This is a hurried and slightly lazy post this week. I don't have the time or the will to look through the dvd extras. I did manage to watch a few of the movies this weekend though.

Stay - It's Naomi Watts week! This one of two movies Naomi appeared in this week, the other being Get rich or Die tryin... Just kidding.(psst.. it was King Kong if you really didn't know.) I had no idea what to expect with this movie since I had forgotten everything I saw in the trailers. I really liked it because it managed to keep me in suspense until the end. The ending wasn't as good as the rest of the movie but it didn't ruin the it by any means. Maybe it's just that I'm so used to the endings being spoiled(see below) that I can't enjoy it when it's not spoiled..

King Kong started out really slow. To quote some random person on imdb.com "It's a 10 star two hour movie screaming to get out of a 7 star three hour movie." The only other thing I didn't like about the movie was that the trailers for the film had already shown every impressive detail about the film, even the ending. (yah who doesn't know the ending... they still shouldn't put it in the trailers.)

Get Rich or Die Tryin' is... about a.. Drug dealer who wants to be a rapper. Not to be mistaken for Hustle and Flow, about a Pimp who wants to be a rapper or 8 Mile about a rapper who wants to be a rapper... I think I'm burned out on the wanna be rapper movies. I liked 8 mile, and thought Hustle and flow was great.. I just don't think I can give a non-bias opinion about this movie when I very much dislike 50cent so I'm not even going to watch it. oh well..

Memoirs of a Geisha - I wanted to like this movie. I like Geisha.. I like Ziyi Zhang.. Why don't I like Memoirs or a Geisha? I dunno.. Maybe I was bored. It was slow, there was no nudity, kung fu or scary girls crawling out of tvs.. :P Everyone else seemed to like it so what do I know.

Memoirs of a Geisha moved pretty slow for me as well. Perhaps, because I had read the book I was even more disappointed. While the movie was just okay, I would highly recommend the book to anyone - it's so much more enjoyable!

I caught this on the family channel recently, and bad doesn't even begin to describe it... the original was bad enough what with the incredibly annoying Moira Kelly - the new version of it - is worse... Gotta wonder how many trees lost their life so that this dvd packaging could be made...
