Anybody seen the short live film called Batman: Dead End?

I read that they showed it at the San Diego ComiCon this year but of course I had to miss it.

I did a search on Google and could only find references to the ComiCon viewing.

I know that there are some pictures from it posted on AICN but I was curious if anybody else has seen or know more about the short film.

Holy crap! This was the first I'd heard of the movie, and I was definitely not expecting the appearance of -those- characters. It was also way more professional that I anticipated. Worth every second of download time, can't thank you enough, Gnort!

I find the "surprise" stupid and senseless, but whatever. I do think that the Joker is dead on though.

Thank you for posting this Bone saw, and thank you Madshinji for posting a working link. It was very impressive, and actually had me more entralled than the only other action movie I have seen recently, Daredevil.

Oh and Madshinji, the mods don't really like to release the exact amount of posts for "upgrades". But I would say that 2x what you have now is very close to the Tilted (all access more or less) status. Good luck getting there, and with quality posts like the link to the movie I am sure you will get there soon.

I do remember reading a couple Batman v. Predator mini-series and they did recently do a Batman v. Alien crossover....so i guess it's not that uncommon....but damn is it a good short!

Would've been better if they kept to BATMAN... I mean kudos for getting all those Predator and Alien costumes but that Batman/Joker bit was supremely awesome.

No. But I'm tempted to pick up the Batman Beyond since its on DVD and it looks like it would be worth it.

I found that site by accident when I was looking for the Dead End film. Nice accidental find though.

I did hear from a friend that the batman beyond one was kinda bad...probably best if you could find it with out shelling out the cash for it. The other one looks pretty good from the stills

I saw this...thought it was poop. It started off so well to....Joker looked great, Batman slowly standing up in the dark alley (cool cape action)..but then the dialouge started. The character design of both Batman and The Joker were better than I have seen in any of the WB films...but aside from that...

They did a good job on the costumes and sound effects. Not bad at all!

When you think about it, there's no way Batman could have beaten the Alien. Since he has no ranged attack (only hand-to-hand), he'd be burned by the acid.

When i think about it, as soon as the Joker was snatched up it went the way of the horrible. Even when the Predator shot the Alien, the acid would have splashed all over Batman, effectivly killing him.

Costumes and production value are good. Script and choreography need a lot of work.

This was made as a pitch for a new Batman series on TV. I don't know about the second half, but the first half was promising.

I thought it was awful. Fanboy masturbation.

A good reason we dont like to give out exact numbers for "upgrades" is that people will just post to get to that number, and then lurk for months.
Screw that.. it takes $$ to run a board of this size; If you cant donate..at least contribute. Also we're always changing the numbers :) Gotta keep you sneaky types on your toes.

impressive for a fan film. I love the shot of batman standing up out of the puddle. Pretty wild. Once the Alien and the Predator show up I have to say A+ on the constumes, but that's about all the praise I can give. It just becomes too much. Glad I watched it though, and glad that it was made. For how good the Predator and Alien constumes were, I wish they had done more with Batman's costume. :D

I agree on the batman/puddle shot. The way the cape is spread all out as he's crouching and it gathers around him as he stands up is exactly how I imagine batman

I was at ComicCon this year but only on Saturday. I dont think I was there for this. I did catch the panel for Underworld, Hellboy, Spiderman 2 and Van Heilsing and I might add that they look bad ass! Downloading now! Thanks so much!

I agree...I thought it was killer until it took a bizzarre twist.

Underworld looks badass!! And the banners for Doc Oc where cool.

I finally saw the full trailer for Underworld and can't wait to check it out. But anyways...I liked Dead End, only thing that bothered me was 1.) the Alien and 2.) how it ended. The fight with Batman vs. the Predator was well done without being over the top. Overall, well done.

Negative. This was made by a director to showcase his directing talents, and nothing more.

I'm neutral on the Alien and Predator thing, but the dialogue between Batman and The Joker was shit. It was acted well, but the lines were incredibly lame. Other than that, I have no real problems with it, other than that I don't quite understand why so many people are raving about it so much. It's cool, sure, but there's many people calling it "The best vision of Batman ever" when there's not that much there, I don't think it's fair to call it the best ever when it's only 8 minutes of a couple fight scenes.

don't get your hopes up to high. it's not a movie but a fan film that this director created to be his calling card so to speak. this is the same guy who directed Insomnia.

it's hard to believe that "Boner" from the TV series "Growing Pains" plays the joker in this. this is the best portrayal and most accurate version to the joker i have yet to witness.

that was an awesome movie short!! I loved the cape ascension scene.

You shouldn't have titled it that way...

Much better of a surprise without the revelation of those two aspects of the film.

There are various other shorts films that are worth watching here as well. As I understand it some top holleywood producers were so impressed that he's actually been comissioned to start a seriou big budget shoot. Well see.

I saw this short a while ago. it's awesome. I'm excited about the new Batman movie because Christian Bale has been officially cast as Batman.

Is this worth the 6 hour download time?

I just watched this and I thought it was very cool.

I'm having trouble playing it. I have quicktime 6.3, it says a component is missing.

I was able to play the small version but not the large. Awesome movie though, IMO the whole thing was great. When I saw the Joker taken away by the alien I was thinking: didn't see that one coming lol

I saw ths earlier today and I was like 'What the hell?!?" I thought it was, well, weird, yet cool.

It was pretty cool. I thought that it was funny when the Joker got taken away by the alien. :lol:
