Dogtown and Z-Boys; Skateboarding from the 70's!
I was totally into skateboarding in the late 70's. This weekend we rented Dogtown, a documentary on the history of skateboarding focused on the a small group of west coast kids who made the sport what it is today. It's narrated by Sean Penn. There's a scene in the movie where the Dogtown boys compete for the first time. All the other skater are doing hand-stands and end-overs and upright stuff like that. Those were the tricks I was always trying to do. The boys come in doing surfer moves, low to the ground, with all kinds of style! So basically, I was a total east-coast dork on a skateboard! :D
