Why I'm impressed thus far...

  • vbulletin
  • Skin selection
  • more than 5-10 people online at a time
Srsly, finding decent active forums has not been easy!

Hi. I'm wooÐs. I look forward to posting a lot. Yay for new forums :).

Baraka_Guru 05-29-2009 07:53 AM

I'm happy to hear about your first impressions. Welcome.

I look forward to hearing more from you in the forums.

The_Jazz 05-29-2009 08:08 AM

Welcome, Woods. Glad to have you with us.

wooÐs 05-29-2009 08:11 AM

Thx :).

Oh, and the fact that I can have an av without having to pay a fee, or 'mandatory donation' lol.

Cynthetiq 05-29-2009 08:29 AM

Welcome!!!! interesting to see you using the Ð... why did you pick that?

Redlemon 05-29-2009 08:47 AM

I'll just have to call you woo(-D)s, since I have no idea where to find that character. Do you mind?

You can invoke it directly using ASCII code 0208, or you can copy and paste.

North American keyboards aren't generally equipped for it.

It would probably be more accurate to use Woodhs, since I believe that's the best approximation we can manage of what the character represents in the Latin alphabet; I could be mistaken, though.

Oh, right. And welcome aboard.

ratbastid 05-29-2009 09:20 AM

Greetings, and I reserve the right to misspell your handle.

lostgirl 05-29-2009 09:29 AM

Hello wooÐs! Welcome to TFP!

iwst99 05-29-2009 11:29 AM

I'm pretty new here too, and I have to agree with wooÐs that these forums rock. The features available for a vbulletin are subpar. Most forums use the basics, these forums go all out. Loving it. The people are pretty laid back too, which is great.

Welcome! :)

wooÐs 05-30-2009 10:21 PM

Thanks to all :).

And woods is fine lol.

And I chose 'wooÐs' because I wanted to be different like everyone else.

dlish 05-31-2009 01:39 AM

can i call you woodsie?

welcome board btw!

You probably could have gotten a lot more creative but I'm not that familiar with the rules just yet. :o

genuinegirly 05-31-2009 08:22 PM

rules? What rules? Sexual content is a-ok around here.
Here's some wood for you:

Welcome - hope you have some fun.

Oh yeah - one of those pesky rules. We don't have any tolerance for pedophiles. It's usually not an issue.

Plan9 05-31-2009 08:33 PM

Yeah, TFP is like the hot chick you get to take home... the one that still looks good at 8 AM.

Awesome characters abound. Journals are intriguing. We even have "play nice" global PSAs.

wooÐs 05-31-2009 09:13 PM

So when can I move in then? :p

Plan9 05-31-2009 09:22 PM

Mmm, I think the secret is pork product donations. The staff... they REALLY like pork products.

...

Just don't say the B-word around 'em. It'll start a feeding frenzy.

wooÐs 05-31-2009 09:31 PM

Well I hope they'll accept a case of these as a peace offering of sorts...

genuinegirly 05-31-2009 09:35 PM

Yeah, most of the staff isn't vegetarian. I think I'm the only party-pooper.

Hey, have you tried this? My hubby puts it on nearly everything I cook (I think he misses meat).

wooÐs 05-31-2009 09:39 PM

Nope - sure haven't.

But I do love mah meatz lol.

Hmm...

*makes new list showing a scale on which TFP staffers are rated based on taste after grilling*

...

I think the best part about TFP is that we very rarely agree with each other. Except regarding bacon.

genuinegirly 05-31-2009 09:48 PM

I'd like to see this list, Crompsin.

You'd probably choose my rabbit over any of us staff.

Plan9 05-31-2009 10:40 PM

Pfft, I've had rabbit. That's no adventure.

genuinegirly 05-31-2009 10:44 PM

so you prefer adventure to taste? Interesting.

Unless there's a zombie apocolypse, and you're starving...

Plan9 05-31-2009 10:47 PM

Is it wrong to admit that I would try human if it was offered to me?

CinnamonGirl 05-31-2009 10:48 PM

Wrong? No. Creepy? Well, okay, a little bit.

Plan9 05-31-2009 10:57 PM

Soylent Green... is TFP!

