Has anyone tried this yet? Or do you know someone who has? I've been sucked in by the infomercials, but I've yet to succumb to ordering. It looks good but I dunno...

InStyler Rotating Hot Iron Hair Straightener

Oh! I want one! I suck at doing my hair and that would make it so much simpler.

I know, right?! My arms hurt when I try to use a thermal brush and hairdryer. And getting the hair on the back of my head is a bitch. This looks like it'd be so much easier and versatile.

they actually work just as well as they say. the owner of the salon i used to work at buys them from some guy who gets them in charlotte and she resells them. i watched her do someone's hair with one and it doesn't take as long as they do on tv. and it really does give volume too.

**edit** the only complaint i heard was that it only rotates one way so doing one side of your head is more awkward than the other.

Yeah the infomercial is really quite impressive. Looks like it would do a great job on any type of hair. Mine's pretty long and using a brush and dryer is way cumbersome. But it looks like this tool would smooth it out and add lots of bounce, np.

I did some part-time work from home answering calls for the infomercials and was able to buy it at an employee price for the two-fer deal that was going during the last holiday season.

I gave one to my older daughter who uses it on occasion but prefers her Chi for straightening.

My two teens prefer their Chi, too.

The Chi doesn't work well for me since I have thick curly, frizzy hair, so I've been happy with the Instyler the few times I've used it. Results are good although to do it right, it takes me about an hour. Since I don't look right with my hair stick-straight, I like that you can actually control it and do soft curls.

I'll give it a thumbs-up. Just don't overpay. Some googling or eBay may net a better price.

Yeah I don't need a straightener for my stick straight hair. That's what drew me to this - it looks like it smooths out the hair and can add volume or curl depending on how you control it. But an HOUR?? Yikes. I don't think it'd take that long for me though. My hair's actually pretty fine while yours is the complete opposite. Lucky. lol

hmmm this might be a good product to use on my daughter's hair. Her hair is not curly but extremely thick and a bit frizzy. I use the chi on her every week. I wonder if this would be better. Do you use this when the hair is wet? would it be easy and safe for a 12 yr old to use it herself?

I'm intrigued and frightened at the same time.

My hair's superstraight, and really fine, so I'd be using it for polishing and curling, not straightening... but to be honest...I'd probably use it once or twice, and then it would sit in the bathroom closet collecting dust.

I wonder if there's a trial period.

I don't think it can be used on wet hair. And I'd think a 12 year old wouldn't have a problem. Hell, we might have problems handling it though lol.
Cinn, my hair is actually very similar to yours. I just put product in it and style to make it look thicker - I've become a master at this lol. But I think this thing would work really well in our hair.

I am definitely going to search eBay for this. It seems to be something I can share with my daughter. :)
