Condoms?
I know that there have been a couple of threads on condoms but none seem to fit.
Ok, my SO and I can't seem to find any condoms that seem right. I personally dislike them, and feel that they steal a lot of the sensation, but I rather use them just to be safe. We usually stop half way to put one on, but every condom we've used (we've tried all different types, non-latex as well and use plenty of lube..) just doesn't feel right. It kind of feels like there is a loose latex glove sliding and shifting around inside of me. I thought that maybe it was the fit, but it seems to fit fine. Does anyone else have the same sensation while using condoms? Any advice on any good kinds or how to avoid that uncomfortable feeling? |
Wow, usually it's the guy who complains about feeling of a latex glove sliding around... interesting that you are a woman and are feeling that.
Do you think it might be a mental thing? I've noticed that the more mentally resistant couples (and especially men) are to condoms, the more they complain of discomfort when using them. It can become a self-reinforcing cycle. That said, I assume you've tried extra-thin condoms? Not just the ones you can buy at the grocery stores... the ones you can order online, or buy at good quality sex shops (e.g. Good Vibrations or Babeland). They are a little more expensive, usually in the 60-90 cent range per condom, but they can be worth it. Lastly, have you had this problem with any previous partners (if you had any), or is it just this guy? And are you on hormonal BC as well? |
Kimono Micro-Thins were always my favorite- they provided the best sensation with the least problems.

I don't really think it's a mental thing, I don't remember ever having that feeling in the past, and yes I am on hormonal BC. I'll definitely try investing in some higher quality ones, and see if that works.. definitely makes sense. Thanks so much for your reply :) |
I think the fit does make a difference. It may seem like it fits ok but it's a little loose when it comes to moving around. The lack of fit is one reason why condoms can slip off inside. I've read a little but don't have any personal experience with condomania.com. I've heard from some swingers that they are satisfied with the condoms you can get from there.
Have you tried the non-latex sort? I prefer the lambskin ones. They're thinner, conduct warmth better, and they seem to stay put better. |
