Coming this Friday to a theater near you...
American Wedding!!!!
What are your thoughts and predictions for this movie? Who is your favorite character, and why? What were your favorite scenes in 1 & 2? |
heh im looking forward to this one too, though the first ap was better than the second in my opinion
|
Does he hump the wedding cake?
|
its look alright, i think its a bit over the top, mabye if they promise that this one will be the last one at the start of the movie i could enjoy it. I just dont want to ever see a "American Death From Old Age" with such clasics scences as the old guy humping something stupid infront of people then saying "Ow i broke my hip!!"
that would suck |
I reckon this movie will be really cool. Does the first 2 really show what american high school/college life is like. To me its so american, but I never went to high school there. So I can only draw a comparision for movies like this.
|
I saw the trailer, and I'm looking forward to this one. The series has actually done a great job of showing evolution, instead of a stupid rehash of the same crap over and over again.
|
It looks like it'll be good, but after this, they have to let it go. No "American Divorce," "American Mid-life Crisis," and "American Invalid care"
|
Yeah. After awhile you really don't need to see any more gratuitous nudity of the same cast...
"American Childbirth" would be kinda scary. |
Supposedly it will be the last one.
I just watched the first movie today for the second time ever. I enjoyed much more then my first time. Of course, that was when I was in high school and knew no one there who was like a character in any way (except for Stiffler, possibly...) |
I'm excited to see it. Of course, I have to watch the first 2 before I check this one out.
|
I'm sure I'll go see this one too. I saw the first one in the theater with a large group of friends. None of us could remember the last time a movie had made us laugh so much or so hard.
So when 2 came out, we had to go see that as well. It wasn't quite as funny as the first, but was still full of good laughs. Hollywood has a bad habit of disappointing sequels, so AP2 was a refreshing change in that it didn't totally suck. Hopefully 3 will be as funny and original as 1, but I am not hopeful. Regardless of my preconcieved notion though, I will still go see this one and hopefully enjoy it! |
They sure as hell fucked the pie for every penny they could muster. Movies like this make me happy there are channels like Bravo, IFC, and Sundance Film channel.
|
Looking good, but it kinda sucks that they ruined so much of the movie in the previews. i hate that.

NONE of the girls are going to be back except for Michelle. Even Oz is sitting this one out. It seems, even after the whole cast were the stars of the first movie, the series has now swung to focus squarely on Jim and Michelle, with Stifler and Shitbreak as comic relief. It started in AP2 (which I really liked, even though Tara Reid looked really rough in that one) with the two of them getting most of the screen time and now most of the original group isn't coming back. No Shannon Elizabeth, no Tara Reid, no Mena Suvari (who was in AP2 for all of about 20 seconds), no Natasha Lyonne. The way those girls played their characters, demonstrating that teen girls are just as much of horndogs as the teen guys, is what made the first movie special. I hope it can keep it up without them.
That said, Fred Willard is playing Michelle's dad, and he's funny as fuck. I keep hearing Tim Allen is Stifler's dad, but he's not listed on IMDB. Nikki Ziering is the bachelor party entertainment, rrroowwrrr... I'll be seeing it on Saturday afternoon! -Mikey |
Eugene Levy and Fred Willard in the same film guarantees comedy.
I know that they'll have a sick moment--I think it involves an awkward moment with a household pet--but it seems that the movie has evolved from a horny teenage picture in Part I to a romantic comedy in Part III. It's been an interesting ride. I don't miss the girls, with the exception of Lyonne. None of the other female characters added anything beyond appearance. They looked great, but the characters were easily replaced. I think #3 may be better off as a rental. |
Any film is better just for having Eugene Levy in the cast.
An under-rated legend!! |
Ewwww. Will be major let down. Is it just me or is Alyson Hannigan just too ugly for this movie? I mean sheesh in the early series of Buffy the vampire slayer she had it going on. But now she has reached the ugly age with me.

I liked it ... if you liked the first two, it's about the same thing with some new laughs (again, along the lines of the first two). Trust me - you wont be missing the girls (Shannon Elizabeth, Tara Reid) at one point of the movie at least. It would have been better if there was more than the 20 people in the early show as other people laughing helps out any comedy. There were laughs for sure though. |
The movie was great! Much better than I thought it would be.... there were definitely parts that I laughed so hard I cried... it was more along the lines of #1.
|
I just got back from seeing it and I really liked it. I like Kevin he's not a major character but he is always there to be the encouragement I enjoy that

I'm thinking I better see it while it's fresh, before the crowds die because that's how any comedy should be seen. I will sorely miss Shannon Elizabeth, for she is one of my most coveted wet dreams. I liked the first one the first time I saw it.. saw it again and didn't like it (probably because my christian friend made a big deal out of how bad it was.. go fogire) and the second one was a little disappointing... who knows
|
I watched it last night with my girl and it didnt have the spunk like the previous two. Sure it has its laughs, the raunchiness is still there, but a big element of this movie is actually the story line!
Even my girlfriend thought that this movie was more of a love story rather than the usual shits and giggles movie. |
I just got back from watching this movie and I gotta say that it's right up there with the first one. Once it gets going, it's really awesome. Check it out as soon as you can, and don't go to any of the early shows - a crowd is the best way to watch a comedy.
B+ |
why cant those dip shit actors get a new gig?
oh yah, i forgot, they're a poor mans Breakfast Club, except Oz is a pussy in comparison to Emilio Estevez... |

