I wasn't a big fan of last night's episode for many reasons, but mainly because they didn't explain what happened to Andy... he just wasn't there. (I know they explained it in the extended version, but you'd think they could devote a sentence or two of dialogue in the primetime version to explain his absence.)
I did laugh at the homosexual references that Michael made which created some classic awkward moments... "Who wants some man meat?" and "We're having a guy shower." and "It's an hour-long shower with guys." haha My favorite part was at the very end when Dwight was still trying to trip up "Ben Franklin" and Dwight screams out in frustration. That was hilarious. |
I have to agree last night wasn't as good. Pam did seem out of sorts. That whole talk about sleep was really weird. It had been awhile since we had seen Roy, I wonder if we will be seeing him more as he tries to win back Pam. I did like Dwight's reply to Michael. "I want some man meat!" Hilarious.
|
I quite enjoyed this episode. The shot of Michael and Ryan at the Sex shop, surrounded by pixelated packages was a stroke of cinematic genius. What a great way to play with censorship.
As for Pam's lack of confidence, I like the symmetry that she has now traded places with Jim from the first season. Now she is the impotent flirter on the sidelines yet completely out of her depth. A small gag that made me laugh out loud was when Stanley tried to cut into his stake with the flimsy plastic cutlery. His "Of course..." made me howl. It's far too early to predict the season finale and how the Jim, Karen and Pam triangle will be resolved, but I'm hoping for a drunken threesome in the copy room. |
I'm excited to see whats going to happen when Andy comes back from Anger management.
|
I doubt that will happen in the broadcast version of the show. Things that don't make air aren't cannon.
|
In case there are some of you who don't read the 3 or 4 office related websites out there, it has been verified that Ed Helms, who plays Andy will be on for the rest of this season. Rashida Jones, who plays Karen, has not been signed on for the remainder of the season, as of yet.
This Thursday's episode is called Phyllis' Wedding. I wonder what it will be about... Office bloggers and forum chatters are anxious for the next big Jim and Pam moment, and are hoping something substantial happens between them in this episode. In my last post I mentioned I was looking for your thoughts on the JAM get together time line. Feel free to comment on that as well if you feel so inclined. |
well seeing as jim is still with karren, they need to have a break up episode and then an alone episode and then a flirting episode and finally, a jim and pam together episode. so if jim is still with karren 4episode from the end, don't expect the JAM till season 4 or 5.
in phylis' wedding, i hope we get some better stuff from pam and roy maybe they'll think about how their's would have been? |

altoid? michael was fucking painful in this episode...the show is great at uncomfortable situations, but i was writhing around, pulling my sleeves down over my arms, trying to hide in the couch. ouch!!!
|
Most episodes, I like that Michael is so over-the-top and a complete attention whore... but episodes like tonight, I have to say that I feel almost embarassed watching him.
|
agreed! he went completely out of the way. the roy pam story went pretty well tonight! and phylis is fucking insane!! she stole pam's wedding!!!
i love the way they brought back some jim-dwight pranks. although i feel the documentary style of the show is going a bit out the way - i mean the old guy almost got run over by a car and the film crew didn't help him back? it seemed weird. who thinks pam-roy are gonna get back together?!? |
Micheal was painful to watch this episode. Jim's prank went a little too far with the old man. And yep, I definitely think Roy and Pam - RAM?, will be back together for a while more. Fun stuff ahead.
|
Most of the Office dedicated forums that I frequent were very harsh critics of this episode. It's nice to see some pretty favourable reports from my Office loving TFP cronies. I think this episode was pretty good. Most of the comments here have centred on Michaels over-the-top awkwardness. I think it was great. That is what Michael is supposed to be. Awkward. He's supposed to make us want to just crawl in a hole and hide from him. He's brilliant.
I think most of us regular viewers could see a Roy Pam (hereafter known as RAM) reunion coming this season. Part of me is angry that this had to happen, because it's an obvious plot obstacle getting in the way of the JAM union. But part of me wants the Jim Pam drama to continue the way it's been going; with the two of them so obviously in love with each other but not together yet. Some people are frustrated with the writers and are saying "ENOUGH ALREADY! Get them together!" Not me. I say draw it out. Just as long as there's some boinkenberry JAM by the end of S3. lol |
I wasn't a big fan of this episode. The last two have sort of left me cold.
