Let's Doodle!
What ho friends and enemies alike!
I would like this thread to be a repository of doodles great and not great, big and small, color and grayscale. Not to take away from starting your own threads but when you have a little something-something that you made but you don't want to dedicate a thread to it...put it here! There is no time limit. Blow the dust off those scanners and release the art. I drew this one this morning... http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2509/...cb4c5db5_m.jpg As a challenge and to get this thread rolling I will try to match anyone who participates. Don't leave me hanging... |

I'll play. An excuse to get some drawings scanned  I drew these in the last 2 days.
|
Aw yeah!
I knew I could count on you Kramus. I love your lines and colors. I could use a good tree woman but then who couldn't? As promised, I must match your honorable post... http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3455/...00e9ce2a5e.jpg I would like to add that these drawings do not have to be recent. Post anything and everything from the time just before the oceans drank Atlantis to the day after tomorrow and BEYOND. |

Thankyou for your kind words GH. I shall savor them as if they were delicate, fragile servants gifted me and devoured with pleasure.
A few more then, from the archives. Note the first drawing is my sister Leah's name, and the second is "P" for profile, proboscis, whatever . . . |
I hope PSP is acceptable :o
http://img35.imageshack.us/img35/6394/doodlef.jpg http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/6141/doodle2bi.png |
Kramus, I want to gnaw the flesh off your second drawing.
Woods, my hearts sing to the thrum of your participation. I accept EVERYTHING! Here is a doodle for you. Please print it out and attach it to yourself. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2510/...81375402fc.jpg The location I will leave to your discreation. |
omg yay! A lamprey eel, amirite?
I'll put it on my collarbone part. |
I wish I had the skill to do some of this stuff.
|
I remember your picture of Sammy Sosa!
The doodles lurk within you. Let them wiggle to the surface and live in this thread. |
A recent doodle. I call it, "out of body something."
http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/h...File0021-4.jpg I think the cat just farted out a mouse. |
Ah Ring, I was waiting for you.
I would give that mouse-farting ghost cat a home if it needed one. Is it floating above a mountainscape during a Colorado noontide? In a different time-line we would have raised a squid together http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3436/...c0547848f6.jpg and taught her the ways of humans. |
|
Woods, you are filled with smoke and lightning.
|
And Pink Hearts, Orange Stars, Yellow Moons, Green Clovers, Blue Diamonds, and Purple Horse Shoes! And now with new Red Balloons.
|
I want to see your new red baboons.
|
They're camera shy. :o
|
It's best to keep them in a cool dark place.
I will drop this Monday morning doodle http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2542/...74a4e1bea9.jpg commando style. |
|
I want to dash my imagination on the points of those crystal shards...
but instead I will longboard with an old friend http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3446/...999833f5f6.jpg and then dash myself. |

Here are two from last week. These were both done during planning meetings at work, with a bic pen.
|
The tension in the first doodle is palpable.
I can feel your critter's purchases - the grasping onto their surfaces. Sweet. |
Frogza, those doodles have completely melted my face off.
I hope to see more in here even if that means you must endure more meetings. Here is the type of doodle I slip into my kids lunch box. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2512/...9a7a72f894.jpg |

I was moderating a phone interview this morning... I was listening with one ear and doodling with the other. I like to doodle with my ear.

this doodle was made in New York...it brings back happy memories :)

My doodle crawls across the ground before you three
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3470/...40cd17b6c1.jpg just to snuffle in the pleasure of your participation. Sorry for the smell. |

Another day, another meeting. You'll never guess how my head felt today.

|
Woodsystarbutterspacefly!
If we were to picnik there we might get a visit from... http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2562/...3ab55edf7e.jpg but he's cool as long as we share our food. |
|
I wish I had a scanner so I could switch to manual doodling.
I'm noticing I seem to not smoke while doing brainless activities like this. It's a good thing. http://img199.imageshack.us/img199/1179/doodle5.jpg |
Woods.. you could perhaps save those manual doodles and have a friend scan them,
or take them to walgreens or something. Please don't let not having a scanner, stop you from creating. The tactile pleasure of doodling on paper with different mediums is good meditative, relaxing, stimulating, focusing...fun. (far from brainless, but I think I know what you mean.) I don't smoke as much when I draw either, and that's a good good thing. Those water droplets look so very real...nice. |
I love mah PSP. But I haven't 'doodled' like this in years. I forgot how interesting it is to just get lost in cool-pretty-stuff land.
Maybe I'll price some machines. I know a basic scanner is way cheap nowadays - I dunno. We'll see. And ty :o |
*sends elephant clown over to the ladies table
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2636/...c8180d8af7.jpg to thank them for their participation |

I may have posted these back in the day. Work doodles, all about 3"x 4" or so. One or two may have made it through the mail to TFP members, come to think of it . . .
|
damn there's some really awesome stuff in here.. you guys should do my homework.
nice stippling on the hair in the last post Kramus. |
|
It looks like some of the tasty innards of that sandwich are dripping out.
Do I see a napkin in his second left leg? That would be handy. Doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/h...ile0021-24.jpg |
Kramus, the third one has a Michelangelo feel to it. Very nice

thanks for the comments gucci and frogza :)
I always did love doin' the doodlin' Mostly more of those 3" x 4" doodles from a few years ago. We had a stack of offcuts from legal sized paper cut down to letter sized to fit into a printer, and I kept a stack for notes and such. And for doodles when the 'puter was grinding on a file. |
Ahoj Space Wanderers!

