hmmm, I ticked over to tilted at somestage...- can't believe it! It's not so hard when you want to participate.. I've been looking into the ever deepening world of TFP, the journals, the magazine. Forget my "I'm in awe" post! I'm am ever so humbled to be a tiny little spick in this incredible adventure that is the TFP. The vision and goals of the creators and supporters here overwhelm me.
(edit) What I am really trying to express is I feel it's a privilege to be here, not a right

why is it such a big deal to not be a rookie anymore?
i mean, it's just a user title... why not say 'I can't wait until I've been around here for a bit, have checked stuff out, found some neat things and interacted with some cool people ... I can't wait until I feel more 'established' here..it's a cool website and I'm looking forward to being a part of it ...'. something like that, at least. that is what matters.

I'm past tilted and up to crazy, and nothing has changed for me here.
Then again, I'm not sure what is supposed to change. I read about some other boards open after you've been here awhile (I'm 6 weeks into this, I think), but I don't think they'd interest me. What does come next, featurewise, after one is declared "crazy?"

Do you know what features are available beyond the basics that a rookie has? It's all I'm seeing thus far. I've had two upgrades and have been here close to two months now.

There are multiple forums unavailable at this point to you......
Time is irrellevant to access to these forums, two months, Two years....it makes little difference.

A Zen-like answer to a direct question: What features are available when one is upgraded?
Fortunately, a kindly soul let me know via IM--doesn't sound like I'm missing anything that I'd care about (people showing they are anatomically correct, and showing others are as well--I already suspect as much) but I'm not sure what the Trampoline feature is. Is it worthwhile for someone that isn't looking for porn?

that's right...i am not a rookie anymore, although i see now why there is ...almost like a waiting period, before someone is made a full member.i was completely overwhelmed by some of the "new" threads.
when i opened one of them, i was shocked actually and a bit embarrassed i think people need to be eased into these things, im glad to have become tilted and i cant wait to do some more exploring. i've learned a whole lot by being here and learned alot from othere people.i've got so much more insight to many issues in life that i've been going through and that i may go through in the future. you guys are great. |

Interesting thread - interesting to get some idea of the inner workings of the TFP. Just how much time do the Mods invest in screening our postings and assessing their noteworthiness? (Just plain curiosity...)

I am tilted. I feel like I'm in the crooked lair of an enemy of Batman.
I don't know if it makes any difference, other than maybe long timers here are more likely to interact with a poster who has advanced beyond "lite" status? I do like the fact we can use profanity. Not because I like to cuss, but because profane words are as effective in some discussions as nice words in church. Some boards ban profanity. Ummm... That's not a benefit of being tilted, just a general admirement of the board. I'll shut up now.

I have been around here since like 2001 or so it seems and i have seen this forum change in many ways. I have never been much of a poster and originally came here when it was related to unreal if i remember correctly. But anyway to the point. I just wanted to thank all of the people that have made this board what it is and to Halx and all the moderators because even though i will always be a rookie since i don't post much, I don't mind one bit. It is exciting just getting to log on for maybe five minutes a day to read what some of the most respectful people i have ever met in life have to say. I just wanted to say the thank you to everyone that has been a long time coming.

I too registered here a long time ago but started posting only recently... After joining other forums where I really could not stand the aggressiveness, I remembered that this place seemed to look cool when I first registered. Having started posting here, I really appreciate the sense of community there is here. This place, in contrast, gives me a big feeling of peacefulness.
And, by the way, I'm not a Rookie anymore... Yay! |
