Really, you want good TV, watch HBO or Showtime. Otherwise it's a throw of the dice.

awe, Why is this thread in Tilted Life? I totally would have replied to it sooner..
It does suck when good shows get cancelled before they actually get to do anything, but it sucks even worse when a show just keeps going and refuses to die.. Smallville and ER come to mind.. Smallville should have ended like 3 years ago and ER finally ended about 5 years too late. |

It's gotta be hard to stretch what may have been a good 2 hr sci-fi (or is that SYFY) flick over a 13 week season. |
syndication only enters the picture when deciding to keep a show on when the channel its on owns the production company of the show. Otherwise, the channel gains nothing from syndication. Scrubs is the best example. It was produced by ABC, but shown on NBC. When NBC decided to not renew them for another season, ABC decided to show it themselves because, although it wasnt that good of a ratings, it did well on syndication.

Stare at the Sun: HBO is guilty of axing a good show too. Carnivale only lasted 2 seasons and should have gone at least another season. I love that show. FreakyLinks got canceled several years ago after 1 season. I really liked that show and Ethan Embry is one of my favorites. They haven't even put the show out on DVD the last time I checked. It's probably dated now and kind of stupid, but it was awesome when it came out. |

I didn't like how HBO left Deadwood hanging.

The Executive Producer and most of the writers abandoned ship to create John From Cincinnati, which got canned after one season. That was a shame, too - I really liked JFC. But I agree - Deadwood was one of my all-time favorite shows - and I've been watching TV a long time. |
