I've got my brother Boris and the male friends I've had.

I love how he's protective of his little sisters, even though we're both older than he is.
I love how, even though he's about as mainstream sexually as they come, he doesn't give a damn that we aren't.

Why did it take me so long to find this friggen rad thread?

I've been with Turbotom now for 2 years. Our anniversary was the day before the super bowl. Nice having an anniversary that he remembers better than I do!

So here's what I love about him (not just any men):

1) That goofy grin he gets when he's had a little beer.
2) The warmth and clinginess of a simple hug.
3) The gentle concern in his voice when he knows things aren't going ok.
4) The way he cares about staying healthy, and working out -- and how his sculpted body shows it.
5) How gentle his lips are when he kisses me when we're both half asleep.
6) How I feel safe and protected when I'm in his house, surrounded by Turbotom and his brothers.
7) That look in his eyes when he tells me he loves me.
8) How he tries to hide his laughter (then eventually gives up, and we laugh together) when I prove my incompetance with a simple video game.

What I love about Men:
-The way their hugs seem to make everything alright again. Like being in a protective bubble of comfort.

I like this thread but I could go on all day as to what I love about my boyfriend so I will limit myself to ten things.

1.) The feel of his arms around me and the surge of emotions when he kisses me.
2.) Looking at his goofy expressions when we are laughing and having a good time.
3.) Falling asleep in his arms at night when I am all "nestled" in my nuke (my nuke is what I call my space where I cuddle up next to his chest with his arm around me).
4.) Waking up in the morning and thinking how much I love the person laying next to me and how lucky I am to have him.
5.) I love his big brown eyes. My boyfriend has the biggest and most gorgeous brown eyes I have ever seen and they make me melt when he gives me the "puppy dog face".
6.) I love to see him get all excited like a little boy at christmas when he talks about his toys, like motorcyles, and guns, and planes, ect.

You know, there's a lot of things I love about men that aren't romantic.

• There's more geekery
• I can punch them without hurting them too much... or at least without having them admit it hurts
• They're so nice to hug, because the majority of them are bigger than me and it feels like you're being completely enveloped.
• They laugh and playfully wrestle you if you tackle them
• The way some of them get into the "nonchalent but completely grossed out" thing if you talk about your period
• There's always something you can only learn from a male, simply because of the unique perspective
• I find that men are often more approachable than women
• Males are very protective of their female friends. They all seem to want to play big brother to a little sis'.
• They often have better gossip than women do. They hear the guy's stuff.

I like men a lot. For the most part, I prefer the company of guys to girls, but that may just be because of the people I hang around with.

As for me, and this may sound corny, I love the little things that make us so different. I don't know if that makes any sense...

Examples

I love how excited they get over tools, cars, sports, or gravel.
I love how they never stop trying to impress us. "Yeah he went bungee jumping, but I went skydiving!!"

Things I love about GAY MEN:

-They are generally better girlfriends than your girlfriends, in many ways.
-They usually have more and better beauty products than you do.
-They can teach you more about giving BJs than anyone!
-You can generally give your gay BFs more shit about their taste in men, and they have a sense of humor about it, and give you shit right back.
-Being gay is some shit to go through, and thus they understand about going through shit in general and are tough and understanding.
-Most straight women ('fruit flies' like me and not obnoxious bachelorette partiers) are very safe at the gay men's bar and well taken care of.
-They are generally funnier than most people, in my experience, and can make me laugh when no one else can.
