Posting a pic.
 

Ok, say I am a noobie and can't function. I am trying to add an image of the Chicago skyline to the US-NW forum, but when I click the image button it comes up with this:

Enter the text to be formatted:
[IMG]xxx[/IMG]
http://

I put the name of the image from my hard drive into the "xxx" part, but when I post, all I see is a red "x" with a box.

What am I doing wrong.

You'll have to upload it somewhere to a webspace. There are only a few places to upload directly from your hard drive, and I don't think the Regional forums are included in those places.

I think Photo Bucket is a good place. I'm not sure what the exact address is for that site. Maybe www.photobucket.com? If that's not it, ask your friendly Google browser :)

I have had this problem in the past too, but cannot remember the cause of it.

The best course of action would be to send a PM to the moderator of that board. They will be able to help you out with this prediciment. If I knew, I would!

More than likely you will need to use something like Avrett suggested and MSN is a good way to go.

Wow! Thanks for responding so quick. I did kinda of think it might have to be uploaded but wasnt so sure. I will give photo bucket a try and go from there. Thanks!

Well, that's sucks... I used to use another site. Village something or another. But it got pretty crappy, and I think now they might charge people. Check out that thread that the_marq posted, that might point you in the right direction.

Or just come back soon to Photobucket ;)

Looks like MSN may have changed their policies. I have posted photos out of there before here and it worked fine, I just tried a new one and got nuthin.

You are going to need to find a new webhost for your picture (which I was at least able to view by joining your MSN group BTW).

Edit...looks like Imageshack is the way to go, I even uploaded it for you...

Thanks marq. I was wracking my brain trying to figure out wtf i was doing wrong. It started to hurt. so did you download the image from msn and the upload to imageshack? then posted here?
