i'm pretty excited myself. even though the movie missed some very important scenes (imo) im still going go out and fetch it tomorrow. you mentioned about her finishing the last book... i saw a rerun other day of documentary about jk and toward the end she held a file folder up and said this is book 7 completed. then orginal air date was several months ago. i wonder why just recently the press released she completed the last chapter? |
She always writes the last chapter first...the book is not finished--she said she would not start writing it until the beginning of 2006. However, she heavily outlined the series before she started writing any of the books.
From her site: Quote:
EDIT: And that's her diary entry from Feb. 28th, by the way. |
Hasnt she always said the last chapter was already written?
|
I pre ordered a copy of of GOB on Amazon since they said it was 30% off.
|
TODAY IS THE DAY!!!!!!!
snoopy dancing all around  |
Not out here for months.
Seems odd - she's a British author, it's a British Film, and in America it comes out first. |
Can you buy it on Amazon and have it shipped out to your location, that should work, right?
|
I love the extra features....the deleted scenes are great....pisses me off they left a whole snape scene out of the movie though (and a significant scene in my opinion)
|
Finally saw the movie last night, I bought the two disk version for my kids as a suprise, we sat down last night and watched it.
Wow, was pretty good. Pretty long though, the kids were having trouble staying awake at the end (we didnt start it untill 7:30) Havnt looked at disk 2 yet. |
Which are the additional scenes? I'm curious if there's anything from the Quidditch World Cup game itself, for instance. I was so dissapointed when there was no actual quidditch at al in the movie.
|
there were no deleted scenes that involved the QWC sorry :(
The longest ones were the magical band playing at the Yule ball, it was members of two bands, radiohead and somebody else who I cant remember off the top of my head and then the scene I already mentioned that was between Snape and Karkaroff discussing the dark mark |
here is a breakdown of the deleted scenes
SCENE 1: Dumbledore asks his pupils to receive Durmstrangs and Beauxbatons students as well as they can. All the Hogwarts students start to sing the school song. SCENE 2: A Durmstrangs student asks a girl if she wants to go with him to the Yule Ball. She says "yes" and two friends make gestures. SCENE 3: Harry tries to speak with Cho Chang, but her friends don't allow it. SCENE 4: In the Yule Ball, Flitwick introduces the Weird Sisters "Ladies and gentlemen...". The lead singer talks to the crowd and starts the song. SCENE 5: Karkaroff talks to Snape about the Dark Mark on his arm. Snape ignores him and his warnings, and instead points to Fawcett and Stebbins (two students), who appear. SCENE 6: Mr. Crouch speaks to Harry. However, Mad-Eye appears and Barty quickly leaves. SCENE 7: The trio talks about the Mr. Crouch's death. Ron thinks that the Prophet won't print the story, as influenced by Fudge. Hermione believes that occurence of Crouch's death and recent events are too much to be mere coincidences and recommends Harry to visit Dumbledore. SCENE 8: The trio discusses what Karkarov may have on is arm. Hermione asks Harry the ingredients Snape believes Harry stole from his supply -- she remembers that those were the ingredients for the polyjuice potion. |
I was disappointed how little Snape was in the GOF. He served little more than cartoonish violent comic relief.

Im living for the half blood prince movie.....he's got to be in that one a LOT lol
|
one scene that was told earlier would be in but did not make it was when olivander (spelling?) tested each champions wand. i kinda thought that would been a cool scene.
