Hi! my name is Amber. I'm 22 and a college student graduating in May WooHoo!!

BuffySummers 11-15-2004 02:18 AM

Hello this is my first post. My husband and I have just joined. I'm 26 years old, and married to a wonderful man! We have 2 daughters ages 5 and 1!

Epiphanies 11-15-2004 05:48 PM

Wow, after reading some of the intros on this page I feel kinda old...30 here ;) For all you youngin's out there, allow me to allay your fears...being 30 is like being 25 with a lot more money and life experience .

Well, after surfing the site topics, I'm VERY excited about participating! Happy hunting to me :D

Grasshopper Green 11-20-2004 08:31 PM

I guess I should introduce myself properly as well. I'm Nadine, I live in Salt Lake City, and I'm married and have a little boy who will be three in January. I found this board thru a friend and I'm very glad he introduced me! I've become an addict in a few days ;)

Peloquin 11-23-2004 07:02 PM

Hi. I'm new to the whole TFP thing. My husband got me turned on to it. Just a bit about me.... I'm 35, a wife, a mother, a wannabe writer :-), and at 35 I need to quit being so introverted. So here I am jumping in feet first.

bad jane 11-24-2004 03:24 PM

i just joined tfp, my bf pointed me this direction. i'm a twentysomething slacker with no kids :) i work, sometimes go to school and spend plenty of time online (although not so much during holiday season--very busy time for me and mine).

lazygirl 11-24-2004 04:23 PM

Hey, I saw a link posted to this board, I like reading what other people have to say about the world.

Bryndian_Dhai 11-24-2004 05:18 PM

Hi, I'm Bryn. I've been hanging around TFP for a while now, but haven't introduced myself, or really explored past Tilted Sexuality and the Music Trivia game I'm obsessed with. *grins*

I'm 33, happily married (going on 9 years), no kids. I have two adorable dachshunds. I'm a full time student, kind of a late bloomer.... I just started from scratch after thirteen years out of school. Eventually, I'll have a bachelor's degree in English before I move on to get my Master's degree in Education.

Well, that's the salient points. If you're interested in more, just ask.

B

indigochild111 11-30-2004 10:23 PM

Hi, I'm Shayna and I'm relatively new to TFP. My boyfriend introduced me to it through tilted exhibition (elwoodblues) so you can see me up there if you'd like :)
I don't really know what else to say except..that I really like TFP and feel really comfortable here :)

jaded 12-01-2004 11:56 PM

Just realized that I haven\'t officially introduced myself, so here we go:

Hi, I\'m Jade, twenty-something in New England, currently in grad school. Nice to meet all ya ladies here!

Livia Regina 12-02-2004 04:29 PM

I just realized that I never introduced myself either. Hello everyone, I'm a college student who is currently trying not to get burnt at the stake (I picked the wrong college) and to do well on finals. Now I hear a French paper calling my name and I must heed the call or fail the class.

Brooke 12-06-2004 12:08 PM

*blinks*

Well, I noticed the Regina the queen introduced herself, and that reminded me that I didn't either.
Brooke is my "name" here in Michigan waiting for life to being and then realizing on random days that it already has! I wont tell you about myself - I will let others more wise that I give the story!

Hey all!

This site is reallly wonderful . . . i think you've all got something great going on here . . . honesty about everything from sex to society, LOVE it! :)

I am 23, finishing my senior year in Human Services degree, currently working as a respite provider and phsyical therapist assistent with a mentally disabled client. I love my work . . .
Married 3 years to my cute hubby and best friend since i was 14 . . . And although i am committed to a man, I am bi and attracted to woman . . . i think woman are gorgeous and just plain erotic :) Something special about woman that men don't have :) But alas, being married . . . i can look but not touch ;)

I have a adorable puppy, Shelby, horses and two cats who came to me as strays . . . I am a sucker for a stray animal ;)

Turn ons: People being free, love, kindness, finding yourself, honesty, tolerance, non-judgemental people, tatoos (although i don't have one, but want to get one someday)

Turn offs: Rude people, narrow minded people, animal cruelty, fitting in a box, not being yourself.

TFP is totally wonderful and i am so happy to be here!!

peace ya'all!

I have some bi-curious feelings. I have a theory that as women age, sometimes they become a bit more in-tune with the broad spectrum of sexuality. It seems those of you that know you are bi-sexual are a bit ahead of the game, and I think that's pretty cool.

