It looks awesome. The only thing I can maybe suggest is to somehow show the divisions in some parts. For example, the division between the player's hat and hair, and also, the sleeve of his shirt and the background. Maybe it's the camera, or maybe you just wanted it that way. Just a little suggestion. Looks really great though.

the lack of division was intentional...and this was finished a while ago. thanks for the comments tho

i think that your hand drawn stuff is a lot stronger than your photoshop stuff.. but i've only seen a few of your computer rendered stuff.. keep it up tho.

Great stuff! Doing it with pencil gives it a black and white feel circa the 20s and 30s. Very nice job!

That is VERY good wpulley. The best pencil work I have seen in a very long time. I'd believe it was a photo if you told me.

This drawing has a lot of movement, while being somewhat minimalistic... I really like it!!

here is the secret to pencil drawing (to those who care)

-proportion grid-

the source material came from a small b/w photo, no larger than 5 inches high.

I made a high resolution copy and drew a grid across the entire image. I then took my sheet of heavy art paper and drew a proportionally larger grid *lightly*across the surface.

from there it was just a matter of drawing inside each small box basically turning a large drawing into several smaller drawings.

then the lightly traced grid is erased and the rest of the drawing is touched up with highlights and shadows.

easy as pie once you get the hang of it.

I am considering writing and designing a childrens book. I thought it would be fun.

anyway, I just like to pop on here now and then to throw up a comment or two... :)

that would be pretty awesome if you designed a children's book. my friend and i designed a children's book, of course it wasn't really for children tho.. we made a picture book about people who crap their pants.. it came out pretty funny.. but i really like the concept of picture books, etc.. it would be nice to make one for real. you definately have the skills for something interesting.

Like someone else said its really good pencil work. Id like to see more if you have it.
