So, who doesn't shave their armpits or legs? Anybody? I don't.

Why do you do it? Do you think it's gross to have hair anywhere besides your head or are you worried what other people will think? I don't do it because 1) I'm lazy and 2) I'm making a social statement: "if guys don't have to why do I?"

I don't shave my legs cause you can hardly see the little blonde fuzz that grows.
I shave my pits cause they stink less when shaved.

I shave. I can't stand having hair in my armpits. Stubble on my legs drives me nuts, too. Smooth legs feel so much better than hairy ones, in my opinion.

It is kind of a double standard though, that women are supposed to shave and men aren't. But hey, doesn't bother me much.

I am also an avid shaver... it's just something that you get used to and becomes habit.

I shave as well. I like the way shaved legs feel.

I've never shaved in my life, mainly because I don't have much hair to shave in the first place. The only hair removal routine I take part of is the tweezing of some nicely manicured eyebrows. I guess I'm one of the fortunate ones.

Well I shave, but the bad part for me is that I have to shave everyday. I really should just wax but I CANNOT stand to have that prickly feeling on my legs. I love when my legs are nice and smooth. One thing I really like is when my husband and i are on the couch and I put my legs in his lap and he rubs my legs. I don't think he would want to rub them if they were hairy or prickly:)

i don't shave my legs. why should i? i'm not hairy.. i don't need to. and i don't need society telling me i should.

I just like how I'm all smooth. For myself, besides the hair on my head, the less, the better.

I guess I'm a conformist too, cuz I like to be clean shaven. Pits, legs, and nicely trimmed pussy (I do like to keep a landing strip there). I just feel cleaner after a shave. I guess I'm just used to it, too.

I shave. My mom told me that is the thing to do (legs) and my pits smell less when shaved. Bf likes a shaved and trimmed pussy and once I started with my eyebrows...

Wish i'd never bothered to start doing it but you cant go back once you have. I shave armpits and trim and tidy pussy...but not too much. Legs not that often but not really that hairy by there.

I shave my legs, underarms (when I'm not too lazy), and pubic region. I really like the feeling of being hairless, and also how my so responds.

I hate it that the entire process is expected, tho, I don't understand why anyone would get grossed out at the idea of not shaving, or seeing a girl unshaven. I personally like the feeling, but get annoyed when others (usually guys) criticize girls for not shaving.

You know, I had started out shaving. When I was an adolescent I couldn't wait to start shaving so I could be older, but then two years ago I was like "fuck it." That's also when I stopped wearing a bra. For a while I only allowed myself to wax, but then I just grew out of it completely and stopped all together. The only comment I've gotten about my pits so far was from a girl who said, "What are you trying to be all earth woman or something?" But Spinach_Indeed doesn't mind. Actually I think he kind of likes it.

For all you shavers out there who want to stop, my advice is to start only waxing. It's so painful (especially under the pits) that you'll stop fast!!

I shave everyday (legs, armpits, pussy). I've never had to bother with the eyebrows which I'm very grateful for. That just seems incredibly painful. Once, when I was in like fifth grade, I shaved my arms too. The hair never did really all grow back.

I really don't understand the preference for shaving. I'd much rather pluck or wax myself. Maybe I'm just a masochist.

I'm a shaver - completely. I'm sure it's cultural, but I can't stand having hair under my arms, or on my legs. The rest is hubby induced. I confess - I get lazy in the winter, and shave once a week, but we just joined a gym, and I wear shorts and tanks to work out in, so looks like I can't get lazy this winter. :-(

Earlier this summer I stopped shaving my pits, partly out of laziness and partly out of a desire to do something different with my body. After a while I began to like the way it looked, but I did tend to sweat and stink more (I already sweat quite a bit anyway).
When I moved to the UK I shaved my pits again... I don't like the upkeep and I don't like the way it looks, but it does make me smell a little better.
I do not shave my pubic region, mainly because of the horrendous red bumps that ensue if I try. I've never had a bikini wax, so I don't know if that would help with the red bumps. Anyone who knows: Is waxing the pubic region an improvement to shaving?
As for legs, every time I think I'm gonna quit shaving my legs the stubble eventually gets to me and I shave 'em again. I think it has to do with the fact that I'm constanting touching my legs, whereas I generally don't stick my hands in my armpits or crotch so if I get stubble there it doesn't annoy me so much.

