CD cover

An old friend of mine from gymnasiet (sort of the same thing as your "highschool") suddenly called me up a couple of months ago asking me if I'd like to help him creating the cover for his band's new EP.

The CD cover design is based on a concept that John had come up with and the CD booklet is my design:

Very nice! I like the cleanness of it.

I like it... I like it a lot. Did you do the watercolor yourself?

Darth_Kettch 02-19-2007 02:41 PM

Hey you!

It's actually two different paintings and no, I didn't make them. I accidentally stumbled over them on the Internet and we both thought they fitted perfectly so I used them in the booklet instead of reusing the cover picture.

Hey me!

You are must more honest than I, dear Nancy. Whenever a person is asked the question "did you build that", or "did you draw that", the answer should always be "Yes... yes I did." :)

sweet Nancy.........as always......great freakin' work.

*wonders if he should approach Nancy for a cover as well*

As tempting as it may be at times, I never lie about such a thing since it'll most definitely come back to bite me in the ass later when I'm asked to make use of my so-called "skills" in my line of work!

I like them both but I see the cover and the booklet as two seperate concepts; is there an underlying connection that I'm not seeing?

serlindsipity 03-23-2007 11:23 AM

love them all, but watch out for copyrights if you are using and altering other people's work. Or are these just ideas and youre going to redo them in your own wter color and/or photography?

None what so ever

I was hoping for such an underlying connection when we started working on this project but John was quite determined about the front cover. And since he was the client he had the final say in the matter.

Nope, this is what the EP looks like today.

I'm always aware of copyrights so I double checked before I used the photos :)

Super cool as always, Nancy! I too dug the stickmen on the front cover. :)

As a matter of interest, what genre is the music? I find the correlation (if any) between album art and music genre incredibly interseting.

It's classic rock/alternative - according to the band.

http://www.lowdowndeeper.mymusic.dk/ <- have a listen and judge for yourself.

The songs from the EP will be uploaded as well in the near future :)
