One completely selfish wish
 

If you had to pick one completely selfish wish, what would it be?

I am asking for "selfish" wishes to avoid answers (good ones) such as "End world hunger" and the like.

I mean, what would you want, for yourself, more than anything?

My wish would be to meet/talk with/and establish a friendship relationship with Angelina Jolie. That is the one thing I would ask completely for my selfish reasons.

2 words- World Domination

New eyeballs with 20/20 vision. Or better. Maybe options for infrared, x-ray, telescopic, etc. I'd settle for being able to read the time on the clock radio in the middle of the night and to be able to identify which body is my wife's while I'm swimming (my eyes are at about -13 diopters).

I would want a wish that gave me unlimited wishes. :thumbsup:

Right now, I would say I want someone to come and redo my yard, bathrooms, and kitchen, for free of course.

Lots of good answers....from now on, try to filter out the superpowers though. Instead focus on attainable things. Things you want but just don't have at this time.

I'd like to swap bank accounts with Bill Gates. 60 hour work weeks for a couple of years is dragging me down. I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired. Philanthropist/Playboy seems like a nice occupation with better hours.

I wish for unlimited wealth, with no strings attached... The ability to buy whatever I want, not have to work for it and most importantly to be able to say no when I want.

I would wish for something or someone who could answer any question I have with the truth. This includes things beyond current human knowledge.

A completely paid for trip to dive Cozumel till I get sick and tired of it, and good company with me.

In that case, I want a gorgeous girl who I get along with perfectly.

That is a great wish, so I'm going to wish for that too. To actually know what you are supposed to do with your life must be awesome.

Super Powers, course depending how I used them would determine if it was selfish.

Bingo. Money can't buy happiness, but it's makes walking the path a whole lot easier.

If we are delving into the world of superhuman ability, I would want to control time. Bad day? Go back and make it better. Want to learn to play the piano in a day i.e. 'Groundhog Day?' It can be done.

At first I thought omnipotence, then I thought omniscience. Then I decided money. In reality, thought.. I'd only want those things so I could make myself "happier."

Just wishing for happiness always, whether im working or showering or playing video games, that would be ideal.

a powerful "tazer" that fit on my key chain that i could use to zap all cellphones causing them to melt to the ear of the user in question within a 1 mile of me while i eat, drive, watching a movie......

a small island we could put all the pedo's on....and torch it.

I wish I never had to worry about money ever again, meaning I would have a shit ton of it.

Not sure on this one. I'd like more money than one can spend in their life, or then next 10 generations. My hair to come back. A bigger thicker (you know), just because. With the first one, I can take care of the next one, maybe not the third, that's just a dream.

Ok...lemme re-wish it.

I wish I can spend the rest of my life living happily ever after with my gf with no fanancial worries at all....or any other worries for that matter...yep...worry-free lives.

I would wish for money. I am happy with where I am at the moment, and with everything I want to do I need a good supply of money.

Just to clarify, I want to take some courses and set up a couple of things 'work wise'... if I worked to get money I would not have the time for the courses or the set-ups, so to have some money behind me would be perfect.

Changed my mind... I still wanna be drop dead gorgeous for a week (and get revenge on every person who ever called me ugly Though I'd need more than a week for that)

I want a natural talent - whether it be a music, voice, meeting people, a photographic eye, some form of artistry... I want a natural talent... something that I am good at that just comes naturally. (I used to be really good at slving quadratic equations, but outside of math club geek mixers, no one really cares)

Having been on the hard end of solving more than few quadratic equations, I have to say I would gladly give up the few worthless things I seem to be good at to have your 'natural' talent. :)

A very distant second to the 'having a butt-load of money' would have to be really, really smart. Like Stephen Hawking smart. I'm no intellectual slouch, but to have that kind of mastery over the realms of math and science would be very, very...cool.

I would wish for one of two things. I'm not sure which I would choose.

First would be an investment account with high enough returns that I could pay off my family's debt, the debt of everyone who has ever let my family borrow money, and live a comfortable but excessive lifestyle. Just getting by would be sufficient, but if it's going to be a selfish wish, I want my own house with a moat, a refrigerated swimming pool for my pet penguins, and a garage big enough to store my expensive cars.

My other choice would be a multi-part wish, including a congressional repeal of the constitutional age limit on the perisidency, a third-party nomination of me for the 2008 presidential race, and the willingness of the American people to elect me in a historic landslide vote.

Interestingly I started out wanting to date this one girl I've been pining after for three years, though she's never showed me interest.

Then I read through the thread and saw people's wishes.

So then I thought 'Ya'know, it'd be nice to pimp my computer and have it working tomorrow'. Then "Ya'know, I'll take a life time of money so I never have to worry about it. That'll just save me the trouble."

But I know even if I had that, I'd wake up tomorrow and say "Man, I really wish I could kiss her..." and the money wouldn't particularly solve that.

So I think we'll stick with number one.

A handful of people have mentioned enlightenment and/or intelligence, but they asked for it to be granted to them in an instant. I'd much rather have the ability to learn at, say, 100x the normal rate. That way it's not impossible to attain unparalleled levels of intellect, but at the same time it doesn't take away the thrill of learning something new, or reaching a new level of consciousness in the quest for enlightenment. It also always leaves room for more to be learned.

I also think it would be cool to have a heightened level of perception of others' thoughts. Not enough that it would be intrusive, just enough that you could sense exactly what their emotions were, and know how to improve their state of mind. The ultimate level of sensitivity and awareness.

I'm not sure how money is a selfish wish, I have never met a person who has never said they wouldn't like to be rich.

That's my number one wish, Money..enough so i will never have any money issues ever again.

Of course i don't play the lottery, Besides, I would get struck by lightning before i would win money..So ya it's just a wish.

I'd like to get the chance to live all the choices I decided against, just to see how it would have worked out.

I'd like to survive death so I could write about it.

I'd like to get the recognition I deserve.

I want the dearest person in my life healed and not to be in pain any more.And $200,000. I'm not greedy, I just don't want any bills.