Hello everyone,
I am Maria. It's a pleasure to be aboard, thanks for the welcome! I will be graduating from St. John's University in May of this year with a Masters Degree in English Literature. Yay!

I currently live in NY, I don't like it much here, it was much better when I was younger. I am the author of the book 'whispers in the wind' and currently published my newer pride 'eventide bliss' which will hit bookstores soon.

I am sure all of you females are super cool and that is why I decided to post here so that I can meet all of you!

Kisses.

Hello. I have been reading TFP for awhile through my husband, but just decided to join. It seems interesting, so I thought I would finally join. I can now post my ideas and opinions too. We recently moved to Chicago, I am getting my Master's degree, and am hoping to get some relaxation and mental breaks. I definitely need the breaks since I spend my day with 26 4th and 5th graders. Anyway, enough about me. Just thought I would type a hello and give a slight introduction.

ophelia783 02-05-2005 01:13 AM

Howatzin 02-27-2005 09:11 PM

I'm 22 and I'm a married woman looking to talk to ladies about girl stuff.

Atropos4 02-28-2005 02:17 PM

I thought about just starting a thread but thought again.
So I'll reintroduce myself seeing how most everyone probably forgot about me.

I'm married to Alpha Phi for almost 5 years now. Michigander but not for too much longer. After I graduate from school we'll be moving south. Yep I went back to school! I'm going to be a professional pet groomer. It's the perfect career for me. I know I'll be happy. No kids, and we decided not to have any. For many good reasons. A lot of things have changed with me and I've grown up even more than I thought possible, but in a lot of ways I'm still that kid at heart. I haven't been around due to my busyness and I help run a HP related forum. Hope all you olbies have been doing well and hello to all you new ladies.

03-01-2005 06:58 AM

Hi , I just wanted to introduce myself properly :)

My names Lynne and Im 40 and sadly all too single :( Im not too talkative and i have sadly very low self esteem which I might as well stress here and now because no doubt it will surface in time anyway.

Ive been lurking and only posted a few times since christmas but Ive decided to give myself a push and see if I can cope with being among all the grown ups :p

i may fail miserably and run away crying with my tail between my legs but nothing is gained from not trying.

Maybe ill feel at home here and end up being a prolific poster , that would be nice.

Anyway thanks for reading and i hope I have a little bit worth contributing. :)

darkangel 03-01-2005 07:11 AM

Despite my odd nickname, I am of the female gender  I haven't posted in this section yet because I haven't found much to say...

But I'm 19, portrait artist, Jimi Hendrix superfan and a lead electric guitarist.

Glad to meet you all! :)

Ladyhawke 03-01-2005 02:47 PM

thank for wish me my birthday i hope we on fun

Gilda 03-02-2005 12:19 PM

I'm Gilda. I'm a middle school humanities teacher of around 30 years old (give or take a year or two). I love comic books and old movies. I'm in a three-year monogamous relationship with another woman, to whom I would be married if that were legally possible, and whom I think of as my spouse in every other meaningful way.

I think this forum is a wonderful place, and I'm impressed with the support the women are showing for each other here, and it must be nice for the guys to see how it is women relate to each other on a personal level when they aren't a part of the conversation. I haven't posted to any of the threads in this forum yet because I haven't seen anything to which I think my exeriences would be relevant.

I love the supportive atmosphere here. The tone is so much nicer than other places I tried before I found this place.

Ladyhawke 03-02-2005 02:05 PM

my name is wanda i like woman and men i work walgreen i like to swimming i have three kids i am 36 felman i live in dallas, texas

Manuel Hong 03-02-2005 02:21 PM

Welcome aboard Gals! Nice to have you all in our community. I'm sure you'll love it as much as I do. Shout out to Superredhead, Ladyhawke, Howatzin, ei555 (rock on!).
Lin and Gilda, please don't hold back, your thoughts are always relevant and this is a very supportive and loving place (especially this here Ladies Lounge).
Welcome back Atropos4!
Have fun all! :icare:
-Manny

Gilda 03-02-2005 03:23 PM

Oh, I'm not shy about posting--I've probably got a dozen posts in various other places--I just haven't seen anything in the ladies lounge where my experiences would be relevant. Many of the threads seem to deal with how to deal with male-female relationships, which for the most part leaves me on the sidelines, which is fine with me. I still find it interesting seeing how women who are in dating situations with men handle that, and how that's different from two women in a relationship, and I'll read here just for that reason.

