It actually may have started with 30 Days of Night in late 2007, but what do I know of the trends that television, literature, & film follow? All I know is that it has recently converged massively in my mind of the thoughts of how many different vampire chronicles are being publicized at this very moment. My thoughts on the film is that this may be the one film in the last 10 months (and perhaps following 6 months) that gets me standing in line for the opening day matinee.

I don't think the vampire trend has ever faded. Multiple vampire movies are released every single year. Not all of them are big budget, but Hollywood will tap into this genre whenever it has nothing else on its plate.
Vampires are elitists, so its odd to see that the entire human race has been turned. |
