Does anyone know if Peter Jackson has said anything about how he's going to finish the trilogy?
*minor spoiler* Just wondering if he's going to take the movie all the way back to the shire, or finish it at Mt. Doom? Would be interesting to see how he handles it. |
Apparently he's not going back to the Shire, or at least he wasn't going to, but that may well have changed. Remember that there was a pretty major hint of the destruction of the shire when Frodo looked into the mirror with Galadriel.

LaZy - no, you're not mistaken. There was a second or half-second glimpse of Shelob in the trailer - looks like a huge tarantula, at the glance...
poot - I've heard different things on that issue - the most reliable source said that The Scouring of the Shire won't be in the main movie release, but will be included in the Extended DVD edition of ROTK. |
The Scourging was never filmed, I know some people who worked on LOTR (I even got a go on the facial animatronics on Treebeard). But there's always hope, a fool's hope ;)
I never liked the Scourging in the novel myself but ROTK is the only novel who's ending made me cry. p.s. this trailer was amazing, sent shivers down my spine the whole way through |
