i'm hearin' ya' here Art..........gotta check out all the small stuff as well as the big stuff. love your work man. |
Thanks!
Yesterday the piano tuner was here and he commented on one of my big paintings executed in this manner. As a result, I'm thinking of the relationship between non-objective art and music again... |
ART, i've been looking at your threads.
i just haven't been able to form any words to make a decent comment... ...except... i keep thinking that while what you're doing is different than what i was doing, it's kind of similar somehow. right before i got my computer, i was still messing with pencil & some real nice markers. there was never no thought out plan. it just happened. i'll scan them one of these days. my stuff had some more objectivity to it though, not much. your pieces kinda make me miss those moments when i was all focused on not being focused on anything else but my pencils & pens. does that make sense? |
bernadette, yes, totally.
the process itself is all that needs to be directly attended to. that's how many musicians work, too. yep, would be great to see yours. thanks! |
I find myself articularly mesmerized by the second image. I could write an essay on what I see in it, but I'll save that for another time. What fascinates me the most is the insight my reaction gave me into the way my personality and life experience is reflected in the patterns my mind recognizes in what I see. I would imagine that this could be used as a sort of Rorschach test to delve into our feelings about life.

I like the fact that you can get some personal insight from my work. Leaving things this way allows it to be about a lot more than I could possibly put into it consciously or objectively...

I like it but I would have to see it up close. It is a bit hard on the eyes from the comp.