I know Michael has been a caricature, he has been since s01e01, but the last couple episodes, he's been a caricature of a caricature. The last line he said that I BELIEVED was "I want them to kiss my ass because they genuinely love me." |
The last episode was probably my least favorite of this season, but it still had me laughing a lot. I think the show is so good that even the worst episodes are funnier than most of the other comedies on tv now.
|
I didn't like Michael in this one either. There is a fine line between a guy who isn't self aware and a guy who is going out of his way to ruin a wedding. Regardless of what the TV reviewers and Golden Globe voters think, this show DOES NOT star Steve Carrell. It's an ensemble comedy, and whenever it centers too much on Carrell, it's a detriment to the series
|
I agree with you, Derwood, in the sense that it IS an ensemble comedy and as such it should not overly focus on any one character. But I think that goes for all of the cast, not just Steve Carrell. I wouldn't want the show to centre too much on Michael Scott, but I'd also not want too much focus on Dwight, or Dwight and Angela, or even Jim and Pam. I like it when characters like Creed or Merideth get a little extra screen time. I like those characters, and it's nice when the writers spread the laughs around.
So here's a question. (We'll try another question, since my first one on the season finale didn't pan out...) Who is your favourite Office character, and why? I think mine is Jim. I love his facial expressions. He does get the lions share of good lines, and he delivers them amazingly well... He is a good actor. I think Steve Carrell is the best actor, but John Kras is an easy second. |
Quote:
although they're all pretty good. |
Jim. He has the most "real" stuff going on, and seems like the lone sane person in an office full of nutjobs
|
For sheer insanity per screen-second, Kelly wins hands down.
Fashion show! Fashion show! Fashion show at lunch! |
ah well if you're gonna include EVERYONE, then i guess Creed is my favorite Extra. everything he says or does is completely fucked up.
putting his name on the biggest gift at the wedding was crazy! |
I'd just like to say that I'm leaning towards wanting Jim to come to his senses and stay with the hotness that is Karen, and let this forbidden fruit Pam business blow over.
|
Quote:
Personally, I like that Jim is with Karen right now... I think she adds another dimension to the JAM storyline, and it's interesting to see how she deals with JAM's history, but we all know it won't last... just like Pam and Roy didn't last in last season. |
Yeah, I hear you, and I know that I'm apparently in the minority. I don't think any of us can predict 20 years down the line; but I've found that those little friend crushes usually don't end up well romantically. If Karen is that hot for 10 years, that's a bargain ;) But she's also sharp, and she went balls out to take a shot with Jim. I think that speaks pretty well for her...and after a certain point, I think being happy with someone for 20 years is as much act of choice as it is any sort of "destiny."
|
Like Pigglet, I too believe that Jim should be focused on Karen. At least until Sweeps and finale time anyway. Of course he and Pam should get together in the end, but if imagine for a second that Jim was TFP member JAM2GETHER4EVER and posted in Tilted Sexuality about his Situation:
Quote:
If he were to post about his situation, I imagine most would tell him to take decisive action one way or another. Either ditch Pam and be true to his current girlfriend, or break Karen's heart and take his lumps. I lean towards the former. Pam sends mixed signals and the writers are slowly but surely revealing Karen's attractive attributes; singing at the wedding for example. The more we see of Karen's positive traits, the more Jim looks like a douche. I'd rather they make Jim aloof and focus on Pam's storyline as the forlorn outsider. I can't believe how much I just wrote about this. |
I think you should change your avatar to reflect your fanboy love of the office.
|
Fresnelly - I'm so with you on everything but the "of course, they (Jim and Pam) should eventually get together. The only way that should happen is if they write me into the plot, and I take Rashida Jones off and do wonderful things with her, and her personality is similar to that of her character. While we're at it, she puts me on allowance which is always more than I can spend, all I do is play banjo and work out every day and use recreational drugs, and we sit around and laugh about that Jim guy - who was great and funny and is my favorite character - who ended up with Pam - also a great person - in a trailer park in scranton. rashida and i are living in the islands at this point.
i really like that idea. think she'd go for it? :) |
It could be worse.