The stubble stops bothering you after it grows so much that it ceases to be stubble.

I was teased in elementary school cause I didnt shave my legs till society basically told me it was a faux pas. Being a young tomboy (didnt live with a mom) i didnt realize I had to shave. I only rarely shave if I wear shorts/dresses-which I rarely do. Now I just like smooth legs-like baby butt soft. I shave my pits regularly cause its stanky if left unshaved and I work where I constantly lift my arms so it wouldnt be good to customers with a bush in their face. I did try shaving my pussy for the first time-my bf really did-and it itches like a bitch and grows back fast and sore. Im letting it grow back and leaving it like that. At least I tried it once.

it's easier/quicker/less painful to shave than pluck or wax... otherwise i'd pluck or wax.

I guess a few pinches are better than intense itching. Also, I should not be allowed near sharp objects. The last time I went near a razor, I ended up in bandages.

i honestly don't think my harmpits are all scary hairy like you see some feminist-type ladies doing. i won't shave them for 2 weeks and they're still all scruffly stubble :P

My pits are hairy enough for people to be able to notice, but they're not as hairy as most guys'.

Xirax judges my hairiness against his, and being as a i am pretty much a blond it works out pretty well for me. i like to shave, cause i like it soft, but i'm a very lazy person, so i tend to let it grow because, as little limey said, when you let your hair grow long enough, it's softer than stubble. i pluck my eyebrows because i love it, i'm totally obsessed at picking at things. and i've started plucking my pubes on and off. surprisingly doesn't hurt me. i don't know. my pits i keep up with shaving simply because i'm a smelly girl and shaving seems to be cheapest, and i'm also a poor girl. but as much as i like shaved legs, i shave my legs maybe like once every two months on average...?

I have not read the entire thread yet, but I'm going to go ahead and say that I do NOT shave my legs, my pits, my pussy......and here's the intense bit. Im 100% womon, I was born xx chromosone womon, I love being a womon, but I am hirstute (look it up) and I only shave part of that, enough that I look groomed, and not like a crazy homeless womon.

I shave everything from the neck down; arms (the hair that grows on my arms can end up to be like 2-3 inches long, eww), under arms, pussy, legs. I shave it all. It drives me nuts to have body hair. Just makes me feel more lady like. ya know

I shave legs, pits, pussy but I think it's more out of habit than anything else. Going bare down below is a relatively new thing but I really like it (except for the upkeep....every freakin day.....ugh). I want to go get a brazilian wax for down below though so I don't have to shave there as often.

I used to use one of those really painful depilating machines, but now that it's winter and my boyfriend is away for 6 months I'm experimenting with not shaving. I just wanna see how it feel/looks and who knows maybe I'll end up being one of those girls that go natural.

my sisters hate me because i don't have to shave my legs... ever. i do... on occasion because i like how shiny they get after you've shaved and then put lotion on. but honestly i would never have to shave my legs and you'd never know i hadn't.

i don't liked shaved genitals on either sex... i don't like the stubble... and frankly shaved women makes too much of a "little girl" connection in my head for me to be comfortable with. luckily Willow feels the same and actually begged me not to shave it once when i offered.

The whole shaving thing for women is fascinating to me as in the beginning of the 20th century it was NOT common for american women to shave themselves.

I took a Women's Studies course a number of years ago. Apparently the "shaving craze" really began in World War II when silk stockings became impossible to obtain, and shaving and "leg markup" were substituted.

