How far are you from the airport?

I'm going to have to fly in.

Train and bus is too freaking long and hust as much money.

Fifteen minute drive from the airport......and I can do the pickup

by the way, in case there are others who are on the way from D.C. to Rochester, I am driving and could pick you up.. I plan on leaving D.C. Friday at 5pm (I know..I know..ugh) and leaving Rochester on Monday.

After painstaking research, it seems that, should any wish to stay in a hotel,
Comfort Inn West on West Ridge Rd is about the closest to party central at 6 miles. Rooms run about $80 or so. (staying in Rochester ain't cheap!)
Amend: Residence Inn at starting rate of $59 a night is also 6 miles on Paddy Creek Circle as is Marriott Courtyard.

Take the 401 to Don Valley Parkway/404 exit. Take the Don Valley Parkway South.

Stay on the DVP until you reach the end. You will be given a choice of either Lakeshore Boulevard on the left or Gardiner Expressway on the right. Take the Lakeshore exit on the left.

This will bring you to a set of lights. You will be under the elevated highway above (the Gardiner Expressway). The cross street at the lights is Lakeshore Boulevard. Go straight through. You are now on Don Roadway.

Take Don Roadway to where it meets Commissioners Street. Go right.

Take Commissioners to where it meets Cherry Street. Go Left.

You will pass a Drive-In Theatre/Driving Range and go over a lift bridge. Take the first right after the bridge. This is Unwin Avenue.

The Ferry Docks are at the end of Unwin.

This is quickly shaping up to be the TFP meet up of the year, maybe TFP history, although I can't speak to that seeing as I've only been here for not even a year. But it's definitely got an all star lineup of attendees, with the likes of amonkie, shani and now onesnowyowl showing up. If I still lived in Ottawa, I'd be hard pressed to miss this event. I can already tell it's going to be awesome. For those of us who can't make it, please take loads of uploadable pics. All those beautiful, photogenic faces, (yes Tec, I mean you too) need to be photographed.

The ferry leaves TO at 7 pm Friday - it is approximately a 2-1/2 hour crossing - so I'll disembark between 9:30 - 9:45 pm probably. The ride back from Rochester is Sunday at 5:30 pm - and I'm to be back at the dock by 4:30 pm for that one.
