Given how crap the FF movie was, I'm not getting my hopes up.
So far, the best superhero films, IMO, have been about the characters that have also been the best and most successful in the comics, because of how they speak to us and to our more basic feeling - the various Batman, Spidey, Superman and X-Men films, and also the ones that know how to make fun of themselves such as Blade. Everything else, so far - DD, FF, Catwoman, Electra, Punisher, Hulk - has just been mediocre versions of mediocre comic books, IMO. I look forward to the big characters being done well, I suppose, but all the others have been disappointing so I can't get my hopes up. Sorry to be a downer!

verily I say thee nay... *lights the almighty bong of justice*
yeah i agree to a point.. they suck granted.. but im going to see my heros on the screen. plot what plot? understand it takes 6 mos. to get a plot going in a comic then 2 years to have a resolve heh. cram 12 years of xmen in 2 hours. they did good.. cram 23 years of FF.. well thats the problem. its the support of movies i go in the hopes they do a good one. like Thor or Ironman. IMO honestly SS is a bad idea. he is the hearld of big planet eating Glactius (sp?) that isnt a good plot. mass people want down to earth plots not a cosmic scale plot. why it would be hard to do an avengers movie somewhat with out resorting to aliens or shar stuff. but i go on and on and on.. sorry In now way are you a downer. As fans we have every right to say "Omfgwtfpwnrolocopter" that movie sucked or didnt suck.. etc..

Yeah the first one was terrible. Like laugh out loud, cringe, walk out of the theater bad. Hopefully the director learned something from it. It still amazes me how movies like Spiderman 2, Batman Begins, Hellboy, X-Men 2, V for Vendetta and Blade 2 can come out and kick ass and be just as good as classic movies, yet shit of Fantastic Four caliber is released along side of them. Keep in mind that my absolute favorite comic TV show when I was a kid was Fantastic Four. I had all of the comic books, all of the action figures, and even drew pictures of them I liked them so much, so I'm supposed to be biased towards them. Here's to hoping Fantastic Four 2 is good.

Well this is a pain in the ass. The first one was such a crapfest that I was sure they wouldn't make a second one, and even if they did, I sure as hell wasn't ponying up 8 bucks to see it. Now they go and throw in my favorite cosmic level character, and I'm torn. Damn you hollywood, damn you!
What I wanna know is, how are we already getting another Craptastic Four, and we are still waiting for quality like Hellboy 2? |

Yeah, the "cosmic charictors" are not going to make this a good movie. Like others have stated, the first Fantastic 4 was nearly unwatchable. I'm sure this will be another "rely on CGI eye-candy" and let the plot and charictor development be damned.
/Not going to get my $9, nor will it get my $3.99 from On Demand when it comes out.

The Thing still looks horrible. Although I do like the Silver Surfer, first impression does is that they did not do him justice. He looks so damn cartoony and CGI, I'd expect him to at least look life-like. Don't even get me started on Jessica Alba as Susan Storm.
Over all, expectation for this movie is pretty low. I'll probably go watch it just for the Silver Surfer, but I'll brace for major suckage.

Yeah, Jessica Alba was great in....um....Dark Angel, but I never understood her in the role of Susan Storm as a comic fan. I understand completly from the standpoint of the producers (Alba = sex $$), but I'm not a producer. Who would I choose for Susan Storm? Obvously Vera Farmiga from The Departed.

Wow. Am i the only one that like the first FF movie? I admit, I didn't like what they did with Doom, but I thought they did a great job with the others. Thing was dead on, Torch was funny as hell, and Sue and Mr Fantastic were just as boring as they are in the comic. The effects were good, the plot was, well, it was a comic book plot. Not one of the good ones, but hey. It was good eye candy, and it kept me entertained. I'm looking forward to the second one. I want to see what they do with the Surfer.
