My very first girl crush was when I was eight years old. I watched a movie called, “Fire Starter” and became almost obsessed with Drew Barrymore. I can remember going out in the back yard and trying to set things on fire using the power of my mind like she did in the movie… LOL! I watched other popular movies she played in such as E.T. and Cat Eyes, but Fire Starter was my favorite. I’m not sure that I ever really got over my crush on her, though. I’ve collected so many pictures of her over the years that I feel like I’ve grown up with her!

Oh, I remember the first time I watched Cabaret as a kid and was so completely mesmerized and enthralled with Liza Minelli. I still love that movie and as I have gotten older I have been able to appreciate it in a different way.

Starkizzer, I love Cabaret, too! Liza was so fabulous in that movie. I have the soundtrack and sometimes I just got to break out Maybe This Time and sing along...loudly!
Because I have watched The Hudsucker Proxy three times in the last month...largely because of this woman (Jennifer Jason Leigh - she is so perfect in that film). She has been so perfect in so many films...she is an unbelievably underrated actress. This is her in Hudsucker...not many pictures of her in this film out there. I so want to be her - the wisecracking reporter who flips her hair around, slaps men and storms off indignantly. Awesome. Post-adolescent music crushes... Chrissie Hynde Blondie

Christina Ricci!
I just realized that I have another girl crush on: Christina Ricci.
Many many years ago I grew very fond of her based on movies like Casper, Now and Then, and Golddiggers. I'm pretty close to her age, which I think helped. :P She was always very beautiful. I was just skimming some sites and found a beautiful picture of her, and had to add her to my girl crush list. :P She is stunning. I should take some tips from her when it comes to fashion, she's only an inch shorter than me. Its tough finding the right fit of clothes when you're shorter than average. She does it well. She's so petite! Last edited by settie; 03-12-2009 at 06:02 PM.. |

I haven't been able to find a good example image, but I was reminded last night about the amazing body language of Nancy Sinatra. She was amazing in her younger years.

ok, I have to say, that I don't see myself as generally having girl crushes!
But reading through this thread, I have to admit many of the mentioned ladies are women I have admired at one time or another. mm, I'm suprised you mentioned Maria de Medeiros I thought I'd mention a couple I have 'crushed' on that no-one has mentioned so far: Marisol (Pepa Flores) - Spanish child actress/singer - I wanted to sing like her! Can't post pics because she was underage. Leslie Caron - I could get lost in those eyes! Here she is in 'Gigi': And of course, who could forget, Bette Davis:

I was just thinking about this thread the other day and wondered how I could have forgotten to include PJ Harvey...then I forgot again, lol. Thanks for reviving it and reminding me.
More than a crush on PJ Harvey, some days I actually want to be PJ Harvey. I love her. ---------- Post added at 02:04 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:55 PM ---------- probably my earliest girl crush... ...and a non-Scarlett photo *sigh* stunning ---------- Post added at 02:12 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:04 PM ---------- And the first time I saw Paulette Goddard in 'The Women' wearing a little cowgirl outfit, my little heart went pit-a-pat. A fetish was born. Too bad I couldn't find a decent picture of her in it, but this will do.

As a child watching B&W movies on TV, I had the maddest crush on Olivia deHavilland.
Isabella Rossellini When I saw 9-1/2 Weeks, Kim Basinger: Diane Lane I could probably go on and on. Many have already been mentioned, but I've had so many girl crushes.

Neko Case has my heart now. Anyone with hair that wild, lyrics that brilliant and a voice that haunting can keep me forever.

Which reminds me of someone freshly missed. Any The L Word fans? I don't know a straight girl who quite understands why she's had such a mad crush on Katherine Moennig.
