allosaurous airbrushed atop attire

For my Barbarian Child. I made a couple of mistakes, but I did some things well too. I used a shield more than I had in the past.

Always learning...

I like that.

Just one question...

How did you get a picture of my ex-wife?

Glad to see your kid still thinks the shirts you make are cool! Great job overall!

Very nice work!
You should post a tutorial on airbrushing clothing, I would very much like to learn how to do it.

Snoogans! Always good to hear you bellowing from deep beneath your bunker.

Seriously, I'm the last guy who should be posting a tutorial. I'm figuring this out as I go along.

What I've learned so far: Plan ahead. Draw it first and think about how you want to paint each piece of the picture before you start it. Cut your picture up with a razor leaving only little bits between the pieces to keep it together. Spray glue on the back and stick it to the shirt. Peel off one piece, paint a color, stick it back on. Repeat until done. Switch to the next color. Start over again. (Mr. Allosaurous has three colors - green brown and black. So I painted each part of the dinosaur three times. My dragon had a buttload of colors - six, I think. Don't do that.)

Paint light colors first, dark colors last. Don't stop once you start. Eat a lot of pretzels while you paint. Drink a beer. Paint a faint outline of black around the whole exterior of the design when you have done everything else.

See, I told you I am the last guy who should post a tutorial.

Let's see...

Airbrush (I use a Badger brand with a double action trigger - it controls air pressure and paint flow). There are probably better or worse ones out there. This is the only one I ever owned, and I didn't pick it out.

Paint

Paper (from my sketch book)

Pencil (to draw the design on the paper)

Xacto Knife to cut the design out of the paper (and turn it into what's called a "mask.")

Spray glue (to spray the back of the mask so it sticks to the shirt)

Tweezers (to grab the small pieces of the mask - like the teeth and eye)

Shield (WTF?!!) - Helpful for making wierd curves and shading. You don't have to buy one. You can make your own out of paper.
