Urinals for Women?

While looking at this thread:
http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/showthr...=1#post1959831

Mr. Self Destruct mentions women's urinals.

It got me thinking. How many women would know how to/have desire to use a urinal if it was an option in a women's restroom.

Just think of how much potential there is for reducing the line to the ladies' room!

maleficent 12-13-2005 04:20 PM

and if there were urinals :

My college dorm, at one point it it's life, was an all male dorm... so there were urinals in the dorm... They made lovely plant holders... I couldn't imagine using one for real...

Elphaba 12-13-2005 04:37 PM

I need a picture of a urinal for women, before I can imagine how one might be used. Mal, loved the links.... no wonder Freud assumed women had penis envy. We need directional flow devices and all is well. :D

Wow Mal! Thanks for the link. This thing is awesome!

Linky to a female urinal:

You just stand over it and go for it.

SexyCat 12-13-2005 06:42 PM

I prefer to pee behind a closed door, thanks. At least in public that is, I don't know how guys do it.

One word: P-Mate

I love mine.
Rock. On.

little_tippler 12-14-2005 03:54 AM

No, no ,and triple no. Why would I want to, ever. I think men's urinals are gross, and to have that for women, well there go all our nice clean-smelling public women's WC's! Yuck is all I have to say.

As for the trough in stadium restrooms, it's pretty much feels like the environment in a locker-room, albeit with a fouler smell, and it's easy to sacrifice privacy because all you want to do is piss and get back to watching the game (or get as many people through the room as possible during an intermission.)

Sounds like a great idea but how much bathroom traffic would that reduce? I mean I would hope that even with a urinal we would opt to wipe and clean ourselves, hence the only difference would be an actual door that needs to be opened and closed..How much diffrence in time would that make?

I'd prefer some privacy, I guess I've been cultured long enough to be very protective of certain body parts, and heck, I don't know how I'd feel exposing that much in 'public'

Pretty much how I feel. Sure it might be nice from time to time to have the option to pee standing up, but really, I have no issue with sitting down in a stall either. I prefer the privacy myself as well.

JustJess 12-14-2005 12:33 PM

I will definitely check these products out - not because I want to pee in front of people, but because of the hoverers, I can never sit in a public restroom anyway. I cannot stand how gross women are - they pee all over the seats in an attempt to hover rather than sit, and it's disgusting. So, with Fredweena's p-mate, that would eliminate the need to sit at all! That would be great. So, I do it in a stall, fine, but it's still cleaner and possibly faster (if you can do it without entirely disrobing). Of course you'd still pat the ol' girl dry, but I would imagine a lot less to be patted!

Sounds great!

snowy 12-14-2005 01:39 PM

Yeeeeeah, no. I like to sit down to pee, thanks, and I'm gonna keep on doing it.

Grasshopper Green 12-14-2005 03:10 PM

As far as public restrooms, I'd like to keep my private parts private. However, the P-Mate looks incredibly handy for camping....I inevitably get scratched by a bush or something.

la petite moi 12-14-2005 03:41 PM

That's so weird. My mom has this device that she uses to go pee- it looks like a plastic penis. It is basically a funnel that catches the pee and funnels it out into the toilet or onto the tree, in her case since she likes to go hiking. nwlinkvxd had a great comeback when she tried to shock him with it: "You know, they have surgeries for that."

PS: It's too bad that the poll has such poor wording. There is too much bias- I don't think it's foul, but I wouldn't do it.

Eweser 12-14-2005 03:53 PM

I'm a very private person. I only leave the door open at my home when my husband isn't there....so, no I wouldn't use it....and I don't know how comfortable I would be seeing other women use it in a public restroom. But hey, to each her own.

You missed the attempt at humor. And it's not bias - I made the poll and I'm personally a fan of urinals.

hahaha yeah I don't know if I'd ever like to know the feel of peeing standing up...

fyrehair 12-16-2005 08:41 PM

I think it would make things go quicker in public restrooms...you hardly ever see a long line for the guys room, do ya?? I'd be all for it, especially if the p-mates were available in the restroom! I learned how to pee standing up when I was in Girl Scouts and we went camping. It was a bit messy, but better than squatting in the wrong area.

LalaLyn 12-17-2005 12:25 AM

I think it would be kinda hard...especially since we aren't exactly built that way. Plus what would happen during that "time of the month" where we have to do more things than just go number 1? I prefer the sit down method. I think gravity is against us in that sense :)

jenjen 12-24-2005 12:26 AM

If it was a urinal in that you stand up, but had the same privacy as a regular stall I might be willing to use it. Otherwise, I'm with the rest of you...peeing is a private activity.

Atropos4 12-31-2005 07:54 PM

Peemate sounds interesting. Not sure I'd want to pee in front of everyone though.

fyrehair, Did they teach you how? I'm just curious.

Bah, I didn't miss the attempt at humour. And yes, it is still wording bias. Then again, I'm sure you aren't using this to base any thesis off of. Heh. My point was only that I felt weird answering that I thought peeing standing is a foul idea.

Sweetpea 01-03-2006 12:27 AM

eh, sure... when you've got to go, you've got to go. But purely out of habit, i would choose the closed door vrs. the urinal... but yeah, doesn't really matter.

gremlinx8 01-03-2006 09:20 AM

I tried to pee standing up when I was younger, but it didn't really work. I'm pretty content with just sitting down.

TotalMILF 01-03-2006 11:05 PM

When I was in Basic Training there was 1 bathroom for 44 girls. There were 2 toilets that worked consistently, so we all learned to use the urinals that were in there (it used to be all-male barracks). You just can't do #2 or flush TP, else risk a nasty mess. I wouldn't use one if I had the option of using a regular toilet.

typette 01-04-2006 06:59 PM

I answered the poll that I wouldn't have a clue how, but after reading your postings I do now! I don't think I would use a urinal if the option of a toilet were present, but I couldn't even count the mosquito bites on my bottom after a canoe trip last summer so I may invest in a Travel Mate before the next trip! Thanks, Mal!

Lead543 01-05-2006 10:52 AM

Then there would have to be a garbage can or something for all of the tp women used. Which would smell. I think despite all these devices and stuff eventually you'd have an acident and end up peeing all over your pant leg. It's only faster for men because their penises or in the front, a simple unzip, pee, shake, zip up and they're done. Women have to almost remove their pants which I would rather do in a mall restroom.

Although I think peeing standing up would probably be an advantage when camping, hiking or during long car trips.

Sharon 03-25-2006 02:00 PM

I too have the whole privacy thing going on... I don't even like gyms with communal showers, I wear a swimsuit when I have to use those.

TivaBella 03-25-2006 04:21 PM

I was travelling in Turkey a few years back and they have this interesting invention called the Turkish Toilet. Basically it is a hole in the ground with a place on either side for your feet. It's quite easy to use once you get the hang of it and the more modern versions do flush. I don't know how clean they are, but I would assume that a modern, North American version would perhaps be a bit more sanitary.

I guess what I am saying is that I wouldn't object to peeing standing up as I have mastered the technique, but I would definitely need privacy when doing it. A stall with a door is a must for this girl.

Babes 03-27-2006 03:52 PM

Yeah I definately like privacy. I even catch myself wondering if someone will accidentally look through the cracks in the stall. I know it's ridiculous.