Manuel Hong 03-02-2005 04:55 PM

I'd like to hear what you have to say about those differences...maybe you'd like to post a thread about it sometime. Sounds like it would be an interesting conversation.

Gilda 03-03-2005 12:10 AM

I'm going to hold off on posting new threads while I'm new and just contribute to others for a while, until I get a handle on this place.

However, I can say the one major difference I've noticed. Most women in a romantic relationship have a separate same-sex best friend. My romantic / sexual life partner is my same sex best friend; I don't have to separate the way I operate in my romantic relationship from how I operate emotionally with my best friend, because they're both the same person.

Manuel Hong 03-03-2005 11:40 AM

Gilda,
I thinks that'a really interesting. My exhusband was also my best friend and I didn't ever really have too many girlfriends (not very close ones anyway). I found that one person couldn't provide all the things I needed in a relationship. Anyway we split up for a number of reasons...
Since then I have developed a few close friendships with women for the first time. Different friends provide different stimuli and it's been very gratifying. My new boyfriend is a friend as well as a lover, but I really need my girls too.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy it here and I look forward to reading your contributions.

Gilda 03-03-2005 03:23 PM

Yeah, I hear what you're saying. I don't want to hijack the intro thread to keep talking about this, so I'll just make one more comment.

I know married couples who say that they are each other's best friends, and I never doubt their sincerity. But in most cases, both partners have a separate, same-sex best friend (or second best friend I suppose), from whom they get things most men and woman can only get from a same-sex relationships. Sure, there are those who don't have this and don't need it, but I do think it's very common. In my case, that close same-sex relationship and the romantic one are the same relationship; they're intertwined so much that I can't separate the elements from each other.

I'll let this go for now. I don't want to hijack a thread, or even start a new one comparing lesbian relationships to heterosexual ones my third day here. Wouldn't be prudent.

Oh, and I've decided some of my experiences are relevant. I have had sexual relationships with men; enough to know that that isn't my cup of tea, but enough that I think I might have something to say about them.

cellophanedeity 03-06-2005 07:34 PM

Hello Everyone!

Well, what to say about me?

I'm a baby. I can't even drink yet. This'll be my first post on TFP, dedicated to all of the ladies out there. Or something...

I volunteer at UofT's sex-ed centre. I'm omnisexual and in a longterm relationship with a guy. I intend on doing some stencil work around the city one day, but I'm a bit of a pansy. I flirt, but it is not to be taken seriously.

I suppose that's all for now.

Gilda 03-10-2005 03:01 PM

Hello cellophanedeity!

Yay! I'm not the newest one here anymore!

[does the dance of joy]

I was the last new girl here. This is a great place. I was a little shy about posting in here the first couple of days, but I've gotten over it. I even posted my first new thread in the Ladies Lounge. I'll be looking forward to reading your posts.

And I see you're not shy about contributing, either. Welcome.

Starlight4 03-10-2005 11:21 PM

I've been searching long and wide for a message board where I thought I would fit in... I think I found it... :)

Hi everyone

I usually just kinda hang in the back and watch everyone else. However my friend Amnesia620 has successfully removed me from my corner. So, HI, I'm new, 27, I work full-time and go to school full-time (online classes are great).
I am also the proud owner of my own mini-me, my beautiful overly spirited 4 year old daughter! Anyway this seems like a great place and it's very addicting. :)

Amnesia620 03-24-2005 08:06 PM

Welcome, ScarletLeo...nice name, by the way! ;) Glad I could help. :D
I hope you enjoy it here on TFP when you can find the time (to waste) ... Miss you girl... remember to check out my poetry in Tilted Literature...oh, and be nice to tecoyah, the moderator...he's mah homie. jk! Nah, he is a friend and he's cool, too...
as is most everyone on here...like Halx, Amonkie, Pinkie, Shanifaye, Seer666, K-Wise, etc...(sorry if I didn't name someone important)

Ok xoxoxxoxoxoxo bye! Love you!

