Homeopathic PMS Tablets

No, I am not trying to sell you any. I was just wondering if any of you have ever tried them? If so, what was your experience with them? If not, would you try them?

I had bought a bottle awhile ago and rarely remembered to use them. Lately, my PMS has started 2 weeks prior to when my period was supposed to start. It is wrecking havoc on my moods. Then it hit me! I have these pills in the medicine cabinet, why not try them? I noticed quite a difference as the day went on. I could even tell when it was time to take them again. I just ordered more. I'd much rather let my body heal itself then take unnecessary medications. Of course, if it does not work, I will call the doctor. But so far, so good. and when the time comes, I may even try their menopause formula.

This is what I am taking: Hyland's PMS

Hyland's PMS is a traditional homeopathic formula for the relief of symptoms of painful menstruation, cramping and irritability associated with the menstrual period. Working without contraindications or side effects, Hyland's PMS stimulates your body's natural healing response to relieve symptoms. Hyland's PMS can be used in conjunction with other medications.

I use Boiron's Cyclease Cramp for my periods, as they're often painful. I've found it really helps. I'm not sure if this is due to actual effectiveness or placebo effect, but either way, I'm happy. So yes, I've tried them, and in fact use them most cycles to get me through it.

Right now I'm using Boiron's Coldcalm to help me out with the sniffles. It definitely takes the ookieness out of a cold.

My bc seems to have leveled out both moods and gotten rid of cramps so no, I don't take anything like that. But I will definitely keep them in mind for when the day comes that I no longer take the Baby-B-Gone pills.

Sounds interesting, though I can't say I've tried any of these. I also couldn't take the one mentioned because I am lactose intolerant, though not excessively so. I never take homeopathic remedies because I have a couple of illnesses that could be aggravated by indiscriminate use of medication, and also, as far as I understand it, here in Portugal there is no control/fiscalization of the production of this type of medication so you could actually be taking something that could harm you. Same goes for generic medication here. Not sure how that works abroad.

There are very strict standards in place in regards to safety of homeopathic medications in the United States, but they do not need to prove the efficacy of said product.

Hops is a very old remedy that is useful for cramping and anxiety/irritability during PMS. You can get hops tea at some well-stocked natural food stores, or order it online. Be careful to get a good brand and not just bulk hops in a sack, since there is a VERY bitter component to the hops flower that makes an unpleasant tea. I used to use this when I was a teenager and had terrible periods that lasted for ages.

You can also just have a beer Something hoppy and unfiltered like Sam Adams would be a good decision. It's not as good as the tea but if you have enough beers you may not care anymore.

I think many people make assumptions that "natural" means safe, forgetting that not all pharmaceuticals are synthetic. All medicines should be treated with the same caution. I would be skeptical at anything that has claims to be 100% safe and check with the pharmacist for interactions with any other drugs you may be taking.

I have not tried homeopathic pms tablets. However, we have tried homeopathic teething tablets on two children and they seemed to work well. I have no idea WHY they work, because they do not numb the gums. But they do work. That in mind, I would not be opposed to trying one for pms if I needed it.
