Did you buy LoTR:TTT today?
See title. Did you buy Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers today?
I did, and I'm going to buy the extended edition too. I'm going to pass on the collectors set. |
I'm not being fooled again.. I am waiting for the extended version
|
I'll rent it (unless I find someone who got it) and buy the Extended version.
|
bought it.
hal, it wasn't a secret about the extended feature last year. same this year |
Yep
|
Yup, picked it up (I had it reserved at Blockbuster) this morning like 15 minutes after the store opened. I will be getting the Extended Version in November.
|
i saw it at the theaters and that's enough for me.
|
I bought it yesterday, (timezone difference) I intended not to buy it for the same reason as Halx plus I didn't like TTT that much however it was my least favourite of the three novels too. The main reason I bought it though was for the 10 minutes preview of ROTK, which was in my opinion the best of the three novels.
Good thing is that my brother said he'd buy the extended edition in November. |

When Fellowship come out, I bought the theatrical release, even though I knew the extended cut was coming, just for the extra features. Then I realized that was a silly waste of money. :p So this time around, I'm just gonna wait for the extended edition.
|
I almost ended up buying it twice.
I ran into the grocery store after work, right at the beginning of a thunderstorm - so I wanted to get in and out and homeward bound ASAP. I saw the VHS version of The Two Towers, and immediately grabbed the thinner DVD package below it. Well, I got home and unwrapped it, only to discover I had just bought another Fellowship of the Ring DVD!!! I took it back to the store later and offered, "OK - I'll admit it was stupid to buy it without even looking at it if you'll admit it was stupid to put FOTR DVD's in the middle of a TTT display." They were cool and let me swap for the one I wanted. Still haven't watched it yet, though - maybe tomorrow night. Edit: I should probably add - I'm not waiting for the extended version because I haven't seen the movie yet (Last time I was in a theater was to see Jurassic Park). That's right - I saw FOTR for the first time almost exactly one year ago today. Maybe I'll make an exception for TROTK |
Did not, just bought Simpsons Season 3. :)
|
Yes I did.
|
I'm low on cash at the present, but will pick it up soon. Also the extended. Damn school tuition!

I'll wait for the ex-ed version.
I still haven't bought LOTR yet, either. |

anyone want to buy my normal Fellowship of the Ring dvd?? i was very annoyed the last time when i realised that i should have waited a few more months. never again. |
i'm waiting for the cool gollum statue version
in one year we'll be able to do a 12 hour lotr marathon with the 3 extended dvds. now if i could only get a dvdplayer in my computer at the job. |

For one thing, my wife is disabled and has problems sitting in a theater seat for two hours straight. Secondly, I found it too distracting to try to watch a movie in a crowded theater - I can't imagine how I'd react now with all the cell phones and laser pointers I hear about (actually, I can imagine). Also, we can buy a DVD, watch it on our large screen TV w/ dolby 5.1, and have some microwave popcorn and some sodas, beers, or wine for about the same price as watching it in a movie theater once. We own it forever and have a pause button, too. It just requires a little patience - but since I've read LOTR about a dozen times so far, I pretty much know the story - I can wait another 8 months to watch the movie versions. |
I'm going to wait for the EE. You see, I *never* buy any DVDs. In my opinion its a waste of money that I don't have, since I very rarely watch a movie more than 2 or 3 times. The only DVD that I do have it the FotR EE that I bought last Christmas.
I don't see myself buying any other new DVDs besides that. Perhaps Finding Nemo.. I loved that movie. ;) |
Bought it.
Did anyone watch the 2nd disc? I almost watched the ten-minute Behind The Scenes preview of RoTK, but I was afraid I'd see Shelob. Gotta wait for the BIG SCREEN for that! |
only have enough money for one, the way i've been spending. extended version gets the nod
|
i'm definately gonna wait for the extended version....
|
I'm waiting until all three released because I just KNOW they're going to release a collector's edition of all three with some extra goodies for about 999,932 dollars, so I'm saving up for that.
|
i'd not buy it yet if i were not totally hooked on it. it is officially Z Crack entertainment wise.
if DVDs were more expensive i'd just be irritated and rent it. but it is just cheap enough for me to afford and to me it is a 'special treat', so..... i'm watching it now and am thrilled.:) like how lots of people are with star wars. |
i've got TFOTR and TTT on dodgy pirate vids, but they'll do for the time being.
I'm gonna wait for the ROTK to be released in about another year and then buy the Super Mega Special Extended Edition Trilogy Box Set |
i got it two weeks ago. my brother works at Hollywood video and gets cool stuff like that, hehe.
|
I'm waiting to get trilogy...
|
anyone know when the extended Two Towers is supposed to come out?
|
waiting for the extended.. of course..
|
I bought both last time not going to happen again. I will wait for the longer version

I just bought it cause I want the same version as last year, there was no way I was going to buy the extended version. The movie is already long enough, I don't need 18 hrs of extras I'm never going to watch.

Extended all the way. I'm glad I waited for the extended FOTR.
Buying the same movie twice is just dumb. If you want to see it so bad, rent the theatrical release and wait to buy the extended version. Can't wait to see what the 43 minutes of additional footage will be for TTT. Any guesses? Do we see the Entmoot? More Treebeard scenes with Merry and Pippen? Or, god forbid, more invented Aragorn/Arwen scenes? |
I am waiting for the trilogy set that will undoubtedly come out. They all better be the extended editions too.
|
never have seen the film (just saw one of the trailers on the net some months back), and have no desire to rent this latest film at all at the moment. Might watch it one of these days in the next year or three..
|
I think Im going to wait for the last one, before I even think about buying any of the Trilogy. I dont see myself sitting down and watching those films over and over again, so I dont see the reason to buy.
|
I'm definitely waiting for the EE. The release date is November 18th. I already own the FOTR EE Gift Set. I want to collect all three even though they will come out with a mega trilogy edition in the future.