It is almost time for...
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2602/...4f297156af.jpg |
hello all! i am so pleased to stumble back into TFP for an undetermined time frame.
i must track down sketch book, crappy phone camera, and post some poo. GH, your tiny parachuting elephant from 9/21 wants to come live in my tiny house. please send it over now. all of your works are great, but frogza and kramus give me something for which to aspire. my land is land of only two dimensions. i love how you two cram that elusive 3rd dimension on the page and tell it who's boss. |
Hail Doodlebird!
Your late arrival excites the joy molecules in my blue stream! http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2676/...ecda544da5.jpg I can't imagine what your participation will do. |
the tomato had it comin'

That stove is only too happy to kill his mortal foe, the giant tomato.
For you, friend Doodlebird... http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2450/...55504a5832.jpg |
|
It's getting lonely in here...
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2574/...91698cd5_m.jpg Somebody drop in and say hello to me. |
Your vacuum-navigating airborne horned tentacle creatures make me absolutely giddy.
|
Plan9, you have come to me in my hour of need.
I will not forget it. Now I am off to... http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2718/...fd8d7295_m.jpg |
|
I want to fall into that and descend forever.

Ring, I would like to take you to
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2661/...efb386b17a.jpg There is a small chance you will be dragged out to sea. |
Your beautiful intelligent daughters are fortunate to have you as their father.
|
Just finished up an ink drawing for a Secret Santa art trade. It's 4x6 inches on watercolor paper, using ink, acrylic, coffee and charcoal. I haven't worked on a drawing in a looong time, so I'm damn happy with the way it came out!
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2785/...ed634352c4.jpg |
Ahoy Evilbeefchan!
It is a pleasure to have you in this thread. That is a good looking image. Tell me more about using coffee. I can't stop drawing cephalopods http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2641/...fb052c3d8a.jpg but it's hard to tell what they are thinking. |
I like to add color washes to warm up the tones but I don't like some of the color calligraphy inks available, So I tried using cheaper options i.e. leftover coffee and tea. Since the pigment is fairly watered down, I can keep layering it on to get subtle lines and textures. Also there's some oxidation that occurs whenever using these materials (green tea & wine especially), so the tones feel more natural to me. A bit unpredictable and time consuming, but that's all part of the fun. =)
|
Ah, I haven't drawn anything decent in years.
I can't find any of my old scans from pencil and ink, but I do some work in MS paint haha. This is what I drew last: http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/members...ttery-died.png |
What ho Vigilante!
Is that a High Efficiency, Low Noise, Inductorless Step-Down DC/DC Converter? It needs a tentacle or three in there somewhere if you want to up the efficiency more than just two-times higher than a linear regulator. Just saying... |

Those beaver paws look rather menancing.
Do they vote? |

Go Beavercats!

Giant Hamburger... how do you feel about designing tattoos?
|
I feel nothing.
I can't imagine anyone wanting my art permanently affixed into their flesh. That being said, I encourage everyone to do it. EVERYONE! |
Dunno Hamburger -
...In a drunken stupor, I could see myself getting that gurgly-necked headless thing with the wagging tail on my ass. |
My cold blue heart has grown three sizes imagining the scenario you have described...

\m/!!!

Welcome aboard, Clavus.
After eating enough animals to start a farm this holiday season, I am ready for an herbivorous http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4047/...d8054677f3.jpg of savory barks and aromatic mosses. |

I doodle creepy naked women. |
Aw yeah! Your doodles belong here.
I especially love the first one. It reminds me of Jim Woodring's Manhog. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_B7voD6O9Ea...400/manhog.jpg She could be Lady Manhog |
Thank you. LOL Lady Manhog. Here are some more doodles of mine.

told me to tell you to post pics of your haircut or it didn't happen. |
Damn the Space Cat!
I'll do it today. Let me run some errands and get some things done and I'll try for this evening. I'll have to put on make up too or else I'll blind everyone being the pasty-faced cave dweller that I am or sumfing :o. |
Space cat will begin clearing space on his private moon
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2648/...855228d1e4.jpg for a proper shrine to the mysteries of your new haircut. |
I'm afraid it won't be too terribly exciting but I do have some shweet catnip...
|
Space cat has NO TIME for haircuts!
|
zomg how did he know about the bow????
:) |
|
That is excellent!
How big is the original? Are those water colors or something else? I want to know that creature. |
Thank you.
I filled an 18" x 12" piece of paper with doodles. A combo of acrylic/watercolor/colored pencils/and tempera paint. The creature is about 5" tall. Here's two larger views: http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/h...File0017-3.jpg http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/h...y/File0019.jpg |
Thanks for posting the full view, ring. Gorgeous.
And GH - do your young female spawn ever report on the effect your graphic insemination of their mid-day meals has in the classroom? I would think that the innoculative effect of being your progeny would protect them, but leave their weaker classmates prone to spontaneous self-ingestion and other powerful/bizarre reactions to the lunch doodles you supply. Lady Bearcub - that suspended figure doodle is beautiful  |
Over these last 5 years I have developed a reputation at the elementary school.
I am known for my clown shoes, my lunch drawings and my collection of inexplicable organs Thank you for asking. Every once in a while I ask the kids if they want me to stop the lunch drawings but they insist that I continue. Perhaps they fear to say no. |
I'm thinking you're one cool Dad, Hamburger.
You have some lucky kids for sure. :) |
You are sweet to say that
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4056/...b8cc7af256.jpg so I offer to you... a chipmunk. How's that haircut? |
