Dragon Age + Felicia Day = Dragon Age Redemption

I think I just scorched my shorts!

Summer 2011! Felicia Day starring as an elf!

Quote:
Dragon Age: Redemption is an upcoming webseries based on the BioWare series of the same name. It is created by and starring Felicia Day, creator and star of the webseries The Guild. Day will be playing Tallis, an Elven assassin. Filming began in early January. Little other information is known, other than that Felicia has enlisted the help of many prior Hollywood acquaintances and that six episodes will air at a date to later be determined.

I follow Felicia Day on twitter and have been reading about her #mysteryproject she has been working on. I love the idea and love that it will be a web series. I like the idea that the control of producing media like this is out of the corporate media hands. Felicia is gamer and will do this justice.

Now... if only Nathan Fillion would be able to buy Firefly and make a web series out of it. My life would be complete.

As many of you know, I'm an avid fan of Dragon Age, because its probably the most elaborate, most inventive, genius game project of all time. I eagerly anticipate its sequel, due out in a bit more than two weeks.
But, I fucking HATE Felicia Day. I've yet to like her acting, or singing, or anything. My friends and I were talking about this a few weeks ago. And I expressed my sincere disgust in her starring in it.
For her sake, she better not fuck up my Dragon Age. Or I might have to kick her ass.

I look forward to watching the web series even if I haven't played the game.

But how do you really feel? XD

The trailer has me at a level of full ambivalence. It could end up being cool. It could end up being kinda meh. I had a ton of fun playing DA:O and I'm generally a fan of Felicia Day, but she hasn't shown much in the way of range when it comes to her acting. I like that she's actually a gamer and has become something of an icon for actual girls who game (as opposed to Olivia Munn who just cashes in on pretending), but she worked as Penny in Dr. Horrible and Codex in The Guild because I basically think that's how she is.

The Dragon Age universe is dark and gorey and, largely, unpleasant. I'll be interested to see if this web series will pull that off or if it'll end up looking like LARP'ing. The trailer, as I said, shows portents of both in equal measure.

I just hope this doesn't delay creating the next season of The Guild.

Also, I don't think I've ever seen this video on TFP:

Pfffft hot? No, hardly.
Her lower face matches the face of the fairy godmother from Cinderella, and that just freaks me out. I dont find her attractive at all.

Maybe SETI is named after me, maybe I'm that famous.

Anyways, side note, all you Dragon Age fans, on Steam, the Dragon Age 2 Demo is available to play. And I suggest you do. I'm doing it right now

I have seen the Guild and for me it is not that good, if it were it would have been pitched to one of the networks(abc, nbc, cbs, fox, tnt, hbo, showtime, ect....), but it was not to my knowledge. As for Day's acting ability, I would rank her as good as most Soap actors, which is not to say she is not good, but she is not prime-time. I also think she knows it and that is why she went with a web-series. Doing a web-series is like what bands did in the early days of MTV, which got them noticed by not just record companies but new fans as well. As someone who has been gaming since 1977 I too hope she does not screw this up.

I apparently failed to notice the replies in this thread since I posted in it, but I just want to point out that if you'd told me there was a video of Felicia Day wearing a latex fetish outfit, there is no conceivable universe in which I would've believed it to be as insanely boring and painfully unfunny as that video was. And, as someone who both has a bit of a thing for latex and a bit of a thing for Felicia Day, that makes me sad.
