. I will post review for the 3rd one later this week... still didnt watch it. |
The Goonies - a theater just had a midnight showing last weekend. Great to see it on the big screen once again.
Harry and the Hendersons gets its own sitcom while Chunk and Sloth go unrecognized? Where is the justice? 9/10 |
Signs- 6/10 The story was really hard to believe. I feel that the writer/director almost knew that the story was weak, but they focused on making the audience jump. For this sake, it was good, so I give it a 6. I'd like to see it in surround sound though, I bet it would have been a better experience.
Blue Velvet- 8/10....so far. I'm yet to finish it, but what a trippy movie. I've probably got 20 minutes left and it's just nuts. |
Kill Bill Volume 2. I liked the 1st one alot more! I know i shouldnt be compairing them but it's a continuous story... too much talking and stupid parts, not enough action and comedy like in the 1st. I'll give it a 70%.
Will have to see it again to be sure... But i can only recomend it to those who saw the 1st movie and want to know the end.(as if u didnt know allready!) |

Van Helsing. Bit frantic trying to keep everything together in the story. Good special effects. Lots of story. Hugh Jackman is now established for me as a damn good action hero.
7.5/10 |
We Were Soldiers - 9/10, powerful stuff.
|
Spirited Away - 5/5 - very moving and uplifting, and beautifully animated
|
Jack Ass The Movie...this cracks me up...nothing like watching a bunch of grown men acting like boys
|
Just finished "Lost in Translation" with Bill Murray (who I thought for about an hour - untill my boyfriend set me straight - was Jack Nicholson). So, that was the biggest waste of time ever. If someone wants to explain it to me, then they can. But, it started off slow, then with no real ending. No wrap up. Those artsy type ppl are gonna love it.
|
Man on Fire: 4.5 out of 5
I was really afraid this movie was going to suck. I really didn't want it to, and luckily, it didn't. It rocked, actually. Denzel put on another amazing performance, in fact, all acting was great. Dakota Fanning does an amazing job, she's going to have a bright future if she continues to pursue acting. It's hard to believe she isn't even 10. It just missed a 5 imo because it started to drag right before the end. It was also a tad on the predictable side. It wasn't so predictable that you were 100% sure of what was going to happen though. |
Something's Gotta Give: 10/10
Hilarious...Jack Nicholson had me lmao. Great movie, and it wasn't cheesy. Mona Lisa Smile: 8.5/10 It was good. I'm not too big on a lot of chick-flicks (and I'm a chick). I enjoyed Julia Roberts, of course. It was interesting, but I wouldn't buy it. |

Running Time
It's a little obscure so I'll give you a short snippet of what its about. Running Time was filmed in black and white, in real time, and seemingly takes place in one continuous, fluid shot. Bruce Campbell is god, so I give it 5/5 for novelty, and having Bruce |
Troy
5/10 the awsome war scene barely helped this movie from burning in hell. I can't help but think "OMFG! they bite off the war scene from Two Towers, those assholes!!!" any one else think so? |
Elephant
7/10 Short independent film about 2 students who shoot up their school. I loved the way it was filmed. I'd say this film cost next to nothing to make, but very interesting to watch. |
"Girl with a Pearl Earring."
Scarlet Johansson is so talented and amazing in this. Too bad that the book was 10 times better (as often the case). Interesting view of the Flemish school of painters using the 'camera obscure' and slice of life in another typically caste system. Needed some 'bump' if you know what I mean and I think you do.... Historically to those of us with fine art degrees, at least it had a taste of the period and insights worthy of study about paints and subjects. Give me the "Red Violin" instead though. Quite impressive and edgey. With a haunting sound track. |
The Warriors:
Ol' School (1979) gang movie that takes place in new york. It's like watching any of those 80's beat-em-up's like Double Dragon in movie form. There's more and better fro's in that movie than any movie made in the past 25 years. 6/10 for the excessively bad acting though. |
Dogma
10/10 I can't possibly think of anything that is bad in this movie, if any one disagree, please enlighten me. |
Pieces of April - 45%
boring. |
Gangster #1... very bad Brittish movie I caught on HBO on demand = 1 out of 5
|
Return of the King 9/10
10x better in the theater. Still an awesome movie. The Cooler 7/10 Good movie, albeit a little weird at time. Maria Bello is too fine. |
Van Helsing - Awesome
Kill Bill 2 - Kick ass Punisher - A little gay at times but the action made up for it |

Step into Liquid: Great locations, crazy surfing, but it just didn't move me like the Endless Summer did : 6/10
|
Shrek 2
5/5 so funny, soooo soooo funny |
Diabolique (1996)
Sharon Stone .... Nicole Horner Isabelle Adjani .... Mia Baran The wife and mistress of a cruel school master collaborate in a carefully planned and executed attempt to murder him... ...a haunting, unpredictable film. solid = 8/10 |
I just saw Shrek 2 and I would rate it on a scale of 1 - 10 a good solid 8. Had a blast and laughed my ass off!
|
OH! One more. I also saw Troy and THAT was a great movie! Another 8 out of 10 in my book.
|
Dummy 8/10
The cast of this movie was great...although ventriloquist dummy's scare me |
Van Helsing...
Storyline: Fucked if I know?! This movie made me want to die... 0/10. |
I finally got to see Kill Bill Vol. 1. They told me that it was ridiculously bloody, but sheesh!!!!!! I totally enjoyed it!!!!
|
Kill Bill vol 1 8/10
Torque 6/10 |
You got served
Fantastic dance choreography and lots of it too, which really makes up for the poor plot and piss poor acting and some really cheesy scene in the movie that makes me groan oh-so-painfully... 6.5/10 |
Apocalypse Now (Redux) gets 8/10 from me for a scintillating combination of incredible photography and vision from FFC; fabulous acting from Sheen that ought to have discouraged both Charlie and Emilio from ever treading the boards; and a masterful star-turn from an almost unrecognisable Brando, dominating wholly despite only showing up at the end.
The feel of this film is what really makes it. Sort of doom-laden ethereal. Two points dropped as it does go on a bit. |
Gettysburgh.
Much better than Gods and Generals. Overall, a good civil war film. However, I am still waiting for something better to come out on the civil war. |
Memories of Murder
7/10 I've seen better "trying to catch the serial killer" movies, but this one has a very interesting twist at the end. Spoiler: They don't catch the killer |
Ewoks: Battle for Endor
All levels of Nostalgic Greatness |
Last Samurai:
People might say it's cliched, but the acting was solid, and now I want to be a Samurai when I grow up. 9/10 |
Just saw Super Size Me....Now, I'm not a big fast food guy to begin with but I will NEVER eat that filth again!!! What a GREAT movie. It should be required viewing for every School kid, teacher and parent.
10/10 |
Shrek 2. 9.5 / 10
|
Paycheck, 4/10
|
Just watched Dr. T and the Women. Richard Gere as Dr T., and Kate Hudson, Tara Reid, Helen Hunt, Farryl Fawcett, Liv Tyler and Shelley Long as the Woman. With all the big name people, thought it would be an interesting movie. The ending completely blew it, so I give it a 3/10.

Gerry. I think i need to see it again to see If i liked it.

Yellowbeard, 6/10 for the Chapman-nostalgia.

THE WORST MOVIE I HAVE EVER SEEN. This movie was physically agonizing to watch, and EASILY tops my charts of worst movies ever, far surpassing Windego, New World Order, Vertical Limit, you name it. Fuck you, Air Bud.

The Magnificent Seven
Yul Brenner, Steve McQueen, James Coburn, Charles Bronson AWESOME Western. It was done in the 60s before the genre changed to the "spaghetti westerns". It's a touching and exciting story along the lines of "Seven Samurai" by Kurosawa. A small town in Mexico is terrorized by traveling bandits who take all their food every season, save what they need to survive. The plight of these villagers inspires Chris (Yul Brenner) to gather a group of hired guns to defend the small town from the large group of bandits. GREAT movie. 5/5 |
"Stuck On You" 4.5/5
It was really hilarious. Of course, it's from the Farelly bros. who directed Soemthing About Mary, Me Myself & Irene, Shallow Hal, etc. I haven't seen Shallow Hal yet, but the other movies I have and they all are excellent. |

