Dr. Who

Dr. Who started on SciFi tonight.

I've never a fan - but in my post Battlestar Galatica funk i tuned in looking for a scifi fix.

The show itself is cheesy, but the story is mostly good.
there is a good bit of satire.

its good enough to keep watching
did anyone else watch? what do you thing?

It may not be as gritty or "edge of your seat" as Battlestar, but it only gets better as it goes along. They've already shown the entire 1st season here in Canada, and I was immensly pleased with it. I can't wait for the 2nd season to start in a month or so.

Definitely give it a chance!

I've seen the entire Eccleston series. I'm glad SciFi picked it up.

It's not to be taken too seriously. Just stick around until the Doctor runs into the Slitheen...alien fart jokes, yeah?

It's just the right mix between good sci-fi and absolute cheese, which is what Dr. Who is all about, in my opinion.

Stick with it. The Empty Child gave me nightmares for a time. Very creepy.

God bless sci fi. I remained patient and refrained from downloading the episodes from the BBC for SO LONG. Now I get to watch the whole series in it's glory while I wait for the return of Battlestar. Tonights episode was extremly entertaining, and it really took me back to a simpler time with the good doctor. I can't wait to see how this series chapes up.

I quite enjoyed it. This was the first incarnation of the Doctor I've seen, so I can't judge the past Doctors, but it seems this guy really gets into his part.
Plus, Rose is seriously sexy. She reminds me of Xenia Seeberg from LeXx.

I enjoyed the premier tonight immensely. I feel that it was the right balance of camp/drama. The scene where The Doctor and Rose are running through London together to get to the transmitter reminded me of The Doctor and Romana running through Paris together in the classic episode “City of Death” during the Tom Baker years.

I grew up watching the show on PBS. I was able to obtain copies via 'alternate' means last year and have seen the entire series. My work schedule prevents me from watching on Fridays, albeit, I'm thrilled the American public gets to see Doctor Who in a new and exciting revived series since 1989!

I finally watched the premier tonight...I have to agree that it was just campy enough. I think that this will definitely ease the pain of not having any Battlestar until October.
