Recognize her? ;)

Shanifaye asked me a while back if I'd do her portrait as a wedding gift for her husband-to-be, Dave and this is the result!! :D

Shannon: I'll mail it today so you should have it in a week or so

I always always always wanted to see myself drawn.....I always wondered if it would "look like me" I have to say that looking at your drawing is like looking in a mirror that magically makes me prettier lol.

He's gonna love this thank you so much for doing it. How big is it so I know what size frame to start looking for?

Shannon, you're beautiful on and off paper :icare:

And don't mention it my dear - I thoroughly enjoyed drawing you :)

It's an A4 size...are you gonna pick a metal or wooden frame?

ShaniFaye 09-28-2005 08:15 AM

a4....thats some kind of european measurment isnt it

I hadnt decided what the frame would be made of yet....I thought I'd just see what I found that I liked that was the right size

What the... You guys don't use the A sizes?! Haha well uhmm.. an A4 is 297 mm x 210 mm which is 11,6929 x 8,2677 inches. Luckily there's a bit of space around your face on the drawing so you are able to cut off a bit of the paper so it'll fit whatever standard picture frames you've got over there. For obvious reasons I have no idea if they've got frames available in an A4 size in America hehe but you can try writing the measures down and go ask your local frame maker :)

That is a beautiful portrait of a beautiful subject.

Nicely done...both of you.

BTW, any craft or framing store in the US will be able to help you with A4 sizing.

Nancy - you have captured that Shani essence I learned to appreciate so much more when I got to see her at Tecoyah's Rochester gettogether. That is a sweet drawing.