Bubba Ho-tep
7/10 for the Bruce. |
the return of the king: 9 / 10
bubba ho-tep: 8.5 / 10 the great escape: 8 / 10 the suicide kings: 8 / 10 lost in translation: 3 /10 |
I saw Killing Zoe this weekend. No, worse, I bought the Killing Zoe DVD this weekend, then watched it. Here's what happened that fateful friday afternoon in Carrefour:
Roger Avary. Hmmn, heard of him. Tarantino's Exec. Producer, so he must have had some sort of positive influence. Of course, Jean-Hughes Anglade was class in Subway and Betty Blue (37°5 le matin), Julie Delpy's quite sweet...I saw Eric Stolz in Berwick upon Tweed's WHSmith once, so we're practically related. Ooh, look at the pretty box! Should be good, even at 25 Euros. Wrong. I don't think I've ever sat through such a rotten, needlessly and nastily violent, artless, selfconscious, lumbering-scripted, intravenous drug use-glamourising, misogynistic, lame-acted, come-to-Paris-twats film in all my born days. I was just over having a chuckle at the Paycheck review so thoughtfully provided by MahlerIsgod, when it struck me that in comparison with this putrid bowl of turgid, festering muck, that particular sci-fi aberration comes out looking like 2001...Or AI, at least. The very worst part came halfway through the climactic heist scene when I realised to my utter horror that I'd seen the film before. 1/10, for Julie. |
8 Mile - 6.5/10
In a nutshell: The Hip-Hop "Purple Rain" |
Master and Commander
4/5 A little long winded. |
Troy
Movie was great. 5/5 |
Shrek 2
Light and entertaining, didn't have too think too much about the movie. 7/10 |
The day after tomorrow. Theatre.
Good special effects not enough with the story though acting was a bit off. 3/5 |
Shrek 2
Loved it! 10/10 or 5/5 or whatever :p |
reservoir dog. by Quentin Tarantino. SOOOO goood! if u want to see a good fucking movie, see this. you will not be dissapointed.
i give you my word. 100%. "I don't believe this shit, both of you got ten years on me, and I'm the only one actin like a professional. You guys act like a bunch of fuckin niggers. You ever work a job with a bunch of niggers? They're just like you two, always fightin, always sayin they're gonna kill one another." |
shrek 2: 8.5 / 10
remember the titans: 10 / 10 stigmata: 7 / 10 it's a mad, mad, mad, mad world: 8 / 10 happy gilmore: 6.5 / 10 billy madison: 6 / 10 black sheep: 7.5 / 10 |
Just saw Bruce Almighty on HBO, overall a good fun movie, one of Carey's best. 9/10
|
Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban, which I've written a lenghty post on in another thread. 10/10
|
ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND: I can't say anything about this movie that would do it justice, it's brilliant and perfect a definate 5 out of 5... I haven't cried in a movie since ROTK so this was very much welcome.
THE PUNISHER: I've always been a big fan of the comic, loved Frank Castle to death, though the film took some liberties with his origin the film felt like a Punisher comic and was pulled off very well. Sure some of the shots were poor and the story is age-old but it's Frank Castle so I loved it. |
Kill Bill Vol1: 7.3432/ 9.343
Funny as all hell. Was it supposed to be a comedy? Gothika: 5/10 Average predicatable horror film. Seabiscuit: 8/10 Good sappy film. A bit predictable. |
I tend to rate hard, only because I have some personal favorites that are 5/5 which is hard to achieve ;)
Shrek 2: 7.8/10 Great movie, tons of laughs Harry Potter/Azkaban: 8/10 Good movie. I've never read these books and didn't see the second film. Went for my girlfriend. I liked it. Great art direction. Bubba Ho-Tep: 7.8/10 Had high expectations for this. Very funny odd humor though. Jumped around too much for me though. |
Troy 8/10
great story, sean bean is my favorite actor, brad pitt was sexy as fuck (in a strictly hetero way) |
Master and Commander. It was a predictable film but I'm a big history buff and I enjoy Russell Crowe's acting. A very good 2.5 hour film.
|
Happy Gilmore 9/10
|
Along Came Polly... 7/10
I thought it was funny but I don't do embarassing comedies very well. I just get too embarassed for the characters! |
Big Fish...
thought it was good but I think Burton delved a bit too much into drama and romance and lost the edgy mystical hook he always has hung his hat on. |
High Plains Drifter...
Holy crap! This movie is so fucking basass! Not for everyone, but I fucking love it! God I love Westerns... |
Monster
Not sure how much I liked it. All I could really concentrate on was how horrible Charlize Theron looked. I guess it really made me appreciate the life I have. It was a good movie, but I don't think I'll ever see it again. |
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
I had read the book and was kind of disappointed with the lack of details... but then decided the movie would be hours and hours if all was included. Great special effects. 4/5 |
2001 a space oddysey: still a good flick. I can't believe this movie is this old. The effects are pretty damn good. Plus, it's soundtrack is very good.
American Wedding: decent. Nowhere near American Pie. |
Cabin Fever: 6/10
There are a few memorable moments in the movie but they're too far inbetween. Would have no desire to watch this again. "Everyone knows not to sit next to Dennis." |
Van Helsing: 5/10
Not enough action and too many lies. (horses jump bridge) |
The Rundown - 4/5
Some funny parts. |
RAW DEAL: Stupid movie but Arnold saves it 3/5
RED HEAT: See above HARRY POTTER 3: Little disappointed (was my favourite novel in the series) but had some excellent camera-work 3.5/5 |
Zatôichi: Cool martial arts swordplay, wit, and elements of Japanese dance. Great movie - I especially loved the surprising ending.
9/10 |