Just the word: Quote:
Michael/Dwight is just too easy. |
bastid:
you must stop. i fell onto some sort of LOTR fan fic. I really don't know what kind of reaction I was supposed to have, so I just sat there and thought "this is the craziest shit ever." although, i think we could return to your hope for a Jim/Pam/Karen thing as being an ok place to start. |
The physical comedy in last nights episode I thought was brilliant. I was a little drunk by the time I got to watch it (had a few beers with the boys), but I was laughing my ass off. Jim showing vampiric symptoms was hillarious.
|
The stunts with the bat were unbelievable. I'm dying to watch the DVD commentary on this episode.
|
After the last two episodes, I really wish they'd pull Michael's seeming imbalance and idiocy back a little bit. His conduct a the wedding, seemingly with little consequence from the people around him, and the sheer stupidity he displayed in the talk for the class make me much less interested in his character.
I've been pondering the commentary on the small business vs. the national / international chain businesses, and what statement the writers are making about the management of the small business world. I'm curious if they're going to end the show with D-M closing its doors, and if that closing will be attributed to crazy managerial styles like Michael? Do we want a less efficient, but more personal world or not? These types of things. |
I don't know, I think Michael's best moments are when he's thwarted or offended in some way, and momentarily recognizes himself as absurd. At the wedding, he never had that moment of self-reflection, and just kept getting bigger and weirder. At Business School, he did, and he reacted to it as only Michael could. I find Michael much funnier when he's doing what he did at the end of his "lecture"... stomping up the steps yelling "Suck on THAT!"
|
Micheal: "i'm not gonna fire you, you're moving in the Anix"
Ryan: "the Anix? you mean where Kelly is?" hahaha!! I loved this episode!!! but now that she knows that everyone thinks her art is mediocre, maybe she'll think Roy's comments are fake as hell. |
Quote:
|
i am gonna have to stay outta this thread till I get caught up - watched Season 1 on Monday and Disc 1 of season 2 today.. sounds like its worth the catch up!
|
I can't believe no one has mentioned the end of the episode with Michael and Pam!!! That was one of the best/most emotional moments in Office history. The writers of this show really know how to make Michael absurd up until the point where it's ridiculous and then bring him back down to a humanistic level where he is actually capable of human interaction. He made Pam's night and was the kindest person who went to the art show. On top of that, his interest in her art was genuine, showing again his personality and emotional elements.
Michael throwing the candy bars at the students had me laughing out loud, but the very best part of the episode was the end with Michael and Pam. |
I liked the episode a lot. The lecture was classic. Ryan's build up before the lecture was a great touch.
Pam's art show was frustrating, though, for a few reasons. First off, Jim didn't show up. We know that a) Pam wished Jim was there, and b) Jim probably really wanted to go, and had to force himself not to. We were all waiting for him to show up, right? And then..... it's Michael instead. :grumpy: Michael might have been supportive, but he's an idiot, which helps explain why he liked her crappy art. Which brings me to my next point... I was really sad to see that Pam's art did, indeed, suck. I've been assuming that she's this incredibly talented artist, and she's just under appreciated. I was hoping this would be the time where Jim comes through as the only one to see the beauty in it. But, he wasn't there, and the art was crappy anyway. I wanted this to be Pam's moment of secret glory, or something. Instead, we just see that's she's as lonely as ever. But the best part was, by far, Jim's vampiric transformation. Ha, when he peered back over his raised collar, looking like Nosferatu, I was dying. Dwight's comment of "One crisis at a time" was perfect Dwight. And Jim having the foresight to cover himself from the light as he's walking across the parking lot was fantastic. |
Quote:
|
I love the way that Jim is always screwing with Dwight! Pure comedy.
|
got to nbc.com and watch the deleted scenes to see why Jim didn't go to the art show
|
Quote:
|
For some reason I cannot view the deleted scenes since they changed the format of that page... so can someone give me a rundown as to why Jim didn't go? That's rundown, not to be confused with a rubdown.
