Jersey Shore... really....

Ok so the premise of the show is to stick the biggest douchebags and bitches you can find, appeal to their sense of narcissism, and shake it at you like a box of things you know you want to make fun of.

What's funny about it all is I fully went in to watching these free episodes online fully intending to write about how stupid it was, or make fun of them for being douches (thank you adblock for not having to watch any commercials whatsoever) but some of the dudes are legitimately funny with the one liners, and I realize i'm getting the cut/copy/paste treatment where they only show the best footage that didn't hit the floor, I'm sure if you film me for long enough, i might even seem worth watching if I feed it to you in 10 minute segments (ok maybe not)

still I was surprised that I was actually looking forward to watching this show again o.O

is that the trick behind reality tv to suck you in or what?

It's not so much the pleasure I get out of watching it for it's surface content, but for watching them fail so hard at times that you can't help but laugh. There is a scene where they have a couple girls wanting to come home with them, they ditch them for some girls that are driving by, then take them home instead... then the original girls show up again at their place and hilarity ensues.

It's like watching 20-somethings re-enact my teenage years or something, I can't help but laugh.

I guess there are shows I like to mentally stimulate me, but I think this one falls in to the equivalent of reading 3 panel comic strips, it's just schadenfreude humor at it's finest.

... AND THEN I READ YOUR OP

Did you watch this man?

I mean, they weren't clever at all from the short clips I have seen online. Jersey Shore is a NEW LOW of reality TV.

Shauk 12-24-2009 11:17 PM

I've seen it.

apparently you haven't considering you just said "from the short clips i have seen online"

I can't make an honest argument saying this show is worth seeing, but it's not a "new low" by any means. Like i said, it's got a few funny moments.

Halx 12-25-2009 08:32 AM

...well it certainly has a lot of people talking about it.

Yeah... apparently some Italians are offended by the "Guido and Guidette" thing. Even if it's true.

Based on the clips, it looks like they recruited for the show from www.HotChickswithDouchebags.com.

No, really.

Shauk, but I have watched an episode of Jersey shore on MTV (complete with the maybelene commercials) and they are worse than the site mentioned above. It's like a magnifying glass on so many people and I have a hard time believing they are just goofing off for the camera.

I leave you with more unfunny thoughts to ponder.

This was their lowest, I've not seen anything sink lower. I was still working there when this incident happened in 2001.

Teens Sue MTV Over Defecation Incident? | Billboard.com
MTV apologized yesterday (April 5) to two 14-year-old girls who said they were splattered with feces when an act defecated on stage during a taping of the music channel's show "Dude, This Sucks."

"This is a terrible incident. It was unintended and we regret that it happened," Brian Graden, the cable channel's president for programming, said in a statement. He added that the episode would never be aired and that he had taken steps to see that such an event never happens again. "We are sorry if these women were hurt. It is certainly never our intention to hurt anyone," he said.

Graden said the network had just learned that the girls are suing MTV, adding that the company "will respond accordingly through the legal process."

The teen-agers said they were standing next to a stage on Jan. 21 at the Snow Summit Ski Resort in California's San Bernardino mountains, watching a two-man act called Shower Rangers during videotaping of a "Snowed In" segment of the MTV show.

"Without warning or explanation the two Shower Rangers turned their backsides to the audience, both opened a flap on the back of their shorts, exposing their naked buttocks," the girls' attorney Gloria Allred said. "Before they could say or do anything, the Shower Ranger whose buttocks faced them bent over, spread the cheeks of his buttocks and emitted a spray of fecal matter," the lawyer said.

Monique Garcia and Kelli Sloat of Big Bear Lake, Calif., are seeking unspecified general, compensatory and punitive damages, claiming intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligence and battery.

I don't watch reality shows since I worked on many of them. They just aren't all that interesting to me. When I did see the trailers for this I was shocked as I just couldn't describe how over the top this was, but hey, if people support it by watching it, and advertisers support it, who am I to just turn off the TV or just change the channel and watch something I do like.

YouTube- Snooki Street Fighter

THAT is awesome lol

As someone from NJ, I'm just embarrassed.:shakehead: I think only one of the cast is actually from NJ. They should just name this show "Long Island"... Atleast the state would be more accurate.
