fashion statement?

Something that has been bothering me for quite some time (at least for two political administrations now) is the dopey pants suits that the first ladies of this country are wearing for everything.
Is that fashion? They are the most unflattering and non-fashionable pieces of cloth ever sewn together to create stuff to wear.
They don't even look professional.
Someone save the first ladies of this country from looking like they are wearing leisure suits from the seventies.
Does anyone else feel this way??
Just checking.

Well, now that you mention it what is up with that??

The first lady needs to be sophisticated and sexy at the same time. She needs to make sure that she STAYS the first lady.

Surely there is something that they can wear that would give the impression that they are professionals and women at the same time.

Laura and Hillary had no cleavage to show, Barbara's had long since already "headed south for the winter", Nancy's was fake, and I don't remember about further back.

It's a matter of taste, which either they or their dresser seems to sorely lack. I hope it's the dresser, I'd like to see what they force the First Gentleman has to wear at his wife's inauguration.

Why do they wear stuff like that? I've seen a lot of proffesional women who looked really good.... of course they were all much younger.... but none of our first ladys are that bad looking excepting the clothes.

If the jackets were a little more tailored they would be much more flattering. And what is with the Easter basket colors?

I think Jackie O was the last first lady with style. Of course that was before pants suits but I agree, the style is sorely lacking in just that--style.
These ladies are not ugly or overweight. Certainly, just about anything would look better than those dumpy suits.

More to the point, when was the last time we had a first lady whose body we'd WANT to see?!

imho....

But seriously, when's the last time we had a FL with a) clevage b) serious curves or c) both....

I wouldn't WANT to see Laura's clevage....I like my eyes just where they are....
