I understand what you are saying,...

I see it all the time, so many people that have children that shouldn't have. It's sad because you have people that truly want them and can't have them and have to pay big bucks to either adopt or get pregnant. Some people are baby machines that don't stop and the children pay, wearing raggy clothes, not getting proper nutrition etc. Too many people don't think of how expensive it is to have children and that it is a full time commitment.

I have one child who is 4 years old. In the past year I've gotten the question "When's the next one coming?" from at least 8 different people that I can recall. It's irksome to get that question in the first place but when I reply "We're content with just one." and I get a look like I've lost my mind, that's downright infuriating sometimes. I realize that some people after having one kid, have such a blast having a child, that they want more children. I personally had a difficult delivery (21hours) that ended in a c-section. That combined with marital problems that cropped up around that time (not related to the child but children will magnify any previous problems) I am pretty adverse to the idea of giving birth and caring for another newborn.

I adore my daughter. Nothing can change that. That doesn't mean that I'm going to go out to the baby factory and get me another one just because I liked the first one. Every one is different and every experience is different. I'm fulfilled and content with ONE.

I can understand not wanting to have any. I can totally see how irksome the pressure would be from others to have one or more.

I hear ya girl. Right after I had my tubal ligation some people had asked where I was for a few days so I told them,...the comments were ridiculous. I told them that not all women want children and we were not put on this earth just to have them. There is nothing wrong w/ having just one child or no children but, unfortunately we have peolpe that think 'old school' that cannot understand that. It's a shame.
