girl crush.
Between last night and this morning I watched the entire first season of Weeds. I enjoyed it very much. And it has confirmed for me the feelings I had for Mary-Louise Parker when I watched Fried Green Tomatoes for the first time last year.
I have a girl crush on Mary-Louise Parker. How about you? What ladies do you find to be irresistibly charming?

oh, Susan Sarandon...yes!
quite possibly my first girl crush...when I saw her in this film, Atlantic City in about 1980...i'd guess. I would have been about 15 and very impressionable.

I have a few girl crushes.
My biggest is probably Angelina Jolie: And then there's Laetitia Casta, my original girl crush: Dita von Teese: And Selma Blair: Despite the fact that I have seen Hellboy on FX several times now, if I see it on, I will watch it again just to get a dose of Selma.

Thinking about it more today, I am realizing that I have had quite a few girl crushes over the years...three more
I loved Rosanna Arquette the first time I saw her...in the Scorsese movie After Hours. This would have been the '80s, too...probably '85 - '86. Then there were two women I first saw in Hal Hartley films in the late '80s, early '90s... Adrienne Shelly, who unfortunately is no longer with us... and Parker Posey...

I think my first girl crush is my best friend, Vanessa. We've been best friends since were were four and she has this aura about her.
The second would have to be Helena Bonham Carter, even when she looks crazy she is still crazy hot.

Yeah, the girl crush thing for me is not strictly a sexual attraction.
It's more like an admiration for fine art, and a oh my god I wish I had angelina's legs, or yes yes yes it would be fun to be that person, or a fantasy that we would be great friends. I don't have time, but I'd like to put up a picture of Whoopie Goldberg |

No, it's not necessarily sexual, but all of the women I have had girl crushes on have a particular sexiness about them...and they all come across as smart, interesting women who don't have to rely on their looks to be sexy.
I have had a crush on kd lang for many years....

These always sneak up on me.
Shiri Appleby (but I think she's even more adorable in her ER doctor outfit, complete with glasses). All of the main women in Bones (L to R: Michaela Conlin, Emily Deschanel & Tamara Taylor). Morena Baccarin from Firefly. (Doesn't she look like our own Tippler?) Tina Fey I also appreciate Amy Poehler and Reese Witherspoon, but I can't seem to find pictures that capture what I like about them. The ones that disturb me a little are Jennifer Connelly and Meg Ryan. In a way, this is very complex subject that I wish I had more time to get into. Suffice it to say that these are all women I find attractive in a way that makes me go, "she's pretty" and simultaneously want to give them a hug.

I love Mary-Louise Parker and Morena Baccarin as well... but also
Audrey Tautou and I totally have an Uma thing... Shirley (pre-Sarah Connor Chronicles, though) Navi Rawat makes Numb3rs awesome. I have more, I just can't think of them at the moment. Girl crushes are fun.

Michelle Pfeiffer in Ladyhawke was my first girl crush, back when I was young and innocent and years before I came out. (Now I have lots and lots of girl crushes. Tee hee!)
And yes, Ladyhawke remains one of my favorite movies of all time.

She was so beautiful in that movie...and I didn't even like the movie much, but I watched it over and over again on HBO to see her in it.

that is a great photo of her. she is truly awesome. even though the movie wasn't that great, one of my favorite movie moments is in The Color Purple when she finally tells 'Mister' that she's leaving him and he can go to hell...in so many words. That's a great scene.

It took me a while to think of someone that I had a girl crush on, that's famous, since I'm Bi I have a lot of girls I would love to be in persute of. They would be Ms.Eazy, Becky, and my best friend Lisa, whom doesn't feel the same way anymore.
But I'm in love with Twiggy the model, I have the nickname of twiggy because a few friends of mind in high school thought that I looked like her when I had short hair. She is one reason why I'm a model |

Oh, Isla Fisher and Jodie Foster for sure.
I also like Amy Acker... but the "crush" part is more for the character of Fred than the actress:

How did I forget Laura Linney?
...it appears that I have more girl crushes than I originally thought. Oh, and Miranda Otto. Although, again, that may be more of a character crush...

...jesus, and then there's more...maybe I missed my calling.
I think i am still being moved by this one...modeling myself on this one even. I saw her first in King Kong, but took a my first long, hard look in 1982-3 when I saw her late at night on cable in The Postman Always Rings Twice... Jessica Lange... and then there was Meryl Streep...I saw her first in the Woody Allen film Manhattan, and even when I re-watch the movie now (which was just last week) and even though her part was small, she takes my breath away...wow, a real presence she is...