CinnamonGirl 05-31-2009 11:07 PM

No, it's not. It's PEOPLE!

Plan9 05-31-2009 11:11 PM

TFPeople.

*eyeballs Guccilvr's thigh, looks for crock pot*

CinnamonGirl 05-31-2009 11:29 PM

TFPeople....

Spare gucci, though. He's one of the good ones :)

Plan9 05-31-2009 11:36 PM

...and probably delicious with chives.

...

Mmm... say, is CinnamonGirl a username or a meal suggestion?

CinnamonGirl 05-31-2009 11:38 PM

Well, I suppose that depends on your opinion of cinnamon, now, doesn't it?

Pfft, some of us never sleep.

Martian 05-31-2009 11:55 PM

I'm on drugs. What's your excuse?

...

Maybe that didn't come out as well as Id've liked.

CinnamonGirl 05-31-2009 11:59 PM

"Who needs sleep?
Well, you're never gonna get it
Who needs sleep?
Tell me, what's that for?
Who needs sleep?
Well, be happy with what you're gettin'
There's a guy who's been awake since the second world war..."

Oh, Universal Life Excuse #1, of course.

Martian 06-01-2009 12:18 AM

... And it's still a conversation killer.

I don't know what it means that I know what you're referring to. Does this mean we're developing a bromance?

You have no idea how happy that makes me.

Sad, but true.

The_Jazz 06-01-2009 04:41 AM

And Martian and Crompsin continue the dance around each other, the sexual tension ratchetting up farther and farther!

You two are just like Ross & Rachel in "Friends", only Crompsin doesn't have such pointy nipples. And I expect that once you two finally fall into that longing embrace, I'll stop watching. Unless Crompsin drags out the barbeque grill as a sex toy.

wooÐs 06-01-2009 04:57 AM

To think all I wanted to do was introduce myself.

Baraka_Guru 06-01-2009 07:18 AM

Now that you've seen how this thread has unfolded....

Are you still impressed?

wooÐs 06-01-2009 07:24 AM

Actually yes...

It's derailed plenty and mods aren't freaking the hell out throwing around warnings and what not lol.

+1 TFP yay!

genuinegirly 06-01-2009 07:45 AM

Goodness you're already "Tilted"? You really have been posting a lot.

I'm intentionally not looking at my posts per day average lol.

Sowwy. I guess I'm just in post whore mode for the time being. I enjoy avoiding reality and responsibility every now and then I guess lol.

ShaniFaye 06-01-2009 08:00 AM

Im gonna bring this over from the other thread cause I dont wanna jack it

you're saying Gwinnett traffic is bad? Jeez Cobb County is Just as bad if not worse at 5 pm on a work day. We've got a guy here at work (in Tucker) that lives in Kennesaw...he leaves at 3 pm and most days is lucky to get home by 4 at the earliest because of the backups that start at 75/285

wooÐs 06-01-2009 08:14 AM

Yeah traffic is definitely bad here as well. But I can remember being on 85 over there and it was ridiculous. They've made some changes by adding lights at the on ramps over here and that really seems to help. Have they done that over there too?

ShaniFaye 06-01-2009 08:24 AM

oh yeah...all our exit ramps have redlights now, and the reconfiguration they did of 316/85/Pleasant Hill Rd has helped tremendously, its not NEARLY as scary to transition to/from 316 anymore

iwst99 06-01-2009 08:24 AM

It saddens me that there's bacon talk in here but no talk about baconnaise.

http://lagourmandemodeste.files.word...baconnaise.jpg

It's Kosher! (really)

The last time I was over there was maybe 6 years ago. And it was during rush hour. Probably why I've never gone back since! lol

Do you ever come to my side of town?

I'm lost on the pork jokes, but that actually looks really good.

ShaniFaye 06-01-2009 08:35 AM

we come over to see a friends band play at Brewsters sometimes.....but Im not particuarly fond of driving in Cobb county late at night, especially after leaving a bar even if I havent been drinking....the Cobb County Police are not pleasant

wooÐs 06-01-2009 08:40 AM

I don't blame you at all. It really is getting bad. But that's actually a good thing really. Drunks don't belong on teh roads!