Ladyhawke 03-26-2005 05:29 PM

i like girl and woman i like what you said

settie 04-03-2005 01:15 AM

Months ago I became a member of TFP. But I never noticed this thread until now! :O So hello ladies, I'm settie (my crazy nickname, kinda taken from my actual name, Steph), 18, female, single, and very happy to be here! I love coming to the Ladies Lounge to read and occasionally post about the latest stuff happening to all the females on TFP. All you ladies are awesome, and I'm glad to have found such an awesome forum. :)

Meditrina 04-10-2005 07:09 PM

Hi. I am new to TFP. My name is Laura. I am almost 36, married with 2 kids. I am feeling shy right now, but would like to join in here. I could use some ladies to talk with.

Gilda 04-10-2005 07:20 PM

Welcome sportswido05! It's always nice to have a new lady for girl talk. Don't be shy, we're eager to hear from you.

I'm 18, female of corse and work at a pottery studio. And I'm happy to be able to post in such a positive, supportive community.

Sue McGee 04-23-2005 02:58 PM

Hello! I'm very, very new. I just found this forum by surfing around--looks like an excellent place to talk about sex & life, comfortably. I'm 36, married for one year to a super good guy, no kids, two cats (love 'em!), grad student turning into a librarian. Trying to keep stress levels to a minimum.

I should have introduced myself before ranting.

I'm Liz, 21, living in Fresno but moving to Sacramento soon. I'm pregnant with my first child (21 weeks tomorrow) which is pure luck - I've been diagnosed as infertile and told my chances of getting pregnant were worse than winning the lotto. I'm a computer-lover (so much that I built my own dual xeon server), videogame addict, and avid reader of anything I can get my hands on, usually textbooks from college. The begining of the semester I feel like a kid in a candy store, it's sick.

Relax -- Computer skills aren't necessary -- Reading and opinions are quite helpful.

Poke around, look at a topic that interests you and start reading.. .if you have an opinion, be sure to share it.

it's a great idea to start with the sticky threads first - -thats the threads that are at the top of each forum, those will give you the guidelines for behavior.

If you have a question.. ask.. we'll help

Now -- get out there and have fun

Elphaba 05-06-2005 05:01 PM

May I say amen to that? Mal has patiently walked me through all sorts of techno-dork questions. I'm still a techno-dork, but I'm learning slowly, but surely. :)

Hi all! I'm new to the TFP. I'm also all new to message boards and that sortof stuff. I'll start by telling you alittle about myself. I'm 32 years old and have four kids ranging in age from 2 to 14. We are the typical blended family. My husband and I have been married for 4 years, together for 8. I chose Getwonk'd for a screen name because my usual screen name was taken. It was the first thing I saw while signing up, my sons box of nerds. I hope to get to know alot of you better.

Sultana 06-26-2005 02:36 PM

Well hello all! This forum was recommended to me by a good friend I just met (!). I'm not new to boards, but most of the posting I do is on Middle Eastern/fusion dance related sites.
I'm looking around right now, getting a feel for things. One of the things I noticed is the emphasis on contribution, so I thought the least I could do is introduce myself here.
I don't dance all the time, so during the day I'm a tech. editor and systems integration analyst.
No kids. Love and have cats. Love performance arts, and in my neck of the woods (access to Hollywood-not movie Hollywood, but old-theater/dance stuff) I am spoiled in that regard. I consider myself open-minded (but then, who admits to being closed minded? heh).
Also enjoy travel, wine (although I'm more of a wine dork than a snob--"what do you have under $10?"), Sci-Fi, chocolate martinis (as extensive field research in Las Vegas will testify!), and more than anything else, witty reparté.

I guess this is a long enough intro. See you all around, hmm?

amonkie 06-26-2005 05:22 PM

Welcome Sultana! Great start on the contributions - I hope you find some places here to plug into your interests - all best approached with that open mind of yours :)

Hi to everyone from sunny southern Ontario (Canada),

I'm a 29 y.o. grad student in engineering, working through a divorce. I have two wacky Siamese cats, and I love visual art, especially drawings and mixed media. I'm also into learning more about jazz and blues - having just discovered that I love 'em both.

Looking forward to getting to know you!

Hi all, I am new. I guess this is a good place to ask, how do I get an Avatar? I couldn't find a place to add one. I found in the CP the "Edit Avatar" plave but I only have the option of "No Avatar." Any advice?

Jinxed 08-01-2005 02:45 AM

Thanks for the welcome. Wow this is such an AWESOME idea for a forum. Just for us ladies. ;)

Don't have too many female friends so it will be great to sit and chitchat with you lot.

I'm 25, single, no kids, too many pets, and slowly going crazy. :)

Nice, neat, very cool to be here!