Thanks... |
oh and BTW, this is important. since RYAN is moving in the back, JIM will get his desk back! meaning that HE will be facing PAM and seeing her with roy all the fucking time. how sickening is that eh? and then Karren will see him looking at pam all the time. oh man. crazy! and with Andy comming back soon, this should be interesting!
Quote:
|
right, that was basically it. they hinted that Karen was going to go out of her way to make sure Jim didn't know about the show
|
Quote:
Creed: Sure. Dwight: To use sudden violence... Creed: Okay. Dwight: Do you have an implement to turn a broom handle into a wooden stake? Creed (sliding his desk drawer open): What size? |
Tomorrow night is Cocktails, and one of the storylines involves Michael and Jan outting their relationship, which will undoubtedly bring about some very awkward moments.
The last three shows have been pretty Michael-heavy. Some people like that, and others don't. To each their own. I think that the sweeps eps will most likely be pretty JAM heavy, and I really like that. |
Quote:
|
Holy shit... best. episode. ever. I could not stop laughing... Michael's Delorean comment sent me over the edge. It was a perfect balance of progressing the storylines while throwing in those outrageous comedic moments.
|
Wow. RAM didn't last very long. The temper tantrum Roy and his brother threw did a great job of conveying why he is all wrong for Pam. Will be fun to see what happens between Roy and Jim.
|
Roy: "I'm gonna kill Jim Halpert"
wow. what a crazy episode! and they finally explain why Andy is missing. Karren: "and one is in anger management" |
Loved it!
Karen's prank was fantastic. It takes a lot to fool Halpert, and she played it out perfectly. |
JJ Abrams (of Alias and Lost fame) directed this episode, so to have that cliffhanger seemed really appropriate.
I thought it was a really well done episode. Michael was awkward, yet subdued, Dwight was out and out hilarious. I thought the JAM progress was great, and I'm glad that the RAM seems to be done for now. But I mean, we thought Jim and Karen were done after Jim admitted he still had feelings for Pam. And they weren't. So who knows what could happen. At least 4 weeks till the next new Office. It is going to be a long, long drought of Officelessness. |
what? what is this crap of 4 weeks til the next new episode? they can't do this, whoever they are.
you bastards!!! |
I seriously lost it laughing so hard when watching this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qlN2EoPBFE0 Stick around, it gets funny after the first 30 seconds or so oh man........ |
I saw this on Saturday as well, was a great, great opening monologue/sketch.
|
ok, so one of our newer members started a little office thread, and claimed that the new eps start 4/5. is this true? last i read, it was 4/12. i have in my palm pilot and everything. do i get satisfaction a week early?
|
I'm hearing April 5th, and it going to be 40 minutes long too!!!
|
yep.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=W-5sB6WtFe4 here is the video. but i think they give a HUGE spoiler in the extra 4seconds. look for yourself. as far as it goes, i can't wait for it to come back and see the stories with andy comming back. or if mike is still with jan. |
April 5 is the date. It's to be called "The Negotiation". Tomorrow is an Office Marathon hosted by Paul Lieberstein, who play's Toby.
I cannot wait for the new Office. It's been a long, long hiatus. Really looking forward to it. |
I'm excited to see how its going to play out between Roy and Jim. Maybe Dwight's purple belt will come in handy.
|
So I just got home from watching Blades of Glory... and for the rest of you guys out there who also have a slight crush on Pam (Jenna Fischer)... I highly recommend you see it. :D
|

check it out! for the ones who think pam's cute! |
There's also a great article in the episode about The Office. The feature article is about companies exposing their inner workings on blogs and wikis, and then there's this side article about this small Northeastern paper company called Dunder MIfflin that has brought a documentary crew into one of their more dysfunctional offices, and how sales have gone through the roof as a result. Hysterical!
