Off-Season Cramps?
Hey folks, thought you might have some advice here.
Last couple of weeks I have felt a little odd. Able to do everything normal, period has been consistant and what-not. So I'm on my usual clock. But I've felt a mild ache of cramps in my lower abdomen almost constantly for the past two weeks. Not the right time of the month. It hasn't slowed me down, it's not much of a difficulty or pain and very easy to ignore. For a while there I just thought it was in my head, but it seems too consistant. I have been keeping a more physical workout routine than usual, but that is the only difference I can see in my routine and eating habits. Any advice you can give would be great. |
So, you're not on your period, but you're feeling low-grade cramps all the time?
If this is the case, I'd say don't worry about it- go to your OBGYN if you'd like a second opnion, or call up their office and just see if you can speak to a nurse. If the ONLY thing that's going on is the cramping- no spotting, no abnormal discharge, no pain during sex, then it really sounds like nothing. Getting your doctor's opnion is really the best thing to do, however. |
Yep, low-grade cramps, all the time. Thanks for the advice, Sage!

Some of it could be a lack of calcium which affect all your muscles but especially your abdominal ones.
Have you done any stretching? Might just need some stretching out. The other thing that came to mind was, when I had my Inguinal hernia I noticed a cramping feeling in that area often. I did not fully realize that it was the hernia creating that sensation until I'd healed and noticed that I didn't HAVE that cramping feeling. With all the possibilities it would probably be a good idea to see your Doc. I personally would probably put off going to the docs =, wondering if I wasn't imagining it (Just my personality - not trying to say anything about your situation) but the fact that it COULD be more crucial problems causing this would make me think a Dr's visit would actually be necessary. |
raeanna74, i hadn't even thought about a hernia. Thanks for your thoughtful comment!

It could also be a ovarian cyst, I had one of those and had cramps. I would defiantely get it checked out.
Having cramps when you are not supposed to be having them does not mean its normal if you have no other symptoms. Cramps are an indication that something is going on, so don't ignore it. |
Thank you, Nikki! My mother had an ovarian cyst when she was about my age. I wonder if this sort of a thing is genetic. I will look into making an appointment with an OBGYN soon.

Genuinegirly - I'm glad that you posted about this because I've been experiencing the same thing this week. Kinda crampy, nothing too bad, just enough to notice it and be a little confused. I switched BC pills recently (just started my third month on the new one), so I thought that might be a factor...
I'm not happy with the other side effects, so I'll be switching back to the old prescription. I'm hoping that this stops the cramps. |
