Pencil on cartrridge paper.

P.S. sorry about posting this in the wrong category. Sunday afternoons can get slightly hazey.

charliex 04-20-2003 01:13 PM

really good work, you really capture the eyes, how long does it take you to do them? im a big fan of pencil and airbrush, and this combines aspects of both.

Cuball 04-20-2003 02:54 PM

damn I wish I could draw thing like that !

nice stuff, keep em coming

Ambition 04-20-2003 07:11 PM

Obscura, that is far from crap. That's really awesome work. I wish I could make something like that.

very cool..i like the eyes

Realizm 05-03-2003 08:52 AM

That doesn't look like crap at all..

-Ever- 05-03-2003 12:11 PM

tell me something; how do you get your hand-drawn pencil work to look as if the entire thing was done in photoshop (IE the lines are all *perfectly* straight and curved) No smearing, no flaws. Does the fact that you're using cartridge paper have anything to do with it? (dont know what it is....)
Nice drawing man

I'd kinda like to have a more scratchy feel to my work. I've always drawn in pencil/gouache/watercolour, so i'm used to it. And I draw backwards (weird arm action so that my wrist is on top of the drawing). I don't like that my work looks airbrushed or Photoshoped, it's just a style that is natural. I work the pencil in small circular motions, so you can't see any lines. Like I say, an aquired style.

Cheers for the kind comments. :)

uber1 05-03-2003 10:28 PM

majik_6 05-28-2003 06:28 PM

Absolutely amazing!

Hopefully after three more years of art school, my work will begin to look a little more like that!

Frowning Budah 05-28-2003 07:22 PM

Very nice. What is the style? I have seen other works in this same style but can't remember the artist.

Conclamo Ludus 05-28-2003 07:23 PM

Looks right out of a dream. Very nice.

Obscura 05-29-2003 12:39 AM

3 more years of art school? *Shudder.

I was kinda hoping this was my style. My influences come from many sources. Be it crusty old artists or contemporary designers/illustrators working today.

Cheers once again.

majik_6 05-29-2003 06:11 AM

Eh, 3 years of art school isn't so bad after 2 quarters of Honors English Literature, Medieval and Renaissance. Quite nice, actually.

Once again, bravo on some truly amazing artwork.

146519 05-31-2003 12:01 PM

THE MAC GOD 06-01-2003 01:52 AM

Obscura 06-01-2003 03:08 AM

I am also intensely curious as to how long a drawing like this takes to do- start to finish??

Obscura 06-01-2003 11:36 PM

From start to finish it probably takes about 5/6 hours.

Cyd 06-04-2003 11:30 AM

Its kewl, almost surreal, i love your work. ALways so clean and in such an interesting style.

Podmore 06-04-2003 01:26 PM

You could seriously persue work as an illustrator. The money can be decent. I think your style would be appreciated by a variety of authors, for a variety of subjects.

silverback 06-04-2003 10:08 PM

cool picture

Obscura 06-04-2003 11:26 PM

Hmmmm, I am an illustrator...for my sins.

Thanks