|
On Two Continents, A Paper Partnership Unfolds
SCRANTON, Penn., March 31 — Michael Scott has a large banner hung across the Dunder-Mifflin branch office he manages here, emblazoned with the colors of the Union Flag: WELCOME BRITISH INVADERS. “It’s like the British Invasion,” Mr. Scott cheerfully explains. “Dunder-Mifflin and Wernham-Hogg, we’re going to be like the Beatles! The Beatles with Elvis. Because Elvis is American, and the Beatles are not. And actually, Elvis would probably get top billing. You know what? We should change the banner.” Increasingly threatened by ruthless competition from major office suppliers like Staples, U.S. paper company Dunder-Mifflin announced last week that it will merge with U.K.-based paper supplier Wernham-Hogg, which faces similar competitive trials in Europe. The $250 million deal is expected to close by the end of May, after which the companies hope to increase efficiency and expand opportunities for cross-selling their products. Curiously, both firms have been the subject of TV documentaries in their respective countries. A BBC crew followed a Wernham-Hogg office in Slough from 2001 to 2003, while a team of documentarians from NBC has chronicled the lives of Scranton’s Dunder-Mifflin branch since 2005. With both firms pledging no further layoffs, employees on either side of the Atlantic have greeted the merger with varying degrees of optimism. “I’m very excited,” Mr. Scott said. “It’s going to be a partnership. Two equal partners. Except that our side will be better. Because we’re from America. America is a bigger country, so of course we’re just naturally going to be better. Plus, we’re not sitting around all day, you know, drinking tea. We’re more productive. Hey, anyone up for a Starbucks run? Coffee? Anyone?” “Michael seems very enthusiastic about the merger,” said salesman Jim Halpert. “Very enthusiastic. I think he found some kind of British slang site on the Internet, but I’m not sure how much of it he read. He keeps going around saying he’s going to ‘take a butcher’s’ at the ‘apples and pears.’ Just those two phrases, over and over. He had to apologize to Angela [Martin, a fellow employee], because I think she got the wrong idea about what he meant.” In rainy Slough, Berkshire, Mr. Scott’s British counterpart is also looking forward to his firm’s new era of trans-Atlantic cooperation. “I see it like World War II, yeah?” said Wernham-Hogg regional manager Gareth Keenan. “The British and the Americans, fighting together, side by side, united against a common enemy. Except that no one’s dropping bombs on us, I guess. Which is good. Because I wouldn’t want to come in to work, and be, like, ‘Oh, I can’t use the copier, because someone’s dropped a bomb on it. And, like, Keith and them over there in accounting were caught in the explosion. And now Keith’s guts are all jammed in the machine, and it doesn’t work, and I need to make copies.’ That would be bad.” Mr. Keenan then looked at the copier for a long while, making what sounded like explosion noises under his breath. “I think it’s brilliant, yeah,” said David Brent, the previous manager of Wernham-Hogg’s Slough branch, now a freelance business consultant. “Mergers. Synergies. Meeting of the minds. It’s like, each company is a sandwich, right? And you take half of one sandwich, and half of the other, and you put them together to make a new sandwich. A better sandwich. Delicious. Novel. Unless it’s peanut butter and ham, because that would be disgusting. But they’re both paper companies, so I guess that would be like a ham sandwich and… another ham sandwich. Maybe a fattier kind of ham. Not that I’m saying Americans are fat. But they are, you know. Bloody porkers, the whole lot of them.” Not every employee of each company seems quite so upbeat about the merger, however. “I’ve gone from being a salesman at a company struggling to sell paper to people who don’t want it, to a salesman at an even larger company, struggling to sell even greater amounts of paper to even more people who don’t want it,” said Tim Canterbury of Wernham-Hogg, absentmindedly rubbing the wedding band on his finger. “Which, on their part, is an absolutely brilliant business move. Textbook, really.” “I don’t trust them,” said Dwight Schrute, Mr. Scott’s assistant, from his desk at the Scranton branch of Dunder-Mifflin. “The British, I mean. Can I go off the record? I want to go off the record here. I’ve been receiving faxes from … let’s just say, very highly placed sources, regarding certain … transactions made through Wernham-Hogg by certain internationally notorious figures.” Upon hearing this, Mr. Halpert, at the neighboring desk, suddenly became very absorbed in Dunder-Mifflin’s latest catalog, while receptionist Pam Beasley appeared to be attempting to stifle a laugh. “I don’t want to name names,” Mr. Schrute continued, “but … Saddam. Hussein. You heard me.” He nodded solemnly. “I’ll be keeping a very close eye on them, I can tell you that. Is that still off the record? Because you can put that on the record. That last part.” “I’ve always wanted to go to England,” Ms. Beasley said, smiling shyly. “But, you know, I never had the money. So I guess it’s nice that we’ll be getting a little bit of England here. It’s funny, you know. You get so wrapped up in your life, and you never stop to think that way across the ocean, there are people just like you, in an office just like yours. You know, the same sort of desks. Same kind of coworkers. Same relationships.” She seemed to briefly glance at Mr. Halpert. “Friendly relationships. Friendly working relationships. Friendships. I meant to say ‘friendships.’” Source |
Nobody like the article? I thought it was hillarious and really well written.
