just finished my first painting and thought id share

well i know its nothing amazing, it is my first painting and all...but i thought it came out pretty well. its a painting of a columbine flower that i saw when i was in colorado this past summer.

im using acrylic paints, and that is a 9x11" canvas. everything is pretty generic. just wanted to try my hand at it. im going to paint another one to decorate my sisters dorm room, so thats cool too

Good job, a great start. I like your colours.
If I may, here are a few suggestions for the future.
Try make the shapes more intentional, have clean, sharp lines. If you create a shape, it needs to be a confident shape. Your leaves tend to be a bit insecure.
The focal point tends to work better off centre, try put the focal point 2 thirds across and 2 thirds up. Work that is bold like yours needs a little hint of detail somewhere. Like music you need base notes, but the little details, tinkles, touches give work more depth. It's nice to discover things in an images from 2 meters to 2 feet.
