Because I am an artiste I decided to post up a little sample of the work I do.

My pal, Jimi Hendrix. Done with ballpoint ink on some wicked pen paper I bought.

Wicked skill you have! I had no idea that ink and pen could look that good together

Say..the angle of his left eye/cheek look wrong. Or..perhaps the ink blending in with the pen makes it look like that

Thank you both I love using pen, it's so free and especially on this paper I use. It's so smooth and the ink just glides.

I see what you mean about the cheek. He had very sunken cheeks though, very skinny guy he was.. lol Oh and btw, it's all done in just pen, I'm not brave enough for the ink without the pen

Wow. What's the size of the original? I'd imagine that the size would have to be somewhat large to get such an effective shading with a pen.

Regardless, great pic.

Did you really use a ballpoint pen, or some type of fine point rollerball?

The reason I ask is the shading and detail are so impressive it is hard to belive that it was done with a simple ballpoint. I have used a ballpoint here and there, mainly when I didn't have anything else. I would not use one for anything I was really serious about, because I would not be able to get the kind of result I would get from a much better pen.

What kind of paper did you use?

I would be interested in getting some.

Very impressive work I would like to see some more.

Jimi is a hard guy to draw, he had very unusual features. You did an awesome job. Even in photos it looks like something's off with his face. Do you like a certain brand of ballpoint? Personally Zebra is my favorite for drawing with.