|
it is. I guess i forgot to reply. i thought it was funny but without knowing much of the brittish version, it's hard to laugh at all the jokes.
on another note: the offfice tonight . it's back! |
Only 5 hours to go until the new Office. Yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!
|
i just realized i have the hots for jan too. damnit, and a jan and karen sandwich would allllllllright.
but is pam about to get crazy and go pursue jim? put her big ole buzoongas up in his face? goddamn it - karen needs to get rewarded for being totally awesome. /will volunteer i enjoyed this episode quite a bit. |
well now we know that Pam and Roy are OVER. and I mean for good. but i'm not sure Jim wants to be with Karen much. she seems too annoying. "go sell some paper so we can go on a trip!" just when Jim was saying something very important to him. bleh..
And yes, Jan +Pam +karren sandwich :hyper: |
This was such a good episode. Michael was hilarious. Dwight was hilarious. Darryl was hilarious. Creed was hilarious. Toby was hilarious. Even Kelly and Ryan, who I don't find funny, were hilarious.
The story, or the lack of story, with the JAMMAGE was frustrating to me. I don't know why Jim was mad at Pam for Roy attacking him. It wasn't Roy's fault. Pam just showed balls by telling Roy. Jim wanted to keep it secret. Suck it up, Jim. Fancy New Beesly is speaking her mind. She's saying it as it is. Jim, time to step up. Bippity boppity. Make it hap'n cap'n. |
Last nights episode was great. I loved the ending when Dwight maced Andy. This is a great show.
|
After last night's episode, it seems like they're building up for another Pam/Jim moment during the season finale... only this time with Pam initiating it.
|
yeah, i think she's going to bring her a-game and fuck up my karen situation. damnit.
|
Great episode... Darryl was my favorite. I think this episode shows how much he (both the character and the actor) is being under-utilized. His timing and attitude were flawless!
And I think that's a good point about this season ending with another "Jam" moment. It's a shame that it takes a whole season to get this far, but the ride is a blast, so I can't complain. Toby was great, too. Can't wait till next week... |
Quote:
Michael: Come on. Toby: What? Where are we going? Michael: Where are we going? I'm going to smack you in the head with a hammer. Come on. Toby (glances at the partition): Okay. |
I don't really like Toby, but he had two of the better bits in the whole episode. The "Genius" line earlier on and the back and forth with Michael Ratbastid just mentioned. Very low-key, very funny.
I also thought the story device with Michael and Wikipedia was pretty damn funny as well. I had a boss just like that about 10 years ago... |
I like Darryl's character as well. It was funny when Michael kept talking to the camera about how he would get in a position of power in that situation, and Darryl was able to take the power from Michael every time. He should be utilized more. Michael wearing a womans suit was hilarious.
Andy is back now too, I'm looking forward to seeing what happens with that. |
Quote:
|
The whole womans suit bit had me laughing really hard, the rest of the episode was great too, but the womans suit bit was the best.
|
Last night's episode was probably my all-time favorite Office. I've been worried a few times this year and I've been annoyed by Michael being a little over the top, but this was awesome.
|
Interesting observation pmb145. I found it to be one of the slower episodes. If this episode was in S2 people would have said it was a disaster, but it seems to fit fairly well in S3. It had funny parts, I liked the betting stuff, and the Michael Dwight stuff on the roof, but it wasn't my favourite episode.
