Just need the ladies' advice on this weekend...
K... I put my two weeks notice in at IHOP which I work the shift on Friday and Saturday nights from 11pm - 7am.... I am also working at my new job on Friday/Sat and Sun at various hours.
Now, This weekend and next weekend are my last at IHOP. Last weekend i worked both jobs and was exhausted. Plus I only made about $50 the whole weekend at IHOP... so it really wasn't worth being there because it wasn't busy.. but you can never tell when or if it's going to be busy. I don't really want to do this to myself again this weekend, though I really could use the extra $50 because I am behind on some other major bills. But at the same time I really hate working at IHOP.. the only reason I put in my notice was so that I could have something to fall back on if I needed. Though even if I needed I know I wouldn't go back there if someone paid me. SO all in all, I really need the money because I have a bill due this weekend that must get paid but at the same time I really want to be at home this weekend to enjoy some extra time with my b/f because we really haven't been able to do so on the weekends since we moved to VA. As well, not going to IHOP might save my sanity. Just wanted some advice because come 11pm tonight I need to have my mind made up... but I'm just being so fickle. I've actually gotta wonder off to my new job, which I do enjoy and is 1/2 mile from home until 8pm. If I did decide to go to IHOP this is how my weekend schedule would look, today, 11am-8pm at the new job... 11pm-5am at IHOP, 6am-3pm at the new job, (Saturday night) 11pm-7am at IHOP, and then Sunday morning/afternoon 10:30am-7pm at the new job. I did it last weekend and was okay... but again I would rather have been at home spending some quality time with my b/f and doing some other productive things as well (aka homework). K... just want some advice. So lay it on me and be honest :) Thanks! |
Go to work. Earn the money. A good reference is better than a weekend off.

Sacrifice one weekend for your future. You'll have lots of other weekends in your life.

Maybe I am lazy but I say.......fuck IHOP.

Paying off a bill or spending time with your boyfriend that you will have time to do anyways once you leave IHOP?
I say work the rest of your time there, get the money you need to pay off your bill instead of putting yourself into financial debt farther. Your boyfriend will understand and your credit history will remain in good standing. |
+1 for working.
Making 'responsible' choices is tough, but a good thing to do. |

Well... I decided...
Well, I decided since Phred is going to Orlando on Monday and I won't be in town when he gets back... plus I HATE IHOP.. just felt it best to do as Nikki said.. and give IHOP the big F-U.
I just figure that it's not worth the $30 I'd make there to be exhausted and I haven't had much time at all to spend with phred since we moved to VA in Jan because of work and school as well as his being out of town quite a bit for work. Besides, spring break is the week after next and I don't want to be working @ IHOP during the break. Thanks for the advice, I do appreciate it. And normally I would have gone ahead and gone to work.. but my bills can wait another 2 weeks, though I don't think my brain would let me make it through another weekend like last. I appreciate it :) *mmuuuaaahhhh* (big squishy one at that) |