I don't shave anything, haven't for two years. I find stubble annoying, and my fuzzy legs are soft! I love my fuzzy legs! As for the stink that comes with armpit hair, in my experience it's not as bad when I am eating healthier foods, and then I honestly don't even need deodorant. I have gotten pretty detoxed and eaten raw foods only, and included with feeling a million times better, I didn't stink( even my crap smelled not as bad). As for my pussy, I find I feel ah, more accessible :) if I keep it trimmed.

During shorts weather I shave my legs, but during winter Im not as diligent and fortunately my b/f doesnt have a preference. Armpits are a must cause I too get smelly, pussy is a must because I much prefer the way his tongue feels on a shaven area as to when I've gotten lazy and let it grow out AND there is nothing worse than him having to stop to get the hair out of his mouth :lol: PLUS there is also less odor "down there" with less hair.

I'm au naturel then.. I don't like shaving, because it's too much work... but then again, I don't even do makeup.

I tend to get VERY annoyed at guys who thinks ggirls have to shave and they don't. "Girls wear skirts/tops" was a comment.. like guys don't wear shorts or tanktops?

until about a month ago so were my legs. but i've been having to pull myself together quickly in the mornings lately, so since it's winterish now, i've been skipping the legs. this is the longest i've ever gone without shaving my legs. i'm kinda laughing while watching the hairs grow & begin to get soft & curl.

I'm a shaver. Although I don't have a lot of body hair naturally, I still MUST shave. I like the feel of the smooth skin and I just feel cleaner when I am smooth and silky.

I vary how a I shave my vaginal area. Anywhere from bald to a heart shape to a landing strip. More often than not it is a landing strip that ends right above the clit. Something about that look is seductive to me and my sweetie preferes that too.

I shave twice a week. I also use that shave minimizing lotion and it seems to help. I prefer to be smooth. I might not shave if I could get past the prickly stage, but it bothers me. I never used to wear shorts or skirts, but I started to fairly recently. I'd rather shave than wear pantyhose

ManThingy really doesn't care if I shave or not, so I shave when I feel that I must.

Granted, I tend to thumb my nose at society's expectations of me as a general rule... this is just another prime example. :wink:

I always shave my armpits, but sometimes I am just too lazy to shave my legs.

I shave I cant stand hair specially on my legs. When I wear shorts it sticks out like a sore thumb. Same with under my arms I would be embarassed to lift my arms and have hair as long as whats on my head under my arms.

I'm one of those lucky ones that don't have to shave my legs because I don't have hair on them and I only get 2 or 3 thin hairs that grow at a time in my armpits so I just pluck them out.

I shave just my lower legs, from my knees down. My thighs are covered with really fine short blond hair that's barely noticeable so I rarely bother messing with it. Definately shave my pits. It's icky dark black there. I have tried depilitory creams and I've tried waxing on my legs. Waxing was so incredibly painful and my hair didn't all come out even. The creams, even for sensitive skin, and even when used for less than the recommended minimum time limit caused me burning. Half of my leg was red and looked almost blistered (it wasn't just inflamed) for 2 days. I can't handle creams. I shave and have gotten really good at it. I usually only nick myself once every couple months or even just a couple times a year. I make sure I use a quality straight razor with disposible blades (not the cheap whole disposible razors) and I change the blades about every 3 full body shaves (or more often) to keep it sharp. The sharper it is, and the fewer times you go over the same area the better the shave and less irritation or ingrown hairs even. I also use an exfoliant in between shaves to keep things from getting ingrown. I don't have too much trouble with ingrown hairs since I started that.

Count me as another "shave everything from the neck down." I absolutely love the feeling of being all smooth and clean and sliding in between clean cotton sheets.

I'm sure it's a societal thing, but I can't *not* shave.

I hate shaving, but I do like the effects when I have shaved, something about being naked and smooth...I do it for myself more than anything else- the hubby doesn't care (he perhaps does about pits), and I only shave when I feel like it anymore. especially because it's winter!