But, did anyone else notice the Jim and Pam interaction in this episode? And that they were standing next to each other in the parking lot? Oh, that parking lot...so much has been revealed there. My prediction is that the parking lot is where Pam will tell Jim she loves him, S3 finale... |
i enjoyed this episode quite a bit. my favorite so far are the 3 or 4 around the merging of the branches, but this one was pretty decent.
and karen didn't seem to are much for the comments about jim always being at pam's desk...i'm guessing/hoping she's going to back off and tell jim to knock it out, take his chance. jim and pam hook up. its great....but then the "crying game" takes over, and jim finds out pam is a man in drag. he is devastated. karen, meanwhile, decides she wants to try it out piggy style, and voila! el pigglet is introduced to the show in a cameo role. 3 eps into season 4, karen leaves the show to live with me on raymond burr's private island, and the rest of the show can do whatever in the fuck it wants to do. le fin. |
"Micheal is going to kill himself, pretending to kill himself"
This wasn't one of my favorite episodes. I did like the betting, especially the bet Ryan won when Kelly talked to him for ages about how Netflix works. |
this episode was allright. not the best this season.
|
I agree this episode was probably in the lower tier of this season... but I still laughed out loud a few times. We are so spoiled by the awesomeness of this show. :)
|
Decent episode, not great but not terrible. The Netflix bet was hilarious, changing the apple on Creed was funny as well. My favourite line though "Dwight you ignorant slut"
|
had it's moments, but no way you could follow up the awesomeness of "The Negotiation". That episode was one for the ages
|
argh! why did they skip a week!? onto the next one plZ!
|
If you're big on spoilers, like I can be at times, you can go to www.officetally.com and find synopses for the remaining three new episodes for the season.
If you don't want to be spoiled, you can still go there, because there's sweet info. |
Okay, time to wind up this thread again, because the third last episode of the season Women's Appreciation is up tomorrow night, and I do believe it's supersized. It starts at 7 Central, 8 Eastern.
Lot's of chatter in the Office forums about how this year is going to wrap up. Seeing as Product Recall and even Safety Training were SO HORRIBLY JAMLESS we are wondering aloud if JAM will indeed get together this season or if the writers will only tease us till next season. No doubt they'll give us something, but from what I hear of the spoilers, the focus will be more on Michael and Jan than Jim and Pam in the next three eps. |
I liked this episode a lot. Michael's trip to the mall with the ladies was memorable. I was laughing so hard when he said he didn't like it when Jan made him wear the skirt or when she pretended she didn't hear him using the safe word. Wrong, I know, but funny. And the part at the end with the wishing well, and what he wished for each of the ladies. Courage for Pam, a brain for Kelly (that had me laughing out loud too), and I think he said a heart for Angela. I think there will be a cliffhanger JAM moment in the finale like there was last year, but not too much more JAMMAGE this season unfortunately.
|
Quote:
Karen was pushing for Michael to work it out--every relationship has tough patches. Pam was pushing him to dump her--you shouldn't be with someone you're not happy with. They weren't talking about Jan. They were talking about Jim. |

I didn't expect mike to break up with jan. that was weird. |

I caught a little teaser about the next episode today as I was watching the Kentucky Derby... it looks like there will be plenty of JAM action to quench our thirsts. I can't wait. :)

no goddamn it. fuck pam. give me my karen. you people and your comic yearnings for this jam business. damn you all!!! drive karen off the show and i'll do something. i don't know what, but it won't be pretty.
drat and double drat! |
Didn't Ryan say something about asking Karen out in this last episode? That would be an even more interesting love triangle... Karen/Ryan/Kelly. Oh man, I really hope the storyline explores that for a while.

now that's true rascal, he did mention that. i could moderately handle that...would keep karen on the show longer, and that's really all that matters. i can see a reasonable argument on the relative attractiveness of pam and karen; i can't see kelly fitting in. not the same leve to me; her character is just too fucking annoying. i rather like the cast as it is; i hope they don't get rid of too many more people via downsizing or whatnot.
looking forward to seeing what happens with jan. i hope she comes back begging and that michael actually gets to have some hand...but he's such a fucker that i just can't see it yet. |
I hope Karen is back next season. I like the dynamic between her and Pam.
