STD tests
ok, never had one, only had one partner, not sure if i even need one, but i figure if im not sure if i need one then i definately need one.
I dont know much about the whole procedure though, actually dont know anything about the process, what does it involve from a female standpoint? what all do they do? thanks |
It all depends on what you're being tested for. I only had one partner, too, but I was paranoid and figured I'd rest easier knowing the truth, whatever it was, so I got tested for EVERYTHING. (And they all came back negative - whew!)
For some tests they need blood; for others they basically need a pelvic exam and a culture. They'll need to ask a lot of questions about your sexual history, of course. For AIDS tests, I believe you have to be 6 months out from your last sexual encounter for it to be certain. If you're worried about it showing up on your insurance records, go to Planned Parenthood or a community clinic and pay for it yourself. I think you're doing a good thing, getting tested, for your own peace of mind. |
i wish i would have done it last week, i had my anual "icky doctor" exam, should have gotten it over with...

annie1, it is never too late. My ex had a girlfriend before we were divorced and I knew of at least one affair, so, as embarrassing as it was, I got tested for it all. I rest easier as they all came back negative. It is worth the peace of mind.
