i was under the impression that just because it is dubbed, you could just switch the audio to japanese.
The Bebop dub isnt horrific, but as a general rule.. it's almost ALWAYS better to watch it in it's intended language. Unless you cant read so fast, or the subtitles are in neon yellow with green outlines. (no shit, it happens)

BTW.. keep looking on that site.. i just bought Hellsing for 26 bucks.. heck i might even pop for evangaleon too..

Sooo cheap!

Yes, so true. Princess Mononoke is one of those rare cases that actually has an impact on the viewer. It is definately greatness incarnate. Ashitaka was one good protagonist. I was a bit shocked when he shot that arrow at the one raider but then realised how different Japanese cartoons are then North American cartoons.

I used to watch Pokemon and Dragon Ball Z but the repetativeness finally got to me. I couldn't stand to watch more episodes of just 2 fighters powering up and thinking panicky thoughts anymore. Dragon Ball Z consisted of about 10 major fights and it had like 350 episodes. Each fight would have at least 4-5 episodes where nothing really happened except they would insult each other, power up, transform, and maybe throw 3 punches and shoot a rock.

Lol...you must be reading my mind. Dragon Ball Z is the type of anime that gives anime a bad name and prevents it's exposure to North America due to it's crappiness. Limited animation and bad artwork, terrible storylines, horrible dialogue, dubbing, etc.

This is an easy answer... Berserk, that show had me cravin the next ep like it was crack.... well then it got to the end... Damn I gotta say that 801 TTS Airbats gets an honorable mention cuz it was so damn funny.
Other honorable mentions include initial D, GTO, Ranma and Slam Dunk.

I was severly dissapointed by Kenshin and Evangelion... but thats a whole other story...

Easily Cowboy Bebop. I went out and bought the entire DVD set as it came out; cost me nearly $200.00 for 6 DVD's! It was worth it though; great series.

There are lots of good ones in series and full length movies. My favorite movie of all time would be Golgo 13. Hitman, guns, chase scene. It has it all exept for the second movie.
And for series:
1. Tie (Naruto - Dragonall to GT)
2. Cowboy Bebob
3. Trigun
4. Inu Yasha
5. Hellsing
6. GunGrave
7. Hokuto No Ken
8. Mahoromatic
9. The Soultaker
10.AD Police

boom29 10-14-2004 11:38 PM

Most of my favorite series have already been mentioned, but here they go:

Witch Hunter Robin
Full Metal Alchemist
Gunslinger Girl
Initial D
Scrapped Princess
Love Hina
Ranma 1 1/2

I'm sure there's others, I just can not remember.

LeviticusMky 10-16-2004 07:28 PM

Evangenlion... Obviously. I watched this series when I was in high school and it pretty much screwed up the rest of my Anime watching for the next five years. I'm finally over it now, and can watch things and not have to compare them to Neon Genesis anymore... such a fantastic series...

Others?
Well, more votes for Cowboy Bebop and Lain, Trigun is fantastic as well.

If you want a couple of great one-nighters, I'd definately take the advice of the Studio Ghibli fans. Spirited Away was awe-inspiring. Princess Mononoke is great too, if a bit oversold.

Soooo much anime...

Jared Jones 10-18-2004 04:32 PM

My favs are Hellsing, Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, Ghost in a shell, and The Voltage fighters seriers. Dragon ball Z is good too