It doesn't make me happy saying these things. I used to adore her, as I said, in her Buffy years before she went lesbo. |
Saw it, liked it. The other two were better. The MILF guys are back, glad to see them, but no Tim Allen. And I agree that the series is more of a romantic comedy nowadays than the first movie was.
Worth the ticket price, worth completing your collection if you own the other two (but I'm sure the unrated version will be the one to get again). -Mikey |
Where did the whole Tim Allen as Stiffler's dad start out? I keep hearing people saying that, but I can't find anything to back it up.
|
I think it was on the deleted scenes from the DVDs. Someone will say if I'm right or not...
|
First and second ones were great but i dont know a 3rd might just be pushing it... damn preveiws they always bug the fuck out of me with any movie i want to see... ohh well i think i will go see this one tomorrow.
|
The first two were funny, but im curious to see what they come up with for this one.
|
I used to hear "Chris Penn as Stifler's dad" rumors before AP2 came out. I think scenes were actually shot but then cut, and that you can see him in family pictures in the background of some scenes.
-Mikey |
damn I wanna be a flute.......
Hmm..... Alison....... |
my favorite characters were the cop and the maid strippers!
anyway, does anyone know the strippers real names?? |
i went to see it last night and was quite impressed. stiffler came through in the clutch eh :P
|
Good summer movie, nice finish for a trilogy.
Very funny for the most part. I had to just cover my face watching some (in a good way). You had to love the dance scene.:D |
What a great movie, I saw it Saturday. Stiffler rules!!
|
Stifler is the funniest guy on the freaking planet!
|
I've seen American Pie 1. I'm going to watch 2 either today or tomorrow. I'm going to see American Wedding on Tuesday. I hope it is as good as I think it will be. I hate paying for lame movies.
|
not nearly as good as the first two...in fact it was pretty bad. A couple funny parts, but predictable and way overdone (esp. Stiffler).
|
I loved it, some EXRETMELY funny scenes in it. The ring in the dogshit scene was the BEST!
|
yeah, i guessed and laughed and it was pretty funny. but imo it doesn't touch the original .
|
I have to say, as sad as it is, I still love watching the first two.
I should be going to see this one shortly so we shall see! |
I could have done without the ring/fudge scene myself. I found myself laughing despite myself at times. I left feeling like I didn't waste $9.50. That's a good review isn't it??
|
it was a worthy film. the stifler show was piss funny
|
I saw it over the weekend and I thought it was great.
|
Well I've seen it now. I thought it was pretty funny. Especially the one scene which I will remember this movie for forever (you know what I mean). It didn't really feel like any characters were missing even though loads of them weren't there. The best characters were in it, and that is all that matters.
|
ok, so i saw this AP3 the other day... and like Hal said, see it with a big crowd... because alone, its not as funny as the first two.
i think that all of the characters who returned were great (esp eugene levy), except i think that Stiflerīs character was just too much... and the taming of Stifler was just too sappy for me. |
it was HILARIOUS.
i loved it. it's my kinda humor. the shit eating scene was the funniest. it threw me outta the chair laughing. |
Just saw the movie today and I thought it was the best out of all the American Pie series.
Stiffler was a bit full-on at the start but he started getting funny when they hit the gay-bar in Chicago. Maybe i was influenced by the 'big crowd' but I definitely rank this up there as one of the funniest movies I've seen. I love the bit where Stiffler and Finch swap personalities. Very farking funny |

hilarious, but stiffler was a little overkill at first
|
Quote:
But it was still a great movie. And good way to end the series (hopefully) |
Agreed.
If they don't end the series here then it will be a bit of overkill. Just like Austin Powers they should stop making any new sequels. Anyway, even if they did want to make another one, what occasion would they base it around??? The first baby? I can see them doing a 20-year reunion theme but all the actors need to be about 40 years old for that. I'm with you. Hopefully they kill it. |
the movie was funny, I almost split my side laughing. But that part with the "truffle" was a little too much... I almost puked on the guy sitting right in front of me while I was holding the popcorn bag for my friend because she almost hurled too.
|
I thought it was very funny...I liked it as much as the first one. I spit my popcorn out when his pubic hair went into the cake. Cant wait till it comes out on dvd.
|
I finally saw this on Sunday with a "crowd" of about 5 people... you're right, Halx, that's no way to see a comedy. All the jokes seemed to fall flat. It seemed like a slow-paced movie... 20 minutes of plot to set up one joke.
|
I saw the movie and i thought it was pretty good. Although it seemed like they made stiffler a bit different and overacted. Overall though i think it was worth what i payed to see it.
|
It wasn't as good as the first, but much better than the second.
|
i've just seen it, and everybody here is right. Stiffler was way OTT,
he was more of a charicature of Stiffler. Plus it was too soppy for me, my girlfriend came out saying 'its lovely'. thats not the kind of thing you're supposed to say about an alleged gross out movie |
