what did this have to do with work?

and yeah, here's my take. all other things being equal, i'm gonna go back to the grocery store that has the hot chicks at the check out. and despite that horrible horrible movie, dudes do not make very good hot chicks.

girls are nicer anyway, aren't they? the cashier is often the only point of customer / employee interaction, so it's to the store's benefit to have the nicest person there.

One would assume that girls would have a better personality. However, there are many cashiers who we nickname 'Sunshine'. These are the bitter cashier who crush your chips, smash your bread, and bruise your fruit. They also give you dirty looks like you are wasting their time. They are at work and doing their job...How could I possibly be wasting their time? I have had very nice male cashiers that were funny.
I was a nice cashier I guess when I worked at the grocery store, but there were some women who people would avoid. My line would be super long and the other girl is standing there trying to bribe people over. There were also male cashiers who had long lines because the people liked them.

I think that people assume that women cashiers are nicer because they see more of them than men. It's like saying that women teachers are better. Well, they are the majority so there is a good chance that there are more good woman teachers.

I work for a company that does insurance investigation, for workers' compensation claims. In this case it was a death at the workplace and we were provided with a copy of the in-store security videotape. Since she was a cashier at a large retail chain, there was a camera on her and it caught the whole thing. It was pretty sickening to watch, although not the worst thing I've dealt with by far. At least I didn't have to watch her bleed to death or get crushed by a truck.
