Bionic woman

Has anyone check this new show out yet ,saw the first 2 episodes ,and they were awesome just hope they can keep it that way.

Xazy 10-17-2007 02:54 AM

I saw the first 2 episodes, thought it had potential, but it did not grab me enough to continue to watch.

Moyaboy 10-18-2007 03:07 AM

Yes, I did. I am now a watcher of this show. The girls are great. I am really happy that 'starbuck' is on this show.

Cynthetiq 10-18-2007 03:37 AM

Eh, I didn't find it all that interesting. I tried to be open minded with it.

Willravel 10-18-2007 07:19 AM

It has potential, I agree. So far it's not grabbed me but it still has a chot in the next 3 or 4 episodes. Eick needs to take a lesson from Battlestar, ignore the network and leave the standalones. People want story archs, and if the network argues, point at Lost or Heroes, which are essentially of the same vein and are madly successful.

I really enjoy Bionic Woman. I think they are developing the story nicely. I look forward to more.

they've just shown episode 3 here. It is not a fantastic show, but neither is it terrible. I'll keep watching.

Meh. The acting is mediocre, the tone unnecessarily somber, and the plot developments bizarre and oddly paced (bartender to bionic soldier to bartender to sometimes soldier thisquick). Also, the agency she works for is like a parody of better shows.

Actually, the more I think about it, the more I'm convinced that the creators of this show need to sit down with seasons 1-4 of La Femme Nikita before writing any future episodes. In that show, Nikita worked at Section 1, which was also a semi-governmental secret agency with advanced technology, questionable morals, and a laser-like focus on stopping unrealistically organized and funded "terrorist" groups that can only exist in Hollywood. Furthermore, the agency was headed by Operations, a humorless man whose capacity for cruelty was matched only by his demand for results. He was assisted by his trusted advisor Madeleine, an utterly stone-faced and seemingly emotionless - but completely loyal - middle-aged psychologist with a brilliant mind and iron will. Nikita was a beautiful young woman forced into becoming a soldier for Section 1 against her will, but succeeded despite the odds because of her unorthodox methods, strong moral compass, and willingness to buck authority. Her teacher/mentor was Section's top agent, Michael, a man completely dedicated to his work who eventually began a dangerous romantic affair with Nikita at the conclusion of season two, exactly as I'm positive Jaime's mentor/teacher will.

In summary: Bionic Woman is a crappy knockoff of La Femme Nikita, and David Eick should know better, because Battlestar Galactica is like the greatest thing ever.

P.S. No insult intended for Ms. Katie Sackhoff, who is far, far better than her material in this show.

I haven't seen anything other than the pilot yet, but I just wanted to say that as much as people joke about Ronald D. Moore being the brains behind BSG, I think it's pretty true. RDM has some excellent credits to his name (Star Trek TNG & DS9, Roswell, Carnivale, BSG) whereas the only really good thing Eick has done is BSG.

hagatha 10-24-2007 05:12 PM

I like it so far. I like the feel of it, very gritty. Hopefully they will continue with character development.

God of Thunder 10-30-2007 03:50 PM

I like it so far, very intriguing. But then I get to episode 6 where Jaime has to "pretend" to be British, which of course Michelle Ryan really is. And well, I have a thing for pretty girls with English accents, so now, I'm hooked.

Outside of that, I think the show has great potential.

Kung Fu Kid 10-31-2007 09:15 AM

Not as interesting as the older series. It seems to me that the older version had more action.

Jadast 10-31-2007 06:27 PM

I like my action heros flawed. Jamie has issues that make her more real to me. I enjoy this show and hope to see the characters round out.

Willravel 10-31-2007 06:32 PM

Skipped this week? Ugh.

Willravel 11-28-2007 09:38 PM

Maybe Eick is stuck with Battlestar, but Bionic Woman is now all the unenjoyable parts of spy/scifi series on tv for the last 7 years. It has the unbelievability of Alias (instead of Alias's strong suits: characters, drama, directing, acting), it has all the mood of Roswell (instead of Roswell's strong suits: writing, pretty faces, scope), the writing of Lost after the first season (instead of the strong suits: action, characters, drama)... I mean it's like they're trying to get it cancelled.

This show is making me miss Alias.

Titan_Uranus 11-28-2007 10:29 PM

I agree with Will ,this show is loosing it's appeal.

Charlatan 11-29-2007 05:30 AM

From what the NBC rep told me yesterday, there will only be 8 or 9 eps for this... the writer's strike has shut down the production.

The horror that is the writers strike!

As long as it doesn't affect the science channel or playboy TV I"m fine with it.
